Hi Eugene! Theatre Productions Presents

Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers’

Matt & Ben

Hi Eugene Portion of Proceeds to be Donated to The American Heart Association
of Greater Orlando in Honor of Recently Passed Orlando Actor Carl Krickmire

After the wild success of its inaugural production, Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, Hi Eugene! Theatre Productions is proud to present Mindy Kaling &Brenda Wither’s Matt & Ben.  The show will run at Bay Street Theatre in Eustis, Fla., Aug. 22 to 24, 2014, and at The Venue in Orlando, Fla., Nov. 8 to 9, 2014.

Hi Eugene

Written by actress and producer Mindy Kaling – best known for her roles on NBC’s The Office and The Mindy Project – Matt & Bendepicts its Hollywood golden boys – before J-Lo, before Gwyneth, before Project Greenlight, before Oscar and before anyone actually gave a damn. When the screenplay for Good Will Hunting drops mysteriously from the heavens, the boys realize they’re being tested by a higher power.

“This show is really a story of true, ever-lasting friendship,” director Devon Lucia said. “Friends are the family you choose to surround yourself with.  Since moving to Florida, my friends have really been my backbone through some tough times and now I’m pursuing my dream of directing.  I couldn’t do it without them.”

Hi Eugene

A portion of proceeds from the Orlando run will go to The American Heart Association of Greater Orlando in honor of recently passed Orlando actor Carl Krickmire.  Krickmire’s most recent performance was in SAK Comedy Lab’s Jekyll n’ Hyde at the Orlando Fringe Festival.  The show was written and directed by Lindsay Taylor, who will play “Matt” in Matt & Ben.

“Carl’s death strongly affected the Central Florida theater community, really bringing people together,” Taylor said. “I’ve put my entire heart into this show for one person.  This is for Carl.”
