Shaka-Laka Shores to Debut at Adventure Island

Adventure Island, Tampa’s Premier Water Park, will open for the 2023 season on March 4, with the park’s newest addition, Shaka-Laka Shores, opening in late March.

The new splash and play zone, located in the heart of Adventure Island, will feature 25 individual elements and a central kid-friendly play structure bound to entertain and engage even the youngest guests.

Shaka-Laka Shores will greet guests as they enter the park and showcase the waterpark’s overarching tropical paradise theme.

The newest addition will have more than two dozen playful elements, and a variety of interactive aquatic components, all within a zero-depth area – ideal for smaller kids – and additional shaded areas.

The newly constructed area will also house three new private cabanas featuring convenient access to the new area. Shaka-Laka Shores joins a comprehensive list of exciting water slides, Endless Surf’s 17,000-square-foot wave pool, an additional kid-friendly option in Splash Attack, and more.

Serengeti Flyer will have riders swinging into spring at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay when the attraction opens on February 27, 2023.

About Serengeti Flyer

With each swing, riders will soar higher and higher above Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s expansive 65-acre Serengeti Plain while experiencing multiple negative-G moments before plunging back toward the Earth. 

Serengeti Flyer will feature twin dueling arms that soar progressively higher, reaching speeds of 68 mph and a maximum height of 135 feet at the ride’s peak. Guests will be seated back-to-back in rows of 10 across two gondolas, allowing 40 guests to experience the ride at once.

Serengeti Flyer Coming to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay announced Serengeti Flyer as the park’s all-new 2023 attraction.

Serengeti Flyer will be the world’s tallest and fastest ride of its kind, a screamin’ swing, upon opening in spring 2023.

“Serengeti Flyer’s thrilling ride experience is bound to provide riders with a pulse-pounding encounter that can only be found at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay,” said Neal Thurman, Park President of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. “We believe that Serengeti Flyer will be the perfect high-thrill addition to our world-class portfolio of attractions including Iron Gwazi, the Golden Ticket Award Winner for the Best New Roller Coaster in 2022.”

With each swing, riders will soar higher and higher above Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s expansive 65-acre Serengeti Plain while experiencing multiple negative-G moments before plunging back toward the Earth.

Serengeti Flyer will feature twin dueling arms that soar progressively higher, reaching speeds of 68 mph and a maximum height of 135 feet at the ride’s peak.

Guests will be seated back-to-back in rows of 10 across two gondolas, allowing 40 guests to experience the ride at once.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay annual pass members will be among the first to experience the new attraction upon opening in spring 2023.

A colorful parade of costumes will bring the Spooktacular Costume Parade to life.

On this one-of-a-kind catwalk, every kid gets their time to shine! Children 13 and younger are welcome to dress up in costumes.

All costumes are subject to the normal dress code for the park.

In addition, face painting is not permitted on any guests unless it is done by park artists.

Guests 14 and older are not permitted to wear costumes, masks, or hoods to the event.

Storytime

Situated next to Kandy’s picture-perfect pumpkin patch, guests will be immersed in the popular story “Room on the Broom,” where everybody has a place and belongs.
