Zombie Boardwalk This Halloween At Boardwalk Bowl

Boardwalk Bowl Entertainment Center unleashes Zombie Boardwalk attraction
Guests can try it free on Halloween
You’ve read about them in books, and you’ve seen them on TV and in movies. Now, zombies have risen at the Zombie Boardwalk, and they’ve hit Boardwalk Bowl Entertainment Center in Orlando.

Zombie Boardwalk This Halloween At Boardwalk Bowl

With a swarm of the undead ambling around, Boardwalk Bowl is calling all would-be zombie hunters to help defeat the zombies with a new, one-of-a-kind attraction.
The shooting-gallery style attraction fills 4,000-square-feet of Boardwalk Bowl, and it incorporates lifelike animated zombies that make perfect target practice.

Zombie Boardwalk players take aim at the targets in a rapid-fire game to see if they have what it takes to survive. There are two teams, and up to 10 players can play at once. The game is recommended for those 16 and older.
“This attraction is truly the first of its kind, and it offers players an experience they can’t get anywhere else in Orlando,” said Keith Baldwin, the regional general manager of Aloma Bowling Centers. “Zombies are popular right now, and we’re excited to offer people the chance to see if they could survive like in their favorite TV show or movie.”
Guests will have the chance to try it for free, too. For one day only, on Halloween, Boardwalk Bowl is offering guests who like their Facebook page a free pass to the attraction.
Zombie Boardwalk was designed and installed by Fear Fest, Ken Spriggs and Tyler Norman. It is the latest in a long line of entertainment offered by Boardwalk Bowl. The venue also offers bowling, an arcade, a comedy club, billiards and a full service restaurant and bar, Brooklyn South.
Boardwalk Bowl Entertainment Center features 80 lanes and is one of the largest bowling centers in the Southeast. For more information, visit www.alomabowlingcenters.com/boardwalk/ .

Aloma Bowling Centers to participate in Christmas in July event for Toys for Tots

Though the summer heat is setting in across Central Florida, those at Aloma Bowling Centers are already thinking about candy canes, gingerbread, trees and Santa Claus.
That’s because along with bowling centers around Orlando, Aloma Bowling Centers will take part in a Christmas in July event to make a difference for families during the holidays.
From July 1 to August 1, Aloma Bowl, Boardwalk Bowl and Airport Lanes will all have festively wrapped boxes on display for guests to donate new, unwrapped toys and unused gift cards. The donations will then be added to other contributions for the Orlando Regional United States Bowling Congress’ annual Toys for Tots drive in December.
“At Aloma Bowling Centers, we’re always looking for ways to give back to our local community,” said Keith Baldwin, the regional general manager of the venues. “This is a creative way to fill a big need around the holidays, and we hope people will bring something to donate when they come out to enjoy our centers.”
The Christmas in July event was organized because the number of families in need has increased each year, while the number of donations has decreased. The event aims to help fill that gap in the summer months, when people might have a little more to give.

ME Dance Co. Announces Name Change

ME DANCE CO. ANNOUNCES NAME CHANGE TO ‘DANCE THEATRE OF ORLANDO’ AND TEASES 2016 PRODUCTIONS

The name transition is designed to reflect the growth and evolution of the company for 2016 and beyond

The Orlando-based ME Dance Company announced it is officially changing its name to Dance Theatre of Orlando. The beloved dance troupe, founded in 2011, is expanding through the new year and the name change is a reflection of that growth. The company’s original, full-length dance productions will also transform into more robust, fleshed-out stories designed to captivate and intrigue audiences of all ages.

“The new name for ME Dance will bring forth a new era for the dance company,” says Marshall Ellis, founder and artistic director of ME Dance, Inc. and Dance Theatre of Orlando. “With a new name, expect a whole new set of artistic works and expression. The dance company will continue to present its usual full-length productions for each season, but these productions will be edgier – they will incorporate new elements of dance, new innovative technology and, above all, they will focus on engaging stories.”

2016 Productions Preview

This year, there will be a strong focus on developing the dancers into strong storytellers for each performance. Their classic technique will blend with dynamic narratives to provide more than just a showcase of technical feats, but also a unique and fully immersive entertainment offering that will enchant audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

For 2016, the Dance Theatre of Orlando will present the following original productions:

    • TOUCH – The Human Experience; Music by Bruce Springsteen; March 4-6, 11 and 13, 2016
    • K.E.Y.S.; A collection of dances directed by various choreographers; July 15-17, 2016
    • The Nuthouse: A New Holiday Tradition; Music by Tchaikovsky; December 2-4, 9-11, 2016

“Although the ME Theatre will continue to be the principal home of Dance Theatre of Orlando, expect some traveling performances in the near future,” hints Marshall Ellis.

The Dance Theatre of Orlando is funded through ME Dance, Inc., a charity that serves as a beacon of light in the Central Florida arts community. ME Dance, Inc. is a not-for-profit arts organization founded by Marshall Ellis. The mission of ME Dance, Inc. is to introduce innovative ideas through dance to create growth in the arts community and to enrich the arts community by providing an outlet to feature talent in art through entertainment.
