In addition to the meet and greets with the North Pole visitors in their vacation attire, other holiday favorites including bedtime elf tuck-ins, a dancing lights show and 2,000-pound life-size holiday scene made entirely from chocolate all return to create a festive atmosphere for guests.

A Florida Snowfall and Tree Lighting Ceremony
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort’s holiday tree, showcasing continuously changing lights, returns to brighten up the holidays. Throughout December, guests can experience the transformation of the lobby into a festive holiday scene featuring the state-of-the-art 24-foot-tall Christmas tree. Regularly timed indoor snowfalls complete the holiday scene. On select nights, guests can join Mrs. Claus in the Dolphin lobby for the lighting of the Christmas tree starting at 6 p.m. The ceremony is followed by hot holiday beverages and crafts for kids at Santa’s Tiki Hut.
Bedtime Elf Tuck-Ins
Santa’s elves are making their return to bring holiday joy to children staying at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort. It features chocolate Santa sitting in his chair; a 7-foot-tall, 400-pound chocolate nutcracker; chocolate fireplace; chocolate Christmas tree; and chocolate toy train.
The scene will be displayed in the lobby of the resort throughout December and is 100 percent edible. Margaritaville Resort Orlando Announces Island H2O Live! Water Park Details
Island H2O Live! water park set to bring chills and thrills to Central Florida in Spring 2019
I don’t know about you, but I am STOKED for the opening of the Margaritaville Resort Orlando in Spring 2019!
And as I’ve been driving by the site, I can’t help but notice the HUGE water park area that is taking shape next to 192 in Kissimmee.
Today I was excited to learn that Central Florida’s newest and most immersive water park will be called Island H2O Live!, and will be opening with the Margaritaville Resort Orlando in Spring 2019.
Island H2O Live! will unleash the power of pure play and enthusiasm with nine different thrill rides, a lazy river, a wave pool, a kids’ area, and a river raft ride for the whole family. Designed to enable guests to customize their experience and share it with the world, the park uses a new RFID wristband system that will enable guests to personalize the music and lighting they experience on select rides, making every time very unique.
The park, owned by Horizon Waterpark, LLC and developed in collaboration with Encore Capital Management and Innovative Attraction Management, will change the way people think about water parks.
“Water parks are known for exhilarating rides and attractions, but Island H2O Live! will let guests be playful in interactive ways that have never been seen before,” said Albo Antenucci Jr., Executive in Charge, Horizon Waterpark, LLC. “These incredible opportunities for engagement will be what Island H2O Live! is all about.”
BEHIND THE TECHNOLOGY
The wristband system at Island H2O Live! is called Vantage and is the latest offering from water slide manufacturer WhiteWater West.
The Vantage system works through an app that guests download either before or when they arrive. Once they arrive at the park, guests sync the app to their wristbands and the fun begins, as a scanner on certain slides will read their wristband and automatically play songs and lighting effects from the previously established selections.
On some slides, the technology will enable cameras to snap pictures and video and share the content directly to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, or other social media sites. Guests can also use their creativity and personal style to produce their own slide experience by choosing music playlists, lighting preferences and tagging their social media handles for easy sharing.
Another high-tech feature: “Be Live” invites guests to sing karaoke or star in other audio/visual experiences with clips from these sessions shared through the app.
The gamified app also allows guests to earn loyalty points with every ride. Guests can win prizes such as free food and beverage items, skip-the-line passes, and more.
“These features speak to the ‘Live’ part of our name,” Albo Antenucci Jr. “Customization offers guests the creative space to develop their own adventures, to be in the moment, but then capture those moments and share them in real-time.”
The experience at Island H2O Live! will be all about creating your own, unique, customized experience. For those looking to soak in the island vibe, listen to music, and have some chill with their thrill, tropically-inspired havens will abound with hammocks, cabanas and soft sand beaches around every turn and adult-only areas will offer cocktails only steps from your beach chair.
To keep the fun going. Island H20 Live! is within walking distance or a short trolley ride to Margaritaville Orlando Resort hotel and cottages, and Sunset Walk, the resort’s retail, dining and entertainment district featuring everything from Studio Movie Grill, to Rock & Brews, BurgerFi, Capone’s, Ford’s Garage, GameTime, Sketchers and more.
Island H20 Live! admission will offer the most fun you can have in the water at a great value. Please visit IslandH2OLive.com for specific ticket pricing or to book tickets call 407-910-1401.
The Disney Vacation Club will welcome its 14th Resort when Disney’s Copper Creek Villas and Cabins opens July 17, 2017.
While construction is still under way, we were invited to take a look at the progress and to learn more about Walt Disney World’s newest Resort that will offer Deluxe Studio, 1- or 2- Bedroom Villa, 3-Bedroom Grand Villa or a private waterfront Cabin accommodations.
Disney’s Copper Creek Villas and Cabins’ design is based on the Early Settlements and the railway exploration of the Northwest, and in all of the rooms you will find nods to this time period with stainless steel appliances, rail spikes used as hooks for hanging items, and dove tail features on the furniture. The artwork in the room features Brother Bear, the Carolwood Pacific trains, and totems which are reminiscent of the Wilderness Lodge.
In the 1 and 2 bedrooms you will find a fully equipped kitchen, stacked washer and dryer, and a sleek bubble-jet tub.
In the 3 bedroom Grand Villa your master bathroom is fitted with a bubble-jet tub and an in-mirror TV.
The Cabins will make you feel that you are in the Northwest, featuring unique chandeliers, woods for the door Frames and furniture and the counters are exquisite.
The open style kitchen, and the double sided stone hearth fireplace will make you feel at home. For Relaxation there is screened in wraparound porch with a built in hot tub.
Two other areas that you won’t want to miss checking out at Copper Creek Villas and Cabins are located just outside of the rooms!
The pool is based upon a Rock Quarry and there will be 4 Cabanas. There will also be table side food service available in the pool area.
For dining you can visit the newly opened Geyser Point Bar and Grill that has spectacular views of Bay Lake and delicious food and crafted cocktails based on the cuisine of the Pacific Northwest.
Earlier this year the Disney Parks Blog shared a video that shows how this new resort will work in harmony with the other resorts at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and it’s really amazing the level of detail that they’ve put into the Copper Creek Villas and Cabins!
The Gaylord Palms Resort is absolutely one of our favorite places to staycation in Orlando, and this Easter you can find EGGcelent activities for the entire family to enjoy on Saturdays and Sundays through April 16, 2017!

From April 1 to 16, guests can grab a free scavenger hunt booklet and follow the clues, journeying through the resort’s gardens to discover 10 oversized Easter Eggs in the 4.5 acre (and indoor) Great Gaylord Palms Egg Hunt!
The Gaylord Palms Resort in the past year has been adding new entertainment, and this Easter springtime characters make their debut in new show Queen Titania Tulip’s Easter Coronation and High Tea. The light-hearted, interactive musical revue welcomes families to join Queen Titania and her Royal Court as they crown the new Queen or King of Spring. (Saturdays, Sundays; $14.99 per decorating kit, plus tax)
Why you’re there you will want to hop on down to Villa de Flora to enjoy an award-winning breakfast where Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny do some table-hopping, delivering smiles and hugs while posing for photos. (Saturdays, Sundays; $27.50 per adult, $13.75 per child 4-12, plus tax and gratuity)

Now about the new Cypress Springs Water Park! Families know this area for its zero-entry family pool, treehouse water play structure, and four water slides. BUT thanks to a a recent $4.2 million addition thrill seekers will get to know this area of the Resort, too!
New waterslide structure Big Cypress towers nearly 60 feet above the pools, daring brave guests to climb up to experience the mix of three new slides created for adrenaline junkies. The Florida Free Fall is an AquaDrop slide that dispenses guests through a trapdoor into a 35-foot free-fall and flatline loop, ending in a centrifugal force finalChampagne Bowl splashdown. Just beneath the drop slide, the Tamiami Twister racing slides allow pairs of guests to speed through the twisting, high speed dual body flumes to see who arrives down below first!
The other signature addition to Cypress Springs is The Wake Zone, a Double FlowRider offering a surfable simulated wave for guests. Positioned at the southern end of the zero-entry family pool, guests can watch one another learn and master how to flowboard with the onsite training staff.

The new LEGOLANDBeach Retreat, opening on April 7th, brings a brand new resort style to their second hotel at LEGOLAND Florida.

The opening of Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, at the Universal Orlando Resort, is only a few weeks away, and we are sharing a sneak peek at the new Resort.
The Universal Orlando Blog described the resort as…
From cascading waterfalls and massive stone turrets to vintage rum and fresh ceviche, we’ve always been drawn to the history and allure of the Caribbean. Imagine, in the middle of a secluded island, we stumble upon a winding river leading to a beautiful, sapphire-blue swimming hole surrounded by ancient stone ruins and dense palms – the perfect environment to reshape into your exclusive island hideaway.
Upon completion the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will have1,000 guest rooms, including 83 suites, the largest resort pool at Universal Orlando, with a waterslide, two sand beaches, fire pit and a children’s play area, several unique dining experiences, an immersive rum bar with more than 75 different rums from across the Caribbean, and so much more.
And I am really excited to share the images that Loews and the Universal Orlando Resort have shared!
Loews Sapphire Falls Resort rooms are inspired by the adventurous spirit and exotic destinations of the Golden Age of Travel, and the new look captures the tranquil serenity and bold heritage that embodies the spirit of the islands.
“Our new rooms are vibrant and luxurious, evoking the romance of traveling to the South Pacific” says Complex Managing Director Barb Bowden. “Combined with an extensive upgrade and renovation to the bathrooms, it is an entirely new room product for our guests to experience.”
The color palette was inspired by the islands, with sandy neutrals punctuated with hints of turquoise and tangerine reminiscent of sand, water and flowers. If you look closely, you will see that the custom furniture pieces make use of leather strapping details, metal corner guards, buckles and rivets, which are all nods to vintage luggage, steamer trunks, and majestic steamships.
The sparkling 16,000 square foot resort pool at Sapphire Falls draws inspiration from Caribbean Sea, and is the largest at the Universal Orlando Resort!
The Sapphire Falls pool is also unique in design, because it has random and slightly varying depths to mimic the sea floor.
Surrounded by sandy beaches and palm trees, this pool looks like the perfect place to cool off after a day in the Universal Orlando parks!
Food & Beverage
A highlight of any vacation is indulging in food, and Sapphire Falls is no exception with four new dining options at the Resort.
Today we are sharing a peek at Amatista Cookhouse and the Strong Water Tavern.
The Amatista Cookhouse features Caribbean cuisine prepared in an exhibition kitchen that will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant will offer waterfront dining with indoor, outdoor and private seating options.
With a rum captain as your guide, the Strong Water Tavern sounds like it will be a go-to stop for adult visitors to Sapphire Falls. The lounge, open for lunch and dinner, will have a wall of vintage rums, a unique ceviche bar, and a patio overlooking the lagoon that will offer daily rum tastings.
I hope that you enjoyed this sneak peek at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, and we’ll be bringing you more information soon! Make sure you follow @onthegoinmco on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!Follow us for more updates:
