Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is excited to announce the lineup for the 10^thBroadway in Orlando season.

The dynamic 9-show lineup in Walt Disney Theater features the return of three blockbuster musicals Annie, Disney’s Aladdin and Les Misérables, and the Broadway in Orlando premieres of six new shows, including Funny Girl, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Jagged Little Pill, Mrs. Doubtfire, the new adaptation of Peter Pan and the brand new Clue–the latter five of which are debuting their first national tours.

Florida Theatrical Association in partnership with Broadway Across America and the Dr. Phillips Center presents the AdventHealth Broadway in Orlando 23/24 Season.

The arts center’s Walt Disney Theater has been home to Broadway in Orlando for the past seven seasons, following Broadway’s two seasons at the former Bob Carr Theater before the Dr. Phillips Center opened in 2014.

Shaka-Laka Shores to Debut at Adventure Island

Adventure Island, Tampa’s Premier Water Park, will open for the 2023 season on March 4, with the park’s newest addition, Shaka-Laka Shores, opening in late March.

The new splash and play zone, located in the heart of Adventure Island, will feature 25 individual elements and a central kid-friendly play structure bound to entertain and engage even the youngest guests.

Shaka-Laka Shores will greet guests as they enter the park and showcase the waterpark’s overarching tropical paradise theme.

The newest addition will have more than two dozen playful elements, and a variety of interactive aquatic components, all within a zero-depth area – ideal for smaller kids – and additional shaded areas.

The newly constructed area will also house three new private cabanas featuring convenient access to the new area. Shaka-Laka Shores joins a comprehensive list of exciting water slides, Endless Surf’s 17,000-square-foot wave pool, an additional kid-friendly option in Splash Attack, and more.

The opening of Shaka-Laka Shores and recently opened attractions, Rapids Racer and Wahoo Remix is part of the waterpark’s largest expansion in more than four decades. Serengeti Flyer Coming to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has announced Serengeti Flyer as the park’s all-new 2023 attraction.

Serengeti Flyer will be the world’s tallest and fastest ride of its kind, a screamin’ swing, upon opening in spring 2023.

With each swing, riders will soar higher and higher above Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s expansive 65-acre Serengeti Plain while experiencing multiple negative-G moments before plunging back toward the Earth.

Serengeti Flyer will feature twin dueling arms that soar progressively higher, reaching speeds of 68 mph and a maximum height of 135 feet at the ride’s peak. Guests will be seated back-to-back in rows of 10 across two gondolas, allowing 40 guests to experience the ride at once.

Pipeline: The Surf Coaster Coming to Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando has announced the theme park’s NEWEST roller coaster, Pipeline: The Surf Coaster, opening in the Spring of 2023.

This attraction is the world’s first “Surf Coaster.” Riders will feel the power of the ocean in a whole new way, making “Pipeline” every thrill-seeker’s newest obsession.

“Pipeline” will take them on an unparalleled journey and keep them returning for more.

“We are always looking for exciting ways to take thrills to a new level. This first-of-its-kind roller coaster will be the perfect addition to the already incredible lineup of attractions at SeaWorld Orlando,” said Kyle Miller, SeaWorld Orlando Park President. “SeaWorld Orlando will be the only place in the world to ride a roller coaster like this and we welcome everyone looking for the chance to experience it.”

First-of-Its-Kind Surfing Launch and Moving Seats

The innovative design elements that make this a first-of-its-kind roller coaster are the surfing launch and “wave jumping” motions that riders will experience.

The unique surfboard-shaped ride vehicle will give riders an immersive experience from the moment it starts.

They will be secured on the roller coaster in a surfing position and launched at top speeds, feeling like they are catching a wave.

Riders will then feel like they are hanging loose when their seats rise and fall to mimic the sensation of riding on a wave while sending them through several gnarly twists and turns.

“Pipeline: The Surf Coaster” Will Reach Radical Heights and Speeds

Each rider will get the rush of cutting through waves as they race up to heights of 110 feet in the air and feel like they are about to wipe out when they go upside down on a wave curl along the 2,950 feet of track.

“Pipeline” will send riders on a journey reaching max speeds of 60 miles per hour, with five different airtime moments lasting a total of 1 minute and 50 seconds.

The ride has a projected height requirement of 54”, designed by Bolliger & Mabillard Consulting Engineers, Inc., based in Switzerland.

“Pipeline” will be the seventh roller coaster at SeaWorld Orlando, reinforcing the theme park’s reputation as the Coaster Capital of Orlando.

It joins an impressive roster of coasters that include Mako, which was voted the #1 Best Roller Coaster by the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice poll, and Ice Breaker, which was voted the #1 New Attraction by the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice poll.

“Pipeline” will be the latest in a string of top-notch roller coasters that continue to break the mold and bring thrill-seekers from around the world to SeaWorld Orlando.

Magic Kingdom Park

Ready to begin … Those words will fill the air with the popular anthem “Happily Ever After” when an updated nighttime spectacular lights up the skies at Magic Kingdom Park in 2023.

That won’t be the only addition lighting up the skies at Magic Kingdom Park. Neon lights and speeding lightcycles will fill Tomorrowland as your chance to enter the grid with TRON Lightcycle / Run arrives in spring 2023.

You’ll climb aboard your very own Lightcycle and race through a dark, computerized world alongside your family and friends.

As you swoop and swerve throughout the course, your team will compete to be the first to race through eight Energy Gates and claim victory.

Foolish mortals, prepare yourselves for a new happy haunt at the Haunted Mansion.

The Hatbox Ghost has heard your calls and will materialize next year.

You may recognize this popular character from the attraction at Disneyland Resort in California.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take you along with Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen and their friends as they host a party at Tiana’s Place for the people of New Orleans.

EPCOT

The multi-year transformation of EPCOT will soon reach another major milestone with the completion of the World Celebration neighborhood in late 2023.

With lush, green space for you to relax, plus the opening of Communicore Hall and Communicore Plaza, this central location in the park will be the new home for festivals and the perfect space to gather with family and friends.

It will also be home to Dreamers Point, an inspiring new area where you can view the new Walt Disney statue called “Walt the Dreamer.”

Over in World Nature – the EPCOT neighborhood dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty, awe, and balance of the natural world – we’re excited to share that Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, will also open in late 2023.

The new exploration trail will allow guests to learn about the story of water on our planet.

As you may have seen through Moana’s bond with the ocean, water has a mind of its own, and you’ll get to interact with it throughout this attraction.

Imagination has always been a core theme at EPCOT, with attractions and experiences that push the boundaries.

One key character always comes to mind when we think about imagination, and he’s coming to life in a whole new way by the end of next year.

As we look ahead to the future and the celebration of the Walt Disney Company’s 100^th anniversary, we’re excited to share that a new nighttime spectacular is in the works for EPCOT.

The new show is currently in development and will debut late next year, carrying on the park’s legacy of inspiring nighttime entertainment that unites guests around World Showcase Lagoon.

Pixar Day at Sea on Select 2023 Sailings

Disney Cruise Line guests will be immersed in the ever-unfolding stories of their favorite toys, monsters, and heroes during the all-new Pixar Day at Sea aboard special sailings on the Disney Fantasy in early 2023.

Featuring one-of-a-kind experiences, this day-long celebration on select seven-night voyages will bring to life the beloved Pixar tales of “Toy Story,” “Monsters, Inc.,” “The Incredibles,” “Finding Nemo” and more exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests. Themed dining, character encounters, dance parties, and a theatrical musical experience await families on this fun-filled day at sea that culminates with a deck party of incredible proportions.

A Pixar film festival, exclusive merchandise, and photo opportunities will also be available as part of the new celebration.

Character Encounters

From morning until night, guests will dance, play and interact with their favorite Pixar pals, including Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Bo Peep from “Toy Story”; Mike, Sulley and Boo from “Monsters, Inc.”; Joy and Sadness from “Inside Out”; Dug and Russell from “Up”; and everyone’s favorite supers – Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl and Frozone from “The Incredibles.”

Immersive Entertainment

A new nighttime spectacular will call upon Disney Cruise Line guests to help the Incredibles save the day.
A first-of-its-kind theatrical experience will bring to life the beloved story of Miguel and his family from “Coco” through live music and puppetry.
Families will be able to join their favorite characters from the beloved Pixar films for a dance party bash.

Dining Filled with Character

A new, interactive character dining experience hosted by Sheriff Woody, Jesse and Bullseye will kick-start the day with sing-a-longs, cowboy serenades and all the country breakfast fixins.
Families will enjoy a Pixar-themed dinner with dishes inspired by the Pixar Animation Studios’ California locale.
Guests will immerse themselves in undersea magic while dining in Animator’s Palate with visits from some of their favorite “Finding Nemo” friends, including interactive conversations with Crush.

Pixar Day at Sea will be included on nine select Disney Fantasy cruises from January through March 2023. Departing from Port Canaveral, Florida, the Disney Fantasy will sail to several guest-favorite destinations in the eastern and western Caribbean. Eastern Caribbean itineraries feature stops in ports such as Tortola, St. Thomas, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, while western Caribbean sailings visit Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman; and Falmouth, Jamaica. Every cruise includes a visit to Disney’s private island oasis, Castaway Cay.
