The restaurant, helmed by Manuel Trevino, Vice President of Culinary, will feature dramatic design elements familiar to fans of the brand to transport guests on a unique culinary journey.

“Rosa Mexicano is the perfect partner to enhance our current dining options,” said Sean Verney, Area General Manager of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. “We pride ourselves on offering the best quality restaurant experiences for our hotel guests as well as local Orlando residents, and Rosa Mexicano delivers on that promise. We’re excited to be home to their first Florida location starting in early 2023.”

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser 2023 Sailings

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

New 2023 voyage dates for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will soon be available at Walt Disney World Resort. Beginning Sept. 1, 2022, guests may book two-night vacation experiences aboard Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser for voyage dates through the end of September 2023.

Making its debut earlier this year at Walt Disney World Resort, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser introduced a first-of-its-kind immersive experience going beyond anything Disney has created before and continues to receive stellar reviews from guests of all ages. Guests become the heroes of their own Star Wars stories during a two-night adventure aboard the Halcyon starcruiser, a vessel known for its impeccable service and exotic destinations. Passengers relax in well-appointed cabins, enjoy exquisite dining and out-of-this-world entertainment, experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in new ways, and explore the ship in search of hidden secrets and new opportunities.

Throughout the voyage, guests’ choices determine their personal stories as they interact with characters, crew, and other passengers, becoming part of the action and the broader Star Wars saga. They may be asked to keep a secret, deliver a covert message, take part in a high-stakes heist, defend the ship, hide an ally … the possibilities are seemingly endless. Guests’ decisions affect how these tales unfold, intertwining with those of other passengers and well-known characters such as Chewbacca and Rey as momentum builds on an action-packed adventure that may determine the galaxy’s fate.

From Walt Disney World to a Galaxy Far, Far Away
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser debuted during “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” honoring the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World, adding to the abundance of new experiences across the resort during this historic milestone.

  • The adventure begins when guests arrive at the Halcyon starcruiser terminal near Disney’s Hollywood Studios and check-in for their two-night experience.
  • Guests enter a Launch Pod to begin their Star Wars Through viewports. They see their world fall away as they jump to hyperspace and draw closer to the magnificent Halcyon starcruiser.
  • When the Launch Pod docks and the airlock open, guests step into the ship’s main deck Atrium to begin their journey through a galaxy far, far away.

An Experience Going Beyond Anything Disney Has Created Before
Star Wars infuses every moment onboard the Halcyon starcruiser, where each detail of the experience is meticulously crafted to create a compelling, complete, all-consuming story.

  • The immersive experience features thrilling onboard activities, such as:
    • Learning the ancient ways of the lightsaber and facing off against a training remote, where guests may discover their own connection with the Force just as Luke Skywalker once did.
    • Visiting the starcruiser’s Bridge to learn about its systems and how to operate them, including weapons and shields – skills that may come in handy during a journey through this adventure-filled galaxy.
    • Playing holo-sabacc in the ship’s Sublight Lounge, where guests can try their luck against other passengers in this game of skill, strategy, and chance.
  • Passenger cabins feature a viewport out to space that continuously changes throughout the journey. Other special touches include sleeping berths reminiscent of those seen on other famous Star Wars ships, such as the Millennium Falcon.
  • Guests can explore the starcruiser and perhaps discover hidden spaces perfect for uncovering secrets or holding clandestine meetings.

Dynamic, Interactive Storytelling Unfolds in Real Time
A visit on the Halcyon starcruiser invites guests into a two-night, interactive story that interweaves with crew members, other passengers, droids, and familiar Star Wars characters such as Rey, Chewbacca, and Kylo Ren. As they choose alliances and chart their own courses, guests may encounter the starcruiser’s strong and charismatic captain, a plucky mechanic, or a charming scoundrel with an ulterior motive, among others.

  • Characters may engage with guests throughout the voyage, from simply asking about their homeworlds to inviting them to protect valuable information or participate in a mission.
  • Passengers can deepen their engagement with characters and storylines by using the Play Disney Parks mobile app on their smart devices.* Through the Star WarsDatapad inside the app, guests can access a plethora of functions.

Dining Is Part of the Show
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser boasts a robust and imaginative dining program developed especially for this experience. Passengers discover menus full of familiar tastes but unexpected colors and textures, deepening the immersion of their galactic voyage.

  • Guests find refreshments each day in an enticing supper club known as the Crown of Corellia Dining Room. This dynamic and welcoming hall offers breakfast and lunch buffets during the day and then comes alive each night of the voyage with a lavish multi-course, table-service menu of both otherworldly and familiar origins.
  • The first night’s dinner features a live performance from Gaya, the Twi’lek musical superstar who captivates her audience as she moves throughout the room singing her biggest hits. (Passengers may find listening to Gaya’s performance brings insight into more of the goings-on around the ship.)
  • The second night offers the “Taste Around the Galaxy” dinner experience, where each course hails from a different planet.
  • The Sublight Lounge, located just off the ship’s Atrium, offers a stylish locale for passengers to socialize and enjoy casual refreshments, including an assortment of ales, wines, and signature cocktails from across the galaxy, along with light snacks.

Merchandise Enhances Immersive Play Onboard the Starcruiser
An extensive merchandise collection for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser enhances this role-play vacation experience, inviting guests to further immerse themselves in a galaxy far, far away. The Chandrila Collection boutique offers a wide assortment of premium garments, and accessories guests can purchase and wear during their voyage.

  • Passengers can dress the part in robes, tunics, and other authentic fashion apparel evoking Star Wars characters such as Padme Amidala, Leia Organa, and Alderaanian officials, among others.
  • Headwear helps guests transform into an alien species, with Twi’lek “lekku” head tails or the striped, horned montrals of a Togruta.

Other merchandise options include a remote-control SK droid, a light-up Halcyon starcruiser model, the Legacy Lightsaber Training Hilt, and Legacy Reflective Shield, and the commemorative Star WarsGalactic Starcruiser items.

New Stories Come to Life in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Storylines from Star WarsGalactic Starcruiser continues to play out when guests travel to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on the second day of their voyage.

  • Passengers board a special transport shuttle for their planetside excursion to Batuu, traveling to Docking Bay 3 in Black Spire Outpost.
  • Starcruiser passengers can participate in new missions throughout the land based on characters they’ve met onboard the starcruiser. Guests’ actions while on Batuu may have ramifications when they return to the Halcyon starcruiser, helping determine how their stories play out.
  • As part of their secret missions, Star WarsGalactic Starcruiser guests receive one-time entry to the land’s two signature attractions – Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
  • Lunch at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo (or other select locations) is included.

Holiday Fun at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

This year, Santa will bring the North Pole experience to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort with a new Santa’s Village themed area for guests to enjoy a socially distant, yet festive holiday experience – without the North Pole weather!

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel

Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elf, Kandy Kane, return for their annual holiday vacation to Santa’s favorite resort as part of the resort’s 2020 holiday season celebration.

On select nights beginning November 27, the new Santa’s Village experience will give the young and young-at-heart a chance to experience the sights, scents, and sounds of the holidays.

Playful elves will host socially distant reindeer games and guests will enjoy specialty drinks from Santa’s ho-ho-hometown in the hotel’s restaurants, take part in holiday cookie decorating and meet and take socially distanced pictures with the big man himself.

The full slate of Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort holiday activities include:

Santa and Mrs. Claus Meet and Greets

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel Christmas Santa and Mrs. Claus on the balcony

Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Kandy Kane, decked out in their favorite Florida vacation attire, will meet guests on select nights Nov – Dec. This unique, socially distanced holiday photo opportunity is filled with Florida flair, featuring reindeer, palm trees, flamingos, and holiday cheer.

Event dates: November 27-28, December 4-5, December 11-12, December 18-19, and December 21-22.

Cookie Decorating

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel

Fun has never tasted so sweet! On select nights, families can participate in a favorite holiday tradition – cookie decorating.

Kids and parents alike can unleash their creativity on frosted sugar cookies from the hotel’s award-winning food and beverage team, then devour their delicious creations.

The cookie decorating will be arranged with special health protocols in place.

Life-Size Chocolate Holiday Santa Scene

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel Christmas Largest Santa

Constructed entirely of chocolate, this life-size sculpture weighs approximately 2,000 pounds!

The sculpture, created by a two-time world pastry champion and the resort’s executive pastry chef, Laurent Branlard, is showcased in the Swan Hotel.

It features chocolate Santa sitting in his chair; a 7-foot-tall, 400-pound chocolate nutcracker; a chocolate fireplace; a chocolate Christmas tree, and chocolate toy train.

The scene will be displayed throughout December and is 100 percent edible.

However, any chocolate lovers thinking of taking on the challenge of consuming this enormous sweet should consider that it is 4 million calories! (And unfortunately, the sculpture is not available for tasting.)

Dancing Lights Show

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel

A dazzling musical light show transforms the outdoor causeway each evening into a holiday spectacle with dancing illuminated palm trees and favorite holiday tunes. The performances occur regularly from sunset through 10 p.m.

Magic Keys for Santa on Christmas Eve

How will Santa deliver presents to each guest room without a chimney? With a magic key of course!

Children can hang a magic key on their door to help Santa find his way on Christmas Eve. Magic keys are available on December 24 at the concierge desk.

Deck-The-Halls Decoration Packages

Extend the hotel’s festive décor to your guestroom. Guests can order a Deck-The-Halls decoration package, where elves will transform their room with holiday-themed décor and leave behind some tasty treats and a specialized holiday note for the kids.

This is an ideal way to surprise the family after returning from a fun day in the theme parks! Hanukkah packages are also available.

Advance reservations required. Fees apply.

24/7 In-Room Holiday Movies

Families can enjoy round-the-clock holiday cheer with a variety of free holiday-themed movies available in-room.

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel

Guests can join all the holiday excitement with rates starting at $167 per night. And, if they are on the nice list, they can also enjoy a special bonus: up to 50% off a second room. Just use the code: SANTA.

Tower Studio Tour at Disney’s Riviera Resort

Disney's Riviera Resort Tower Studio

DISCLOSURE: I was an invited guest of the Walt Disney World Resort to tour Disney’s Riviera Resort, but all opinions and overuse of exclamation marks are all my own.

Disney’s Riviera Resort is the first Disney Vacation Club property to feature a Tower Studio room type.

While the resort has 12 of these rooms, located in the Resort’s tower featuring the iconic ‘Double Rs’, and while their layout is compact their function is off the charts.

Disney's Riviera Resort Tower Studio

Let’s take a look at the Tower Studio Floor Plan.

Disney's Riviera Resort Tower Studio
Disney Vacation Club

As you can see it features a main room, generously sized bathroom with closet, and a balcony (parking area, garden, or water views are available).

What makes these rooms so special is that every space has a double use.

Disney's Riviera Resort Tower Studio

Without a traditional dresser, shelves and drawers are located in the wall unit that also houses the queen-sized pull-down bed.

Speaking of pull-down bed, when it’s time to transform the room from day to night, there’s no need to move the couch (only the two small ottomans that also have storage) because as you pull the bed down the couch folds under.

Disney's Riviera Resort Tower Studio

While we are here, let’s take a second to admire the fantastic Peter Pan artwork on the wall behind the bed!!!

Disney's Riviera Resort Tower Studio

Also note that on either side of the bed are little books that feature two USB ports and two standard plugs for charging your electronics.

It’s also worth noting that in this living space you will find the new Walt Disney World smart televisions that we first saw in Gran Destino Tower

And while it may seem large compared to the living space of the Tower Studio, the bathroom size is filled with touches and a closet that help make this cozy space functional.

Disney’s Riviera Resort Merchandise

Disney's Riviera Resort Merchandise

DISCLOSURE: I was an invited guest of the Walt Disney World Resort to tour Disney’s Riviera Resort, but all opinions and overuse of exclamation marks are all my own.

Disney’s Riviera Resort, the newest Disney Vacation Club resort, has some amazing resort specific merchandise that you can find inside of the Resort’s gift shop called La Boutique.

What makes the merchandise so special is that it marks a return to Walt Disney World creating Resort specific merchandise, which makes my heart super happy!!!

From plush inspired by the character breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace to rose-gold ears with fabric featuring the Resort’s iconic double R, you can find something for everyone in your family.

What is also unique is that you can purchase pieces from the curated collection of art that you see throughout Disney’s Riviera Resort with a kiosk inside of La Boutique.

Let’s take a look at some of my favorite Disney’s Riviera Resort merchandise pieces!

My Favorite Disney’s Riviera Resort Merchandise

La Boutique Disney's Riviera Resort Merchandise

The Loungefly backpack was SUPER popular with guests at Disney’s Riviera Resort the day I went. These backpacks are a great size for the park with padded shoulder straps. If there is a selection available, make sure you take a moment to find a placement of the pattern that you love!

La Boutique Disney's Riviera Resort Merchandise

So this woven fedora with blue and white stripe band matches the vibe of Disney’s Riviera Resort perfectly! Also, how perfect is the Double R logo on the gold button???

La Boutique Disney's Riviera Resort Merchandise

I am calling it now…these rose gold ears are THE piece of Disney’s Riviera Resort merchandise that will be the most sought after! The pattern on the bow’s fabric feels very Lilly Pulitzer, but the colors are more Tory Burch…I hope that makes as much sense as it did in my mind!

La Boutique Disney's Riviera Resort Merchandise

The Disney’s Riviera Resort luggage features two patterns. On the front you can find the Resort’s name with a vintage steamer feel, and on the back you will find a Hidden Mickey pattern that is similar to those found around the Resort.

La Boutique Disney's Riviera Resort Merchandise

Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort has a character breakfast and the characters wear Resort exclusive costumes, so of course Disney’s Riviera Resort sells plush with the same costumes for you to take home.

La Boutique Disney's Riviera Resort Merchandise

Make sure you check out the Pandora charms for two Disney’s Riviera Resort designs!

This pillow is similar to those found in the rooms at Disney’s Riviera Resort.

La Boutique Disney's Riviera Resort Merchandise

Okay guys…Can we just take a moment to completely appreciate this Disney’s Riviera Resort themed autograph book that also features coloring pages? Thank you!

La Boutique Disney's Riviera Resort Merchandise

This long dress is perfection! The fabric is buttery soft with a natural waist detail that is flattering for most if not all body shapes. I LOVE IT!!!!

La Boutique Disney's Riviera Resort Merchandise

This trio of travel bags featuring the Disney’s Riviera Resort logo and color scheme are fantastic, because they are the right size for bringing jewelry, toiletries, or even phone cables on the go.

A Florida Snowfall and Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort’s holiday tree, showcasing continuously changing lights, returns to brighten up the holidays. Throughout December, guests can experience the transformation of the lobby into a festive holiday scene featuring the state-of-the-art 24-foot-tall Christmas tree. Regularly timed indoor snowfalls complete the holiday scene. On select nights, guests can join Mrs. Claus in the Dolphin lobby for the lighting of the Christmas tree starting at 6 p.m. The ceremony is followed by hot holiday beverages and crafts for kids at Santa’s Tiki Hut.

On select nights starting Nov. 30, elves will deliver milk in a souvenir cup, cookies and a storybook to resort rooms. Life-Size Chocolate Holiday Santa Scene

Constructed entirely of chocolate, this life-size sculpture weighs approximately 2,000 pounds! The sculpture, created by two-time world pastry champion and the resort’s executive pastry chef, Laurent Branlard, is showcased in the lobby of the Swan. It features chocolate Santa sitting in his chair; a 7-foot-tall, 400-pound chocolate nutcracker; chocolate fireplace; chocolate Christmas tree; and chocolate toy train.

The scene will be displayed in the lobby of the resort throughout December and is 100 percent edible. However, any chocolate lovers thinking of taking on the challenge of consuming this enormous sweet should consider that it is 4 million calories! (And unfortunately, the sculpture is not available for tasting.)

Dancing Lights Show

A dazzling musical light show transforms the outdoor causeway each evening into a holiday spectacle with dancing illuminated palm trees and favorite holiday tunes. The performances occur regularly from sunset through 10 p.m.

Magic Keys for Santa on Christmas Eve

How will Santa deliver presents to each guest room without a chimney? With a magic key of course! Children can hang a magic key on their door to help Santa find his way on Christmas Eve. Magic keys are available on Dec. 24 at the concierge desk.

Touring The Copper Creek Villas And Cabins

The Disney Vacation Club will welcome its 14th Resort when Disney’s Copper Creek Villas and Cabins opens July 17, 2017.

While construction is still under way, we were invited to take a look at the progress and to learn more about Walt Disney World’s newest Resort that will offer Deluxe Studio, 1- or 2- Bedroom Villa, 3-Bedroom Grand Villa or a private waterfront Cabin accommodations.

DVC Copper Creek Villas and Cabins

Disney’s Copper Creek Villas and Cabins’ design is based on the Early Settlements and the railway exploration of the Northwest, and in all of the rooms you will find nods to this time period with stainless steel appliances, rail spikes used as hooks for hanging items, and dove tail features on the furniture. The artwork in the room features Brother Bear, the Carolwood Pacific trains, and totems which are reminiscent of the Wilderness Lodge.

Global Wellness Day reminds the entire world of the importance of living well, encompassing everything from exercise and spa treatments to the harmony between body and spirit.  This is a social movement without any commercial purpose, celebrated around the world on the second Saturday of June every year. Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts decided to partner with Global Wellness Day to highlight the company’s vast wellness initiatives and outstanding spas within the portfolio.

During the weekend of Global Wellness Day, June 10-12, 2016, there are several ways Four Seasons Resort Orlando is celebrating the occasion:
