To help get everyone into the holiday spirit (see what I did
there) the Disney Parks Blog is launching a new, four-part series of Disney Paper Parks inspired by Halloween
and the Haunted Mansion!
These printable activity sheets will
help Disney theme park fans bring a piece of the Disney Parks into their
own homes, complete with instructions about how to create 3D versions of some
of your favorite aspects of Disney Parks.
Today I am really stoked to share the part-one of the Disney
Paper Parks series that includes Haunted Mansion home decorations!
Bring the macabre style of the Haunted Mansion into your home by printing out and crafting these spooky decorations that appeal to a variety of ages and skills. From the bats atop the queue stanchions to paper chains inspired by the Haunted Mansion’s wallpaper, the finishes will set the mood of the mansion in your home.
You also can use this release to transform your home with the spirits of the mansion using grinning ghosts shadow puppets!
Just as the Haunted Mansion is filled with illusions, the shadow puppets include rotating hand shadows, the Hitchhiking Ghosts, the Hatbox Ghost, and more (there’s always room for one more).
The Disney Paper Parks sheets were created for the Disney Parks
Blog by talented Imagineers Stephanie Jazmines and Amy Young, and only require
the use of scissors, glue, and folding along dotted lines in specific
For best results, the Disney Parks Blog recommends printing
the sheets at their actual size, not scaling them to fit the page. We also
recommend adult participation or supervision for those with little ones to help
make this great activity even more enjoyable.
Have fun and I can’t wait to share more Disney Paper Parks: Halloween Editionactivity

Golfing is a great way to spend time outdoors while social distancing, and Walt Disney World Golf, operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management, is offering players the chance to experience their four fantastic courses.
Disney’s Palm Golf Course
Disney’s Palm Golf Course, rated 4 stars by Golf Digest, is an 18-hole championship course that is visually stunning and challenging with 59 bunkers and 9 holes with water hazards.
Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course
Designed in classic Tour style, Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course is the longest of the Walt Disney World Resort golf courses with elevated tees, spacious greens, and wide fairways with 97 bunkers and 11 holes with water hazards.
Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course
Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, conceived by Joe Lee, is an 18-hole classic, country-club style course that has hosted the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, and USGA events.
Due to the current closure of Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, players must have a confirmed tee time reservation before entering the property.
Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Club
Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course is a family-friendly, 9-hole walking course with rolling greens and exciting challenges.
If you are looking for a different spin on the game, you can also take on its 9-Hole FootGolf course that is certified by the American FootGolf League (AFGL), the governing body for the sport of FootGolf in the United States.
FootGolf combines the game of soccer with shortened length golf holes, where the fewest kicks wins the hole.
When you are ready to take your swing, players will notice that significant measures to help ensure the well-being of all who visit and work at Walt Disney World Golf have been implemented.
Most notably, the new “Park and Play” procedure allows players to make an online tee time reservation and pre-pay online. Upon arrival, each player will have a designated sanitized golf cart waiting to take them to the first tee.
Other measures to be aware of include:
Tee time intervals have been adjusted to help aid in social distancing.
Club drop off is not being offered, but the staff will be available if special assistance is required.
Rentals of clubs and shoes are not available.
Tees, pencils, and scorecards can be requested.
The courses no longer have bunker rakes, water coolers, and ball washers.
Flagsticks should not be removed, and raised cups are in use on the greens to make ball retrieval easier.
The Pro Shop is open with special social distancing and sanitizing procedures.
On course food and beverage carts are not in use, however, Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Deli (Magnolia, Palm, and Oak Trail) and Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Cafe (Lake Buena Vista) are available during play without seating for guests.
All transactions must be completed with chip only credit cards.
All facilities have hand sanitizers.

And while there’s no place I would rather be than running around Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there are some really great things you can watch to celebrate Star Wars Day at home!
5 Things to Watch on Star Wars Day
1. Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian
On May 4th Disney+ will be adding some great Star Wars content and features you won’t want to miss!
I am REALLY excited about the new ‘Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian’ 8 episode series that takes fans behind the scenes of the first live-action Star Wars series.
In the series Executive Producer, Jon Favreau along with the cast and crew share an unprecedented look at the making of the series through interviews, never-before-seen footage, and roundtable conversations hosted by Favreau himself.
New Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian episodes will be released every Friday after Star Wars Day.
2. The Final Episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars
I don’t know about your house, but my house is excited for the final episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, “Victory and Death.”
Created by George Lucas and shepherded by Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian), the animated series first aired in 2008 and became an entry point into Star Wars for an entire generation, following fan-favorites like Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Padmé Amidala, while introducing major new characters like Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex. Star Wars: The Clone Wars became a multiple-Emmy Award winner and a favorite among Star Wars fans.
The final season features Ahsoka Tano and Rex on their adventures that lead up to Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
3. Stream Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
TODAYS IS THE DAY!!!!!!
You can now stream the entire Star Wars Saga because Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now available on Disney+.
Though I’ll let you argue about the right order to see them in…
4. Star Wars Concept Art takes over Disney+
This week there is going to be a concept art takeover on Disney+ featuring each Star Wars film’s and series’ artwork.
From Star Wars: A New Hope to The Mandalorian, the updated art will feature pieces from celebrated artists such as the legendary Ralph McQuarrie and Academy Award-winning artist, author, and production designer, Doug Chiang. On the Disney+ home screen, the animated Star Wars brand tile, viewable on web and connected TV devices, gets upgraded with a new animation that honors the signature hyperspace jump.
There are new Star Wars avatars for Disney+!!!
You can now choose from Darth Maul, Jabba the Hutt, Bo-Katan, D-O, Captain Rex, a porg, and 332nd trooper.
5. Watch YouTube videos of Star Wars attractions in the parks!
Since we all can’t be in the parks for Star Wars Day, watch your favorite Star Wars attractions on YouTube!
Today marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, and Disney has been honoring the important role that nature plays in igniting joy during these unprecedented times for the last month by sharing educational information about this extraordinary planet we inhabit.
And for over 30 years the Disney Parks have been dedicated to environmental and sustainability initiatives, implementing programs in support of waste and emissions reduction, and water and resource conservation.
They are continually exploring, testing, and implementing new ways to turn everyday occurrences into sustainable experiences.
These efforts have led to incredible progress towards conserving natural resources – protecting the magic of nature for the future of our business, community, and the planet.
This year also marks a special year for several anniversaries for The Walt Disney Company.
The Disney Conservation Fund (DCF) is proudly celebrating 25 wonderful years of supporting nonprofit organizations globally in their efforts to save wildlife, inspire action, and protect the planet.
The Walt Disney Company is also celebrating one year since welcoming National Geographic into the Disney family.
National Geographic recently launched NatGeo@Home to support families and caregivers during the COVID-19 crisis.
The hub is home to free educational resources and content to help parents and educators keep kids engaged while schools are closed, including an exciting neighborhood safari.
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex to Celebrate 50th Anniversary of Apollo 13 Mission with Virtual Watch Party
This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 13 mission – made famous for its “successful failure” by the 1995 film named for the mission, starring Tom Hanks, Kathleen Quinlan, Kevin Bacon, Gary Sinise and Ed Harris. Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation want the country to come together for a virtual celebration of these brave men and their families.
Join in by tuning in to watch the classic film at the time of launch in 1970 – 2:13 p.m. EST on Saturday, April 11 – via a favorite streaming service, and share your watch party pictures by tagging @kennedyspacecenter on Instagram and following #Apollo13inquarantine on Twitter.
The real men behind the Apollo 13 mission are astronauts James (Jim) Lovell Jr. (Commander), Fred Haise (Lunar Module Pilot) and John (Jack) Swigert Jr. (Command Module Pilot). The crew launched via a Saturn V rocket at 2:13 p.m. on April 11, 1970 from the iconic Launchpad 39A at Kennedy Space Center. Though the mission of reaching the moon, and conducting moon walks was not realized, the mission was successful in its safe return of the crew and learnings applied to future missions.
“The Apollo 13 mission has been an inspiration to generations of space explorers – and continues to inspire future space explorers today,” said Therrin Protze, chief operating officer, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. “The crew’s story of resourcefulness and perseverance in a time of distress is especially meaningful today as we deal with this global pandemic.”
Millions of people around the world are at home and looking for ways to spend time together (and apart!) and the Disney Parks have been thrilled to see how fans and families are creating their own “only Disney” moments in their daily lives.
Now the parks are thrilled to share an even easier way for kids, families, and fans to access #DisneyMagicMoments like these, all from the comfort of your own home.
Disney has launched www.DisneyMagicMoments.com, a website where you will find fun and engaging Disney content, stories, and resources for free from Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars, to Walt Disney Animation Studios, National Geographic, Disney Parks, and beyond.
Keep an eye out for even more virtual pixie dust, and make sure to use #DisneyMagicMoments to show how you’re bringing the Disney magic to your life at home!
