This weekend marks the end of the Halloween and spooky season for those on the go in the parks October 29-31, 2021.

While I am going to be super sad to see my favorite time of the year come to a close, I am happy because it means the holiday festivities are just around the corner!!!

Halloween Horror Nights has returned to the Universal Studios Resort Orlando daring guests and celebrating 30 years of fear on select nights through October 31.

For its highly-anticipated return, Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights is unleashing a legion of horror legends, pop culture greats, and haunting original stories – many from the event’s esteemed history – in 10 disturbingly realistic haunted houses, five nightmarish scare zones, and outrageous live entertainment, with diabolical surprises lurking around every corner…

The LEGOLAND Florida Resort has announced that is bringing back the spooky, kooky fun of Brick or Treat every weekend in October.

Brick or Treat activities include trick or treating around the Theme Park complete with frightfully fun character interactions, larger-than-afterlife LEGO builds, and meet-and-greet opportunities with ghoulish LEGO characters making appearances on event dates only.

BRICK OR TREAT happens Saturdays and Sundays on October 30 and 31, 2021.

Disney’s After Hours Boo Bash is a special ticketed event that takes place at the Magic Kingdom on select nights until October 31, 2021, and like any new event, and I am sharing what you should know before you go to make the most of your Halloween fun!

Theme Park Reservation & Mask Policies

Walt Disney World

  • Walt Disney World has updated their mask policy for guests ages 2 and up

– Masks are required regardless of vaccination status
– Masks must be worn while indoors
– Masks must be worn on Disney buses, monorails, and Disney Skyliner
– The new policy includes attractions & their queues
– Masks remain optional in outdoor common areas

  • Walt Disney World has opened up more Park Pass availability for summer visits to the park. So while you still need a reservation to enter the parks, it is now easier to snag one.

SeaWorld Orlando

  • In accordance with updated guidance from the Centers for Disease and Control (CDC) and the recommendations of local officials, face coverings are recommended to be worn in designated, indoor spaces regardless of the vaccination status of SeaWorld Orlando guests and employees.
  • The CDC has indicated that fully vaccinated people can be in outdoor areas without the need for a face covering.
  • The CDC still recommends that people get fully vaccinated and that unvaccinated people use preventative measures such as face coverings and social distancing.
  • For special interactions with certain animals, unvaccinated people will be required to wear a face covering.
  • SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica are both no longer requiring reservations…if you are planning on going to Aquatica during the weekend GET THERE EARLY as parking is running out before noon each day!

Universal Orlando

  • The Universal Orlando Resort encourages all guests to follow CDC guidelines and local directives to wear face coverings while indoors across Universal Orlando Resort.
  • Face coverings are optional while outdoors.
  • All guests are ecouraged to keep a safe distance between travel parties.
  • Universal Orlando Resort hasn’t required reservations, but you’ll want to keep an eye one their official twitter – @UniversalORL – for any capacity or operational updates

Disney’s After Hours Boo Bash is a special ticketed event that takes place at the Magic Kingdom on select nights until October 31, 2021, and like any new event, and I am sharing what you should know before you go to make the most of your Halloween fun!

Theme Park Reservation & Mask Policies

Walt Disney World

  • Walt Disney World has updated their mask policy for guests ages 2 and up

– Masks are required regardless of vaccination status
– Masks must be worn while indoors
– Masks must be worn on Disney buses, monorails, and Disney Skyliner
– The new policy includes attractions & their queues
– Masks remain optional in outdoor common areas

  • Walt Disney World has opened up more Park Pass availability for summer visits to the park. So while you still need a reservation to enter the parks, it is now easier to snag one.

SeaWorld Orlando

  • In accordance with updated guidance from the Centers for Disease and Control (CDC) and the recommendations of local officials, face coverings are recommended to be worn in designated, indoor spaces regardless of the vaccination status of SeaWorld Orlando guests and employees.
  • The CDC has indicated that fully vaccinated people can be in outdoor areas without the need for a face covering.
  • The CDC still recommends that people get fully vaccinated and that unvaccinated people use preventative measures such as face coverings and social distancing.
  • For special interactions with certain animals, unvaccinated people will be required to wear a face covering.
  • SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica are both no longer requiring reservations…if you are planning on going to Aquatica during the weekend GET THERE EARLY as parking is running out before noon each day!

Universal Orlando

  • The Universal Orlando Resort encourages all guests to follow CDC guidelines and local directives to wear face coverings while indoors across Universal Orlando Resort.
  • Face coverings are optional while outdoors.
  • All guests are ecouraged to keep a safe distance between travel parties.
  • Universal Orlando Resort hasn’t required reservations, but you’ll want to keep an eye one their official twitter – @UniversalORL – for any capacity or operational updates

Now, this October will include even more reasons to party at the Theme Park built for kids!

NEW! THE LEGOLAND STORY: OPENING OCTOBER 15

The LEGOLAND Story will immerse LEGO lovers in the unexpected origin story of everyone’s favorite brick. Guests will also learn about the ever-evolving theme park experience and how LEGOLAND Parks were built, brick by brick!

In this all-new attraction, LEGO history comes to life with playful, photo-worthy displays, including an original ride vehicle from Cypress Gardens’ Triple Hurricane and an interactive Minifigure trading wall. Floor-to-ceiling colorful graphics illustrate chapters of LEGO history, including the first LEGO toy ever created and the original minifigure. After exploring the walkthrough experience, guests will build alongside the Master Builders’ Workshop with hands-on brick activities that are sure to inspire the builders of tomorrow. In the Six Blue Brick Build Experience, LEGO lovers will learn how six 2 x 4 bricks can snap into more than 915 million combinations!

The official winning LEGO model from LEGO MASTERS Season Two, along with the second and third place models, is also now on display at this new attraction. Here, fans can get 360-degree views of these colorful, show-stopping masterpieces.

LEGOLAND Coffee Co.

The smell of freshly brewed coffee and fluffy pastries will fill the air in the entryway to this immersive attraction. The all-new café, LEGOLAND Coffee Co., will feature new flash-chilled iced coffee and seasonal flavors. Delicious hand-held breakfast items like tavern ham, baby swiss and egg croissant sandwiches, sundried tomato, and spinach frittata wraps, and triple-smoked bacon quiche cups are the perfect way to start a day of adventure at LEGOLAND.

BIRTHDAY BASH PARTY POP-UPS: JOIN THE PARTY OCTOBER 15

Families are invited to join in the brick-tastic birthday bash on October 15 to dance along with their favorite LEGO characters and friends. Party-packed play moments, surprise character appearances and pop-up entertainment will make this one awesome party!

You can’t have a birthday without cake, so LEGOLAND built the BIGGEST LEGO birthday cake EVER created to commemorate the big 1-0. This ginormous LEGO cake is the perfect place to snap your party picture! The more-than-20-foot cake is on display now through the end of this year.

As if that wasn’t sweet enough, our chefs cooked up something special for our big day. What’s the most famously delicious treat LEGOLAND? That’s right, Granny’s Apple Fries! Our chefs could not dream of celebrating our 10th birthday without paying homage to the fan favorite, and thus the Apple Fries Cupcake was born! Don’t be late to the party–this sweet treat will ONLY be available at Granny’s Apple Fries on our birthday, October 15. In addition to this epic birthday treat, the baristas at the all-new LEGOLAND Coffee Co. are brewing up a Birthday Cake Latte that will also only be available on October 15!

This fall the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is offering a menu of gastronomic delights during its Taste of Space festival from October 8 to November 5, 2021.

During the event, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex eateries will feature delectable, seasonal food and local brews offered throughout the visitor complex.

As a special finale event on November 5, a progressive-style dinner, Taste of Space: A Culinary Journey, will take guests on a gastronomical walking adventure throughout Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m, the seasonal four-course meal will be served under the stars, with each course complemented by a wine or beer pairing. After dinner, local bars including Fishlips Waterfront Bar and Grill and 4th Street Fillin Station will showcase their take on a celestial cocktail in a “Marstini shake off” contest under space shuttle Atlantis.

Tickets are $159 and include dinner, beer/wine samples, live entertainment, and a commemorative pin. Bruce Melnick and other astronauts will also be in attendance.

Disney Genie, Disney Genie+, and Lightning Lanes Oh My!

Just a few hours ago the Walt Disney World Resort announced that three new planning tools will be launching on October 19, 2021!

Disney Genie is a personalized itinerary creator that effortlessly and smartly maps out an entire day inspired by the things you love – helping you make the most of your park time so you can have more fun. 

Disney Genie+ is an upgrade to the complimentary version of Disney Genie service, for $15 per ticket per day, and includes the use of the lightning lanes at select attractions, Disney PhotoPass lenses, and Audio Tours.

Lightning Lanes can be purchased a-la-carte to save time waiting at the premiere attractions by park.

Return of Entertainment to the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT

Early birds at Magic Kingdom Park are now starting their day with “Let the Magic Begin” on the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage, and the ragtime piano player at Casey’s Corner is once again tickling the ivory keys on Main Street, U.S.A.

Over at EPCOT, World Showcase travelers are dancing to the Canadian rhythms of Alberta Bound, laughing at the antics of Sergio in Italy, and experiencing the majestic percussion of the Taiko drummers of Matsuriza in Japan.

Next week even more entertainment will be returning to the Walt Disney World Resort!

If you’re ready for scares from the comfort of your car, The Haunted Road, a drive-thru Halloween attraction at Corn Maze Orlando, has returned for its second year on select nights through November. 

The immersive outdoor theater show brings a mix of familiar characters, twisted creatures, and unexpected scares to horror fans visiting the social distance-friendly event.

After launching in 2020, the cast and crew quickly realized everything was not as it seemed. Rumor spread that tortured souls who died on the land materialize when the sun sets, resulting in paranormal phenomena and eerie occurrences.

Through trial and error, we learned how to disrupt these spirits and conjure up on-demand ghost sightings for travelers to witness. But proceed at your own risk… it is unclear if the spirits remain to ward off future victims or lure unsuspecting travelers to join them as part of The Haunted Road.

Also New this year is The Barnyard, an add-on experience, that has a Haunt Market, the Ol’ Watering Hole with beverages, BBQ, and of course scares with roaming performers and the Abandoned Butcher Barn haunted experience.

Then, grab your Lederhosen for Frank & Steins Ooky Kooky Octoberfest featuring live music from “Polkageist,” Gatorland’s own undead polka band as well as German beer and food for purchase.

The extra spooky  “Swamp Ghost’s Monster Museum” returns this year!  Dare to enter Swamp Ghost’s lair and learn the origins of history’s most infamous monsters… and maybe come face to face with a ghoul or two! 

All this plus multiple themed haunt zones, interactive characters, animal meet-and-greets, a Children’s Halloween Costume Parade at 1 pm with treat bags for all kids who participate!

A Petrified Forest invited guests to venture into their feast with three different outdoor scare trails in the dark, haunted forest filled with terrifying beasts and nightmares. 

You’ll want to plan for a night out as there are food trucks, live entertainment, and fun packed front yard activities.

On special Total Eclipse Nights – which require a signed waiver for anyone under 18 – monsters can even touch the guests.

Theme Park Reservation & Mask Policies

Walt Disney World

  • Walt Disney World has updated their mask policy for guests ages 2 and up

– Masks are required regardless of vaccination status
– Masks must be worn while indoors
– Masks must be worn on Disney buses, monorails, and Disney Skyliner
– The new policy includes attractions & their queues
– Masks remain optional in outdoor common areas

  • Walt Disney World has opened up more Park Pass availability for summer visits to the park. So while you still need a reservation to enter the parks, it is now easier to snag one.

SeaWorld Orlando

  • In accordance with updated guidance from the Centers for Disease and Control (CDC) and the recommendations of local officials, face coverings are recommended to be worn in designated, indoor spaces regardless of the vaccination status of SeaWorld Orlando guests and employees.
  • The CDC has indicated that fully vaccinated people can be in outdoor areas without the need for a face covering.
  • The CDC still recommends that people get fully vaccinated and that unvaccinated people use preventative measures such as face coverings and social distancing.
  • For special interactions with certain animals, unvaccinated people will be required to wear a face covering.
  • SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica are both no longer requiring reservations…if you are planning on going to Aquatica during the weekend GET THERE EARLY as parking is running out before noon each day!

Universal Orlando

  • The Universal Orlando Resort encourages all guests to follow CDC guidelines and local directives to wear face coverings while indoors across Universal Orlando Resort.
  • Face coverings are optional while outdoors.
  • All guests are ecouraged to keep a safe distance between travel parties.
  • Universal Orlando Resort hasn’t required reservations, but you’ll want to keep an eye one their official twitter – @UniversalORL – for any capacity or operational updates

Zoo Boo Bash at the Central Florida Zoo

The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is always home to animals and family fun, but just in time for the spooky season, things are getting a little WILDER.

Monsters, princesses and animals of all kinds will dust off their Halloween costumes for the fan-favorite Zoo event, Zoo Boo Bash presented by Orlando Health.

“We pride ourselves on the Zoo being the perfect place for family fun every day,” said Stephanie Williams, Zoo Director. “Zoo Boo Bash really embraces that. Parents are always looking for a safe and fun place for their kids to show off their costumes and trick-or-treat, and our partner, Orlando Health, ensures this event always is.”

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on select dates, October 23-24 and October 30-31.

The Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic offers guests unlimited tastings at more than 20 food stations featuring culinary selections from the hotel’s award-winning restaurants and more than 100 beverages amidst a festive backdrop of live entertainment on the hotel’s scenic causeway.

UPDATE: Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining has been extended until October 17th!

Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining is back to showcase some of Orlando’s best cuisine while supporting local restaurants and charities from August 27 to October 3.

During this year’s Foodie dream, more than 80 of Orlando’s fine dining restaurants will offer a $37 three-course, prix-fixe dinner menu.

“Now in its 16th year, Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining continues to evolve with new features to make  it easier for diners to research restaurant options, share plans and recommendations with others and even create a weekend getaway,” said Casandra Matej, president and CEO for Visit Orlando. “Magical Dining is an important program for our community because of both the money raised for  charitable organizations and the support it provides to our local restaurants, who are still working  hard to recover from a challenging year.” 

Menus for most participating restaurants are now live at  MagicalDining.com so diners can plan ahead, make reservations and explore exclusive hotel offers as part of the new Magical Nights program enhancement.

More NEW Magical Dining Features 

New additions to Magical Dining make it easier to explore the restaurant options and keep track of favorites.

Chefs now have greater flexibility to offer exclusive menu options and six new  restaurants join this year’s lineup: 

  • My Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining Favorites: The updated MagicalDining.com website includes a new tool for diners to “favorite” must-try restaurants, view a  customized map with their selections, and share their list with friends, making it easier than ever to create a Magical Dining game plan. 
  • Chef’s Creation: Participating restaurants now have the chance to add a bonus  Magical Dining menu option that is not offered on the regular menu. This exclusive option gives chefs even more creative freedom and guests additional options to choose from during their Magical Dining experience.

  • New Restaurants for 2021: Six restaurants have joined the program for the first time this year: 310 Lakeside, 310 Park South, Adega Gaucha, Aurora at the Celeste,  Russell’s on Lake Ivanhoe, and RusTeak at Thornton Park.   • Takeout options are returning to this year’s program, giving foodies the flexibility to enjoy dinner from some of the program’s participating restaurants in the comfort of their home or hotel room. Several restaurants are also offering vegan options.

Dining with a Purpose 

Every year, Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining contributes one dollar from each meal served through the program to local charities. This year’s donated funds will focus on two organizations – Pathlight HOME and IDignity – that help combat homelessness in Central Florida and facilitate access to necessary services. More information can be found here.  

With the mission to end homelessness, Pathlight HOME provides affordable housing and offers an employment resource center to help low-income and homeless individuals in Central Florida get back on their feet, while IDignity assists disadvantaged Central Floridians in obtaining legal identification documents often required to access education, employment, housing, banking,  social services, proper healthcare, and numerous additional opportunities.
