2021 EPCOT Festival of the Arts – Disney Songbook Performance

2021 Epcot Festival of the Arts Entrance

The 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is happening daily at the Walt Disney World Resort until February 22, 2021.

What makes this festival so awesome is that it brings together the visual, culinary, and performing arts in a magical way…that is included with your theme park admission.

One of the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts highlights is the performances on the America Gardens Theatre stage in the American Adventure Pavilion of EPCOT’s World Showcase.

New for 2021 is the Disney Songbook performed by the iconic Voices of Liberty!

This 15-minute show happens throughout the afternoon on Fridays and Saturdays and features several fan-favorite songs from Disney movies that celebrate the artistry of Disney composers and lyricists.

While the Voices of Liberty have performed songs from Disney movies and attractions before, this performance at the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts features a wider variety of songs including:

  • “Be Our Guest” from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
  • “Touch the Sky” from Pixar’s Brave
  • “You’ll Be in my Heart” from Disney’s Tarzan
  • A Moana medley including “How Far I’ll Go” and “You’re Welcome”
  • “When You Wish Upon a Star” from Pinocchio

If you are interested in attending a performance of the Disney Songbook by the Voices of Liberty, I encourage you to arrive early as the show is incredibly popular and seating is limited in the America Gardens Theatre.

All this week I will be sharing more information, videos, and pictures from EPCOT so make sure to follow @onthegoinmco on Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook!

2021 is kicking off with an awesome start, because Park Hopping has returned to the theme parks of the Walt Disney World Resort!!!

Walt Disney World Park Hopping 2021

Starting January 1, 2021, guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort who have purchased a ticket or annual pass with Park Hopper benefits will be able to visit more than one park per day.

I know you’re as stoked as I am, but before you go there are a few things to keep in mind about the park hopping process since it is a little different than we are used to using.

Walt Disney World Park Hopping

Know Before You Go: Park Hopping in 2021

Reservations are Required…

With the updated Park Hopper experience, guests must make a Disney Park Pass reservation using the DisneyWorld.com/ParkHours or the My Disney Experience app for the first park they plan to visit that day.

If you want to park hop, you MUST enter using that first Park Pass reservation prior to visiting another.

Park Hopping Hours

When planning your park hopping experience it is important to know that park hopping hours start at 2 p.m. each day and end at the park’s scheduled close time.

Arriving Early

If you arrive at your second park prior to 2 p.m. you will be directed to a queue outside of the theme park’s touchpoints.

Park Hopping Limits

Currently, there is no limit on park hopping and guests can travel to more than two theme parks a day based on availability.

Park Hopping Planning

Walt Disney World is already hard at work to make the park hopping process easier!

Soon guests will be able to find up-to-date Park Hopper hours and helpful information to plan their day by visiting DisneyWorld.com/ParkHours website or using the My Disney Experience app.

Safety

These park hopping modifications are designed to help the Walt Disney World theme parks continue to manage attendance in a way that fosters physical distancing.

Please note that all other enhanced health and safety measures remain in effect including face coverings required for all guests ages two and up.

The park will have some bewitching surprises this year, including a special Halloween-themed cavalcade with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and pals wearing their favorite Halloween costumes.

Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue Update

Rise of the Resistance star wars galaxy's edge
Joshua Sudock/Disney Parks

When Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopens on July 15, guests with Disney Park Pass reservations will be using the virtual queue to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

If you’ve joined the Resistance before, you will want to note a few changes to the process beginning July 15.

Most importantly – as availability allows – guests will have an opportunity at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 4 p.m. to request to join the virtual queue which is AMAZING news because this means there is no need to arrive early to the park to check the virtual queue.

CAN I GET A HALLELUJAH???

Whether it’s your first trip to Batuu or you have joined the fight against the First Order before, there are a few important details to know before you arrive:

  • First, make sure you have the My Disney Experience app installed on your phone before you arrive at the park.
  • Once you enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios, log in to your account at one of the distribution times (10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 4 p.m.).
  • Once you have logged in, select “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue” on the home screen. You will be able to view the current status and next steps for joining the virtual queue.
  • The app will indicate when there is no availability for a specific distribution time, but make sure you read your distribution time carefully as some guests may join backup groups.
  • As long as your My Disney Experience account is linked to park tickets for you and the others in your group, you can enroll everyone in the virtual queue at the same time.
  • In order to give as many guests as possible the opportunity to join the Resistance, each guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day.
  • Make sure push notifications are turned on for My Disney Experience so you will be alerted if your group is called to return.
  • You’ll have up to an hour from the time of the alert to go to the entrance of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
  • Please note that joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

If you have any questions or need assistance with joining the virtual queue, cast members at Guest Experience Team locations throughout the park are available to assist. While you wait for your virtual queue group to be called, you can enjoy other experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios including our newest addition, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

For other attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort, plan to use the regular standby queues and maintain physical distancing.

Walt Disney World Reopening: Theme Park Essentials

Walt Disney World Reopening Theme Park Essentials

With Walt Disney World reopening today for an Annual Passholder Preview and this weekend for guests, I thought that it would be a good chance to share the theme park essentials I take to the parks in our new normal.

Walt Disney World Reopening: Theme Park Essentials

Walt Disney World Reopening Theme Park Essentials
Hand Sanitizer

While you can find hand sanitizer and hand washing stations throughout the parks, I really like having my own hand sanitizer with me because it gives me the opportunity to go ahead and use a little as soon as I get on or as soon as I get off of an attraction.

Walt Disney World Reopening Theme Park Essentials
Battery Operated Fan

I find the most useful thing to have in my bag when I go into the theme parks is a battery operated fan.

Wearing a mask while you are outside can make things feel hotter than expected, and when I have my battery operated fan I’m able to pop it on when I need an extra boost of cold air to help me feel more comfortable.

Walt Disney World Reopening Theme Park Essentials
Extra Face Coverings

Speaking of feeling more comfortable, I always pack extra face coverings just in case I need to switch them through the day.

It’s the rainy season and wearing a wet face covering is about as comfortable as wearing wet socks, so just make sure you pack an extra mask so that you’ll have it just in case.

Walt Disney World Reopening Theme Park Essentials
Alcohol Pads

This one might sound weird…but stick with me…

I bring alcohol pads, much like the ones that you’d find in a Doctor’s office, to help clean my phone throughout the day.

One thing that I have become hyper aware of is how many times I pick up and put down my phone from a surface during the day, and this gives me an extra slice of peace of mind.

Walt Disney World Reopening Theme Park Essentials
Portable Cell Phone Charger

On every list I’ve ever made about what I keep in my bag, a portable cell phone charger has always been on the list.

However, it’s even more important now as you are going to need to do more things on your phone in the theme parks throughout the day.

These are my five theme park essentials, but I’m sure as I visit the parks more I’m going to find there other things that I like keeping with me so I’m sure they’ll be a part two to this post.

If you have a must-have to bring in your theme park bag, especially for the Walt Disney World Reopening, I would love to hear about it!
