Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining is BACK

Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining is returning for its 17th year with 102 restaurants offering three-course, prix-fixe dinner menus for $40 from August 26 to October 2, 2022.

This year’s roster is larger than ever, with 16 restaurants new to Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining, including six restaurants recently recognized by the MICHELIN Guide.

In addition to providing Orlando restaurant goers with delicious meals, the annual dining program supports area restaurants and donates one dollar from every meal served to a local nonprofit organization.

“Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining celebrates our destination’s award-winning culinary scene by bringing more than 100 of Orlando’s best restaurants together to offer prix-fixe menus for dinners to explore new restaurants,” said Casandra Matej, president & CEO of Visit Orlando. “The program continues to be a source of support for our local businesses and provides funds for charities right here in our community. This year, one dollar from every meal will benefit The Able Trust, providing valuable funds to an organization making an impact on the critical workforce issue right here in our community.”

Dining for a Good Cause

Each year, Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining selects nonprofit organizations impacting the Orlando community to serve as charity beneficiaries. This year, Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining charity committee focused on identifying organizations supporting the Central Florida workforce. One dollar from every meal will benefit The Able Trust, an organization helping to expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

To ensure this donation has a widespread impact throughout the community, Visit Orlando will also award a $2,000 donation to one local nonprofit in each of Orange County’s six commission districts that also supports workforce development.

New and Award-Winning Restaurants for 2022

The newest additions to Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining include 7593 Chophouse, Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine (four locations in Dr. Phillips, Lake Nona, Winter Garden, and Winter Park), BoVine Steakhouse, Cedar’s Restaurant, HAVEN, La Boucherie, The Hampton Social, The Monroe, The Wilson, Turci Pasta and Wa Sushi.

Additionally, six restaurants were recently recognized by the MICHELIN Guide, including Four Flamingos, A Richard Blaise Florida Kitchen (a new addition to Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining), Kabooki Sushi (Milk District location), Maxine’s on Shine, The Ravenous Pig, The Strand Food & Drink and Z Asian Vietnamese Kitchen (also a new addition).

Magical Nights Staycation Hotel Deals

Visit Orlando’s Magical Nights is back this year and encourages diners to turn their night on the town into an affordable, end-of-the-summer Orlando staycation. After enjoying a three-course meal at one of Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining restaurants, enjoy an overnight stay at one of the destination’s amenity-filled hotels and resorts, providing special savings for locals and Florida residents. Motor Over to the Orlando Boat Show 2022

The Marine Industry Association of Central Florida (MIACF) presents the Orlando Boat Show, a three-day event August 12-14, 2022, at the Orange County Convention Center, North Hall B.

With boating growing in popularity, the highly anticipated show features 22 of Central Florida’s top boat dealers representing over 80 manufacturers with approximately 400 boats on display.

The Orlando Boat show features a wide variety of boats, including bowriders, center consoles, deck boats, flats boats, freshwater fishing boats, jet boats, pontoon boats, and surf boats to fit any lifestyle and occasion.

“The Orlando Boat Show is designed for new and avid boaters to explore the latest in boating trends, vessels, water activities, and fishing,” said Jeff Husby, president of Regal & Nautique of Orlando and the president of MIACF. “We are committed to raising the professionalism of the boating industry in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere.”

The Queen of the Show is the 2023 HCB 53′ Sueños, a large center console yacht with a sophisticated design to perfectly balance speed, ride, comfort, and all of the luxury of “dream” yacht needs.

The bow area is dual purpose with seating to accommodate guests on the forward-facing lounger or around bow seats and table that convert to a large sun pad for lazy days catching rays or remove the cushions for a fully functional fishing platform.

Boardwalk Bowl Hosts 20th Anniversary celebration

Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando is turning 20 this August, and the entertainment center is gearing up for a month-long celebration, including events, bowling specials, giveaways, and more.

August Specials

Every weekday in August, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., children 15 and under can bowl two free games (registration required).

Mondays through Thursdays, Boardwalk Bowl will offer $2 bowling games from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and $20.02 lanes per hour in honor of its opening year.

Giveaways will be held each weekend throughout the month with prizes such as arcade cards, bowling games, and food.

Party on the Boardwalk

The celebration’s highlight will be Party on the Boardwalk, a large, indoor carnival.

On Saturday, August 27, and Sunday, August 28, guests can enjoy live music throughout the venue, $2 bowling games, bounce houses, carnival games, and food. Kids will love the face painter, balloon artist, and magician.

At 1 p.m. each day of the event, Boardwalk Bowl guests can visit a special meet and greet with live mermaids and have their picture taken.

National Bowling Day

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, the entertainment center offers two-for-one bowling games in honor of National Bowling Day.

College Knights Kick-Off Party

To start the school year off right, Boardwalk Bowl is hosting its annual College Knights Kick-Off Party on Thursday, August 25, from 9 p.m. to midnight. College students can enjoy bowling games, shoe rentals, and domestic drafts for just $2 each.

More than 25 festival food and wine marketplaces located throughout EPCOT celebrate the best in global food and drink. This year, the creative Disney culinary teams have dreamed up unique dishes as nearly one third of the menu offerings are new. Here is a sampling of the many flavors:

Debuting this year is The Fry Basket featuring French fries presented with unique savory and sweet toppings, including the Fry Flight, which features three different flavors: Sea Salt and Malt Vinegar Fries; Barbecued Bacon Fries with smoked aïoli; and Sweet Potato Casserole Fries with candied pecans, toasted marshmallow cream, and caramel whisky

Engaging Experiences Encourage Exploration
Guests can have even more fun exploring the festival by participating in interactive experiences (separate purchase required):

In Emile’s Fromage Montage, cheese lovers can take a walk on the tasty side to sample cheese dishes served in inventive ways. To participate, guests must purchase five different items from the list of qualifying dishes available at select Festival Marketplaces (found in the Festival Passport) and collect a special stamp from each location they visit. Then, guests can receive a special dessert served in a festival cup.
Kids of all ages can embark on a Ratatouille-inspired adventure that’s très magnifique in Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak. In this savory scavenger hunt, guests purchase a map and stickers from select festival merchandise locations (while supplies last) and then explore EPCOT to find Remy statuettes to match their stickers to the map. Whether they search for the ingredients or not, guests may return their map to redemption locations in the park to receive a festival keepsake.
New this year! From Sept. 29-Oct. 31 (or while supplies last), special Halloween fun for the whole family is available in Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit. With the purchase of a map and stickers, guests can search around EPCOT to look for hidden decorative pumpkins themed to Disney characters. Whether they search for the pumpkins or not, guests may return their map to redemption locations in the park to receive a small festival keepsake item.

This year, the festival merchandise team is serving up five new collections to savor. Guests can visit Festival Markets throughout EPCOT to shop for official event items, including:

Free Beer is Back at SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando wants to help park guests cool down on a sweltering summer day with an ice-cold beer on the house during their visit.

Guests can visit the Waterway Grill Bar to receive one complimentary 7-ounce beer per visit.

The complimentary domestic and seasonal beers will be available for guests 21 years of age and older through August 4, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. to one hour before the park closes.

Electric Ocean, SeaWorld’s electrifying summer event featuring both daytime and nighttime entertainment, eats and fun for guests of all ages, returns this summer bigger and better than ever before.

Summer Celebration Debuts at Busch Gardens

Summer Celebration Busch Gardens Tampa Bay 2022

An all-new Summer Celebration, included with theme park admission, will debut at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay this Memorial Day Weekend!

The park will feature a variety of entertainment throughout the day, including the return of “Cirque Electric”, and “Gwazi Beats”, a new atmospheric show combining drums, dancers, and stilt-walkers in a pulse-pounding display of music and dance. Plus, the award-winning “Turn It Up!” will resume daily operations in the Moroccan Palace Theater.

To celebrate the summer season, guests 21+ can enjoy a complimentary beer sample daily at Pantopia Drinks & Snacks from May 31 to August 7.

For those craving something sweet to beat the heat, the Moroccan Delights ice cream parlor will reopen with a refreshed look and mouth-watering treats like handcrafted thrill shakes, ice cream floats, specialty sundaes, and more.

After nightfall, the park glows with unique theming, entertainers, and the thrill of conquering coasters in the dark like the all-new Iron Gwazi.

Guests can dance to DJ beats throughout the park, including a newly themed block party plaza presented by Coca-Cola.

For an epic finale to a thrilling day of adventure, guests will be drawn to the vibrant energy radiating from a unique new production on the Festival Field.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Returns this Fall

I am SOOOOO excited to share that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is returning to the Magic Kingdom Park!!!!

This fall, ghosts, and ghouls of all ages are invited to don their favorite costumes and celebrate all things haunted during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Taking place on 37 select nights starting August 12 through October 31, 2022, this special event haunts Magic Kingdom Park after normal park operating hours from 7 p.m. to midnight.

As a part of this limited-capacity event, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party attendees will encounter event-exclusive entertainment, notorious Disney villains, frightfully delicious menu items, and more!

The Headless Horseman will ride his ghostly steed down Main Street, U.S.A. as a prelude to “Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade,” which features floats filled with Disney Characters dressed in their Halloween best, Disney villains and the Haunted Mansion graveyard diggers.

What’s Halloween without candy? During Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, guests can go trick-or-treating for M&M’S, SKITTLES, SNICKERS, and other Halloween favorites at locations throughout Magic Kingdom Park. And new this year, guests will also receive a reusable trick-or-treat bag featuring a keepsake 50th Anniversary celebration and Halloween design.

The Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington, will host “Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular.” This can’t-miss nighttime extravaganza features projections, special effects and lighting mixed with fireworks, music and Disney characters.

2022 DoD Warrior Games at Walt Disney World

The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command has announced that the 2022 DoD Warrior Games will take place at the Walt Disney World Resort this August!

Disney shares a deep appreciation for the Armed Forces, their families and veterans. It’s an appreciation that started with Walt and Roy and has continued throughout our nearly 100-year history. We’re honored to continue that proud tradition by welcoming these heroic wounded warriors and their families to the Most Magical Place on Earth for this inspiring competition.

What are the DoD Warrior Games coming to Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex?

The Department of Defense Warrior Games is an annual event, first held in 2010, that celebrates the resiliency and dedication of wounded, ill, and injured active duty and veteran U.S. military service members.

Hundreds of elite athletes, including those from international allied nations, compete in adaptive sporting events such as wheelchair basketball, cycling, indoor rowing, and wheelchair rugby, among others.

The DoD Warrior Games serve as a way to enhance the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded warriors by providing them exposure to adaptive sports. Participation in the Warrior Games represents the culmination of a service member’s involvement in an adaptive sports program and demonstrates the incredible potential of wounded warriors through competitive sports.

The games are open to the public, welcoming the community and the world to be a part of the excitement and support of these heroes.

The Walt Disney World has a long history of supporting our country’s military service and will continue this legacy by hosting the 2022 Veterans Institute Summit presented by Disney Institute on August 19-20 also at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.

The summit is designed to empower companies to build effective veteran hiring, training, and support of their own.

The two-day forum will include speakers from Disney’s Heroes Work Here initiative, U.S. government officials, veterans, and military spouses, among many others.
