Raglan Road Hosts International Irish Coffee Day

Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant at Disney Springs will be celebrating International Irish Coffee Day all-day Wednesday, January 25th, with a special offer.

Raglan Road Director of Operations Sean Griffin invites guests to raise a glass to the national holiday wake-up call. “Today’s rain is tomorrow’s whiskey!” he says, “And guests will find the pub’s whiskey coffees well worth celebrating.”

That’s right…guests can enjoy the pub’s traditional Irish Coffee: “You buy the coffee, the whiskey is on us!”

At Raglan Road, the Irish coffee specialty menu rocks right along with the pub’s live Irish music and dance – three coffee-based cocktails are served daily.

The Lost Irish coffee is the pub’s new traditional Irish coffee recipe mixing Lost Irish whiskey, house-made Demerara sugar syrup, coffee, and cream.

The Iced Irish, Bailey’s Salted Caramel with iced coffee, Paddy’s Irish Whiskey, and butterscotch schnapps topped with whipped cream.

The Irish Espresso Martini, Slane Irish Whiskey, Miami club coffee liqueur, Guinness simple syrup, and fresh espresso.

Griffin says Irish coffee is a staple in Ireland. “And there are no rules. It’s a perfect after-dinner beverage, a nightcap, or an afternoon treat,” he says. “That means you can join us any time of day to celebrate National Irish Coffee Day!”

If you aren’t familiar with Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant at Disney Springs…let me fill you in!!!

Raglan Road is owned and operated by Irish partners John Cooke and Paul Nolan, whose Great Irish Pubs Florida, Inc., previously created Nine Fine Irishmen at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Raglan Road features traditional Irish dishes and new creations with a Celtic twist. The restaurant’s warm interior of aged walnut and mahogany woods from old Irish bars and churches was built in Ireland and shipped to Orlando. 10th Annual Great Irish Hooley Music Fest

Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant will host the 10^th annual Great Irish Hooley boutique music festival Labor Day weekend, September 2 through September 5.

The Great Irish Hooley is one of my FAVORITE events at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant because it is filled with amazing Irish bands performing traditional Irish tunes, Celt grass, folk, and blues.

This mix of music will have you dancing between bites!

This year’s Great Irish Hooley features a first-rate lineup of luminaries from the traditional Irish music world, including:

Téada – This leading Irish traditional band will headline the Hooley lineup. Dubbed “invigorating” by the Washington Post, the band just released their sixth album. Don’t miss them!
One for the Foxes – An exciting new transatlantic trio merging backgrounds in Irish and American folk music for an eclectic vibe.
Celtic Croí (Heart) – Talented trio from Dublin, Belfast, and Glasgow pump up the Hooley volume.
Gobhán – Dynamic duo from County Down, Ireland, playing guitar, fiddle, and vocals.

When you hear the word “Hooley,” you know to expect a good time!

It’s a Gaelic term for a lively party with music, entertainment, and fun for everyone in the family.

When the spirit moves you, be ready to kick up your Hooley heels -the talented Raglan Road Irish Dancers will lead guests through a lively Ceili. The Ceili step dances, dating back to the Celts and Druids who inhabited Ireland in the 1500s, are usually the main event of local celebrations in Irish and Celtic communities.

It all begins Friday afternoon, Sept. 2, and continues through late-night Monday, Labor Day. Celtic face painting is complimentary, and the pub will feature new whiskeys and a special Hooley brew, the De Fesht, that brings an Oktoberfest-like spirit to the late-summer festivities.

The best part is that there’s no cover charge to join the Raglan Road fun featuring top Irish bands with high-voltage entertainment!!!

World Whiskey Day at Raglan Road Pub

Disclosure: I was invited by Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant to check out their World Whiskey Day offerings, but all opinions are my own. I have spent many an evening enjoying the food and dancing with my family on my own dime. It is my family’s favorite Disney Springs spot, and it should be yours, too!!!

Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant is known for their celebrations that are the perfect mix of delicious dishes, delightful libations, and world-class entertainment…but their new World Whiskey Day offerings, available through May 15th, are some of my favorites.

Since it’s whiskey we’re here for…let’s start with a Rosemary Maple Whiskey Sour!

Dickel 12 Tennessee Whiskey, crushed rosemary, dark maple syrup, egg white, and lemon sour

This was a great way to start the evening, because it was really refreshing with a pour that was strong enough to do the job without drowning out the layers of flavor.

But the star of the show is their four whiskey flight of small-batch, premium, limited release whiskeys for $25 (normally $45).

The Raglan Road World Whisk(e)y Day flight takes you around the world to celebrate the unique flavors of whiskey…and this is one flight you are sure to enjoy!

Irish: Powers. Johns Lane Release – 12 yr.

An abundance of earthy aromas like leather and tobacco, with layers of charred wood, dark chocolate, and treacle toffee. Taste of spice up front followed by vanilla, honey and dried apricot

Japanese: Mars Shinshu, Iwai Tradition

A blended whisky of single malts, grains, and blended whiskies. The whisky is then aged in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, and ex-wine casks, creating a perfect harmony of flavors. Iwai Tradition is a special tribute to Iwai and Japanese Whisky

American: Whistle Pig – 10 year Rye

This 10-year-old, 100-proof rye whiskey is robust and distinctive in character. The nose offers a decadent mix of toffee apples, candied orange, and oak, with stone fruit and subtle spice arriving on the back end. The palate continues the rich, luxurious journey, but finishes drier and spicier than the nose suggests.

Scotch: Laphroaig Select. Single Malt.

This special award-winning Laphroaig is created from carefully selected casks from a final maturation in new, American oak casks. It represents a subtle blending of peat, oak and sweetness.

“It offers the punters a chance to try something they might not have tried before, and also to compare global tastes side by side,” says Raglan Road General Manager Alan Delahunt. “It’s an exceptional whiskey experience.”

Now that we’ve got a good base…let’s take a look at the exceptional food (that I have my fingers crossed will make their way to the Raglan Road menu)!

World Whiskey Day Starters

Let’s start with the Whiskey BBQ glazed chicken lollipops, Roasted Corn & Bacon Crumble with corn puree!

Our second starter was Whiskey glazed pork cheek, smoked potato terrine, apple espuma & pork crackling crumb.

I’ve never had pork cheek before…but I will absolutely order it again when I find it on a menu!!!

World Whiskey Day Mains

Our first entrée dish tasting was the Whiskey cured house-smoked salmon, lemon & herb crushed potatoes, pea texture & horseradish with crispy skin.

The crispy skin and pea texture combination was the perfect way to cut the luscious smoked salmon.

And the smoky and just fabulous Whiskey braised beef cheek, triple cooked duck fat chips, whiskey & vinegar salt, mushroom ketchup & crispy onions was our last entrée bite.

Don’t sleep on mushroom ketchup…I know I won’t!!!

World Whiskey Day Desserts

I’m more of a appetizer girl than a dessert girl…but that all changed with these two new desserts that absolutely NEEEEEEEED to be made a part of the Raglan Road menu!

If you have ever wondered what the perfect apple dessert was…look no further than the apple baked dumplings, whiskey butterscotch Jameson sauce, and milk ice cream!!!

And if you are a chocolate enthusiast, you will dream about the whiskey chocolate caramel brownie, Guinness marshmallow, and graham cracker crunch!

If you like sharing a dessert I would suggest opting for this decadent brownie, but if you are like me desserts aren’t for sharing so stop looking at my apple baked dumplings!!!

If you are heading to Disney Springs, I will ALWAYS suggest visiting Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant…but now I will ESPECIALLY suggest you visit to celebrate World Whiskey Day!!!

Raglan Road Announces Mighty Festival – Unplugged

In 2021, Raglan Road Irish Pub’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Disney Springs will be a festival like no other with the Mighty Festival-Unplugged.

Think more acoustic than electric. More intimate than boisterous. The same great live entertainment, with all bands imported from Ireland. The same delicious Irish food and drink. It’s the most authentic Irish celebration in America, and it’s putting safety first for guests with a reservation-only event.

“Everyone can enjoy the usual lively happenings and practiced hospitality, which includes gift competitions and loads of giveaways,” says pub co-owner John Cooke. “And it remains the best Irish hospitality experience in America.”

On St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, Raglan Road will open at 10 a.m. with a $10 cover charge for guests. Reservations are strongly recommended due to limited space.

Guests can book a two-hour slot to join the Raglan Road Irish Pub festivities at Disney Springs, with numbers strictly managed to guarantee social distancing is respected. This year, gathering around bars or stages will not be permitted.

The pub requests that guests respect their two-hour booking to ensure that as many of Raglan Road’s loyal fans have the chance to enjoy America’s finest St. Patrick’s festival.

Raglan Road guests can sip from a huge range of Irish whiskeys, local craft beers and hand-crafted cocktails while choosing from the chef’s selection of authentic Irish dishes, including fresh-caught fish with chips. Those authentic fish & chips also are available to go at the adjacent Cooke’s of Dublin counter.

The Mighty Festival – Unplugged! entertainment lineup will begin with the Raglan Road Irish Dancers, plucked from the casts and stages of the world’s greatest Irish dance shows. This troupe of extraordinary dancers will perform throughout the festival.

Entertainment on the main stage will include:

11 a.m.-1 p.m.— The Byrne Brothers – This exceptionally talented traditional Irish music family from Donegal plays to their audience with vibrant charm. They are Luca (button accordion); Finn (banjo, mandolin and whistle); Dempsey (whistle and bodhran); and father, Tommy (guitar, Uilleann pipes, fiddle, whistles, bagpipes and bodhran). Their show combines exciting traditional Irish tunes with modern dance beats.
From 1:30 p.m.– Slygo – A talented, energetic trio, Slygo combine their youth and heritage to perform a vibrant, uplifting mix of trad and contemporary Irish tunes and songs. Signatures of this talented group are their lively arrangements of renowned songs.
From 5 p.m.-Close– Men of Aran – These two legends of the traditional Irish music world, Colin Farrell and David Curley, have toured, performed and recorded with numerous trad Irish music luminaries. They are gifted entertainers and masters of their craft.

On the Patio Stage, guests can enjoy:

From 12:30 p.m. – Aaron O’Sullivan — A singer-songwriter/guitarist from County Cork, O’Sullivan entertains with a mixture of traditional Irish ballads and modern Irish songs.
6:30 p.m.-Close –Slygo

At the pub’s Shop for Ireland boutique, guests will find an array of Irish gifts including Celtic jewelry, apparel, hats, home goods, and toys.

You can’t celebrate what’s to come without looking back at how it all started!

The dining, shopping, and entertainment district Disney Springs was still called Downtown Disney in 2005 when the authentic Irish pub, owned and operated by Irish partners John Cooke and Paul Nolan, opened its doors offering a lively mix of authentic Irish entertainment, contemporary Irish cuisine, and a warm interior of aged walnut and mahogany woods from old Irish bars and churches was built in Ireland and shipped to Orlando.

Now situated at The Landing at Disney Springs and having garnered multiple dining and entertainment awards through the years, Raglan Road features daily choreographed Irish stage shows by talented bands and an award-winning step-dance troupe. A dining destination for travelers and locals, Raglan Road last month earned Orlando magazine’s 2020 Reader’s Choice first-place Dining Award for Best Live Music Entertainment. The pub’s popular annual Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival and its Labor Day weekend boutique Irish music festival, the Great Irish Hooley, have welcomed many thousands of festival-goers each year.

Initially featuring lunch, dinner, and late-night pub grub, Raglan Road in 2013 introduced its Rollicking Raglan Brunch on Sundays, eventually expanding to Saturdays, as well. The popular weekend brunch last month also earned an Orlando magazine Reader’s Choice 2^nd place Dining Award for Best Brunch.

A Traveler’s Choice award winner for consecutive years, Raglan Road in 2020 also earned the exclusive honor of placing in the top 10 percent of restaurants worldwide thanks to travelers’ reviews and ratings.

In addition to the pub’s modern Irish cuisine, the menu features a wide selection of craft beers and ales, hand-crafted cocktails, Irish coffee drinks, plus wine and bubbly, too. The Raglan Road children’s menu offers options for every young palate.

Raglan Road closed in mid-March due to pandemic-related restaurant shutdowns and reopened in June after incorporating a long list of safety measures throughout the restaurant. Guests can book socially-distanced tables for dinner and for the Rollicking Raglan Weekend Brunch. Drop-in guests may find distanced seating at one of the pub’s bars, in one of three dining rooms, or on the patio, but reservations are highly recommended.

Currently, Raglan Road also features live entertainment nightly including a suite of shows featuring Irish bands and dancers. Guests also can enjoy shows beginning at noon during the weekend Rollicking Raglan Brunch. Dinner is served from 4-11 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday Brunch is served from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

The pub’s Shop for Ireland boutique is open daily and packed with everything from cookbooks and kitchen wares to a wide selection of apparel, jewelry, flat caps, ball caps, and foodstuffs. Cooke’s of Dublin, the Irish quick-service restaurant adjacent to the pub, offers traditional favorites like Dublin-style fish & chips, burgers, and savory pies to carry out, eat in or devour at an outside table from noon to 10 p.m.

Get out your finest green outfit and head to Disney Springs for the return of the Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant!

Celebrate five days of fun, March 13-17, with non-stop Irish-infused entertainment from morning until night, a mighty selection of beers and cocktails and of course, the most authentic Irish food.

My favorite part of the Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival is the fantastic line-up of live entertainment hand-picked straight from Ireland.

Here’s a look at this year’s line-up:

Strings & Things will bring their contemporary Irish Trad/Folk/Roots crossover talent from Tipperary and Galway to the festival stage. Their unique sound and powerful stage energy promise a raucous evening of music and song.
TradGad features three talented musicians from Kerry, Dublin and Galway charming guests with their vibrant performances on guitar, fiddle, mandolin, uilleann pipes, tin whistle, banjo and bouzouki.
Maca an Irish sister duo dubbed “Ireland’s next big thing” will rock the Raglan Road Pub stages with their extraordinary talent.
Fia Rua featuring band members from Ireland and Scotland, will blend their musical backgrounds to perform and wow guests with a unique Celtic sound.
Mike Waters, from the southeast of Ireland, will perform Irish songs and ballads from traditional to contemporary with a good measure of chat and humor.
Emily Furlong an extraordinary singer and entertainer from Wexford, Ireland will captivate guests with her stunning voice.
No Half Measures an exciting, fresh and vibrant four-piece band from Scotland, Cork and Kilkenny will spin their youthful, contemporary sound for the Mighty Festival audience.

And you can’t talk about Raglan Road without talking about their fantastic food!!!!

While the entire menu will be available, guests dining on Monday, March 16 can enjoy a new whiskey pairing dinner from 3-11 p.m. featuring a special prix fixe menu with locally sourced dishes like Whiskey Cured House Smoked Salmon and Apple Baked Dumplings paired with the finest Irish whiskey cocktails.
