Follow us for more updates:The annual Holidays in Space Celebration at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex has two new out-of-this-world additions that are stunning!
Guests at Holidays in Space now have the opportunity to see a 3D projection mapping presentation and a Holiday Laser Light Spectacular that may be visible to the crew aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
The 3D projection mapping presentation is being shown on the side of a 223-foot-long Saturn 1B rocket. Also called spatial augmented reality, this technology is used to project images onto irregularly shaped objects, such as bridges, buildings, and now, a rocket.
In this remarkable presentation – a first at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex – iconic NASA images, historic video footage, and custom animation bend around the contours and span every inch of one of America’s most powerful rockets, bringing to life the past, present and future of NASA’s space program like never before.
During the presentation that is shown every 15 minutes you can bounce along the lunar surface in a moon buggy then float along weightlessly with an astronaut on a spacewalk, see Shuttles burst from their launch pads, and watch as the modules of the International Space Station (ISS) seem to click together effortlessly before the focus shifts to the Red Planet and our future among the majesty of the stars. The 3D projection mapping presentation is part of Holidays in Space through Dec. 30.
The new Holiday Laser Light Spectacular features an incredible music and laser light show that is visible in Orlando and throughout Central Florida. The green rays from the laser show may even be bright enough for crew aboard the ISS to see. The Holiday Laser Light Spectacular continues until Dec. 31.
The Visitor Complex previously unveiled an all-new Holiday Rocket Garden Light Show, which takes place daily through Jan. 4 in the ever-popular Rocket Garden, a Visitor Complex hallmark. The outdoor garden features a majestic collection of real and replica capsules and rockets, soaring 80, 90, and 100 feet into the sky, demonstrating how manned space flight progressed through the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo eras.
The Visitor Complex is adorned for the holiday season with a stunning array of decorations including a 41-foot Christmas tree, a giant NASA ornament, garlands, lights, ribbons, bows and more.
“Many astronauts have told us that they have felt no greater sense of peace and hope for humankind than when looking down on the blue marble of Earth from space,” said Therrin Protze, chief operating officer of the Visitor Complex. “Through these truly unique celebrations, we hope to share that incredible feeling with all our guests this holiday season.”
All holiday activities are included with Visitor Complex admission; no advance reservations are required. Light shows begin at dusk each day.
A trip to Holidays in Space at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is a great trip for families during Holiday Break from school, because you can spend the day taking in the wonderful Atlantis Exhibit and the nighttime spectaculars and still get home in time for a regular bedtime.
Don’t wait another day to “unwrap” this one-of-a-kind holiday celebration! As you’ll soon see, the vastness of our universe lies in the palm of your hand when you visit Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex’s Holidays in Space. Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex’s holiday hours of operation are: December 27-January 4 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Home games include the return to Amway Center on March 29 and a match-up against former owner Brett Bouchy’s LA KISS
The Orlando Predators today announced its schedule for the 2015 Arena Football League season.
The 18-game schedule features nine home games with eight Saturday evening games and one Sunday afternoon game.
The team kicks off its 24th season with its return to the Amway Center on Sunday, March 29, against the Philadelphia Soul. It is the team’s first game back at the Amway Center after playing last season in the CFE Arena at the University of Central Florida.
This season also marks the first full season under new owner, Westgate Resorts CEO David Siegel, who acquired the team in July.
“The Orlando Predators will finally be back home in Downtown Orlando at the Amway Center,” said Siegel. “This season, we’re going to deliver a product the Orlando community will be excited to support and will proudly represent our city and fans.”
“We’re excited to announce the dates for our first season under our new ownership,” said Orlando Predators President Jared Saft. “We can’t wait to welcome all of our new and returning fans back to start a new chapter in this franchise’s storied history.”
This season’s home games feature a rematch of last year’s American Conference Championship against the Cleveland Gladiators on May 2 and a visit from in-state rival Jacksonville Sharks on August 1. The “War on I-4” returns when the Predators host the Tampa Bay Storm on May 16 and for the regular season finale, August 8.
In Week 4, the Predators will host a match-up against the LA KISS, the expansion team launched last season by KISS band members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley and former Predators owner Brett Bouchy. Bouchy was an owner of the Predators for 15 years before leaving in 2013 to launch the LA KISS. The LA KISS was the subject of the AMC reality TV series 4th and Loud.
Tough road match-ups include a visit to division opponent New Orleans VooDoo in Week 3 and a trip to face the three-time defending champion Arizona Rattlers in Week 13.
Season ticket packages start at $99 and are available at www.orlandopredators.com/season-tickets. Packages up to $2,400 offer exclusive benefits such as a vacation at Westgate Las Vegas or Westgate River Ranch, invitations to player meet-and-greet-events at Westgate Resorts properties, access to team practices, complimentary drinks in the Fields Ultimate Lounge and complimentary parking in the GEICO Garage.

Follow us for more updates:Based on the Stephen Sondheim play of the same name, Into the Woods is Disney’s big holiday movie for 2014. The play itself is a tale about morality, vice, desire, and virtue. Based on the concept that each fairy tale is supposed to teach us or our children a lesson to help them in life. However the twist here is that several fairy tales collide to create the pillars of a whole new story where the object lesson is centered around the old saying, “Be careful what you wish for.”
I have to be perfectly honest here, before seeing this movie I knew very little to nothing about it. Having never seen the play before or read much about it, never having heard the songs, I was going in blind. There had been some brief discussion with my Disney Film Project Podcast co-hosts which contained a great deal of excitement from our own Rachel Kolb, who happens to be a huge fan of the play and knows a great deal about it. When I’m in this situation I try not to come in with too many preconceptions.
The core story is about a Baker (James Corden) and his Wife (Emily Blunt) and their desire to start a family. However they quickly learn that they have been cursed by their next door neighbor who happens to be a Witch played by Meryl Streep who really steals every scene she’s in. Wanting to break the curse, and be able to have a child, the Witch assigns them to retrieve 4 seemingly normal items and bring them to her in 3 days time. The trick however is that this sends them on a collision course with the fairy tales Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel. 4 items. 4 stories.
The problem however is that the wishes of each of the major characters – the Baker, his Wife, the Witch, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack, and Rapunzel – have consequences. Each of their stories plays out somewhat as you know them, but it’s what happens after this that matters. But the wishes themselves are just allegorical wrappings for the choices the characters continue to make throughout the story. And how they have to learn to take responsibility for those choices.
There is a lot of commentary that discusses the difference between the musical and the movie, from the removal of songs, to the changes of plot elements. While not having seen the play, I’m guessing this serves 2 purposes; the shorter time a movie has to tell a story, and that some things that work on stage do not work as well on film. While this is a somewhat dark story that has some moments that you may need to either explain or gloss over to your children, this is still a family film. I might consider the age and maturity of any pre-teen children before seeing this film with them. This is a very solid movie, based on a well constructed story, that I greatly enjoyed watching.
In addition to doing the web design and programming for the On the Go in MCO website, Todd Perlmutter is a host for the Disney Film Project Podcast.

It’s Christmas time again!! SeaWorld has brought back their Christmas Celebration and it bigger and better than ever! New Shows, decorations, and Atmosphere Entertainment have been added to this year’s festivities! As always, these events are included in your regular park admission!
Our first stop was Elmo’s Christmas Wish – Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover, Zoe, Rosita all make their Christmas wishes! There is tons of singing and dancing as the friends all make their wishes for Christmas and help Elmo make his wish. This is a must do for the little ones! Little Man was very excited to see his favorites on stage! He also loved the bubbles and “snow” coming down from the ceiling!
After we left the show, we headed to the waterfront to see the Sea of Trees. Crazy!! SO MANY TREES, over 100 of them! They were everywhere; and the colors and music were so festive. I absolutely loved seeing all the dancing images on the trees: candy canes, Frosty the Snowman, gingerbread men and more. It was 10 minutes of magic!
After the Sea of Trees we headed over to O Wondrous Night, the Greatest Story Never Told. We were greeted to a friendly guitar playing singing Christmas songs! What an amazing show! It’s the Christmas Story in a way you’ve never heard before- through the eyes of the animals! The show is filled with wonderful performers, singing traditional Christmas songs, fun puppetry and an actual living nativity! We loved the performance (little man did get kind of antsy, it’s a 30 min show)! Little man’s favorite part was when all the live animals started coming out!
We wen to see Shamu’s Christmas Miracles next. They had a saxophone player for a preshow. I always love the night time Shamu shows! This one was no exception! They whales performed between videos of people telling about their miracles. They had a heart touching video of the first Baby Shamu! We had a few moments where the whales didn’t want to perform, but that happens. We definitely want to come back and see it again!
We ended the night with Winter Wonderland on Ice. We found out earlier in the day that they are skating on real ice, not a synthetic surface. Such a festive ice skating show! Fantastic skaters and some of my favorite Christmas songs, and a new fun one for us “Hot, Hot, Hot Chocolate!” My favorite part was when Pete and Penny Penguin came out to ice skate!! We loved how the fountains and the trees danced to the music too, it was very immersive.
Immediately after the show is Holiday Reflections: Fireworks & Fountain Finale. If you are already there for Winter Wonderland on Ice you don’t need to move, you have a great spot for this finale!
The only things we missed out on during our visit to SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration was the Polar Express, the snow flurries on the waterfront, and meeting Santa Shamu! We will definitely be back to see them!

A new trailer from Inside Out, the major emotion picture from Disney-Pixar, coming out June 19, 2015 is here and it is amazing!
httpv://youtu.be/yRUAzGQ3nSY
Make sure that you stay until the end of the trailer to say hi to a few characters!
From an adventurous balloon ride above the clouds to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Up”) has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In Disney•Pixar’s original movie “ Inside Out,” he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all—inside the mind.
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
We will continue to bring you information about Disney-Pixar’s Inside Out, but you can also keep up with the latest information on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
