SeaWorld Orlando will amplify thrills with this multi-launch, family friendly coaster – Ice Breaker
Coaster fans get ready because SeaWorld Orlando has revealed details regarding their new roller coaster coming to the park in 2020!
Making its debut in Spring 2020, riders will shiver through family-friendly adventures on SeaWorld Orlando’s first launch coaster: Ice Breaker.
Named after the icy Arctic summits, Ice Breaker will feature four launches, both backwards and forwards, culminating in a reverse launch into the steepest beyond vertical drop in Florida — a 93-foot tall spike with 100-degree angle.
What’s even better is that the thrill is family-friendly with a rider height requirement of only 48 inches.
Located near the Wild Arctic Attraction, the ride’s theme is reflective of this area with a nod to Ice Breaker’s conservation partner, Alaska SeaLife Center. Primarily dedicated to marine research, education and wildlife response, the Alaska SeaLife Center mission matches closely to SeaWorld Orlando’s, making them a perfect partner to help educate riders about the Artic and its inhabitants.
“The Alaska SeaLife Center is excited to grow our partnership with SeaWorld. For many years, SeaWorld has been a stalwart supporter of the Center, and particularly our Wildlife Response program,” said Tara L. Riemer, President and CEO of Alaska SeaLife Center. “We are grateful for SeaWorld’s contributions of funding and staff over the years to further our mission. This new collaboration will continue efforts to highlight Arctic rescue and conservation stories.”
The opening of Ice Breaker is the perfect addition to SeaWorld’s ever-growing ride portfolio. From the roller coaster thrills of Mako, Manta and Kraken, to the water rapids of Infinity Falls and the flume fun of Journey to Atlantis, Ice Breaker joins the park’s famed attractions as a must-do experience in Orlando.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is always a blast, but to make sure we have a great time there are things that I make sure that I pack in my bag to have during the party.
1. Necessities
I always have what I call a ‘Bag of Necessity’ with me in the parks, but for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party I will sometimes travel light and just carry medicine, a nail file, lip balm, and gum.
If you want to see what is usually in my crazy, Mary Poppins ‘Bag of Necessity’ here you go…
2. Charger & Cord
I always have a portable charger and cord with me in my bag, and I love having a Fuel Rod because you can exchange it in the park without having to worry about charging it at home before you go. It was the best $30 investment!!!
I like to keep the charger and cord in a zip-top bag, because it makes it easier to find and keeps it dry should it start to rain.
3. Extra Zip-Top Bag For My Phone
So while my iPhone is water resistant, I always like to be SUPER safe so I carry an extra zip-top bag with me for my phone.
4. Hand Sanitizer
Sometimes you need to eat candy, and you need to eat it now…so hand sanitizer!
5. MagicBand and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Ticket
While you can link yourMickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party ticket to you MagicBand, I always like to carry mine with me just in case!
5. Gallon Size Zip-Top Bags
What aren’t gallon size zip-top bags good for at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party?
I like to use them to put candy in (those handles get stretchy as the night goes on), keep my maps together, and even to share with others who may need them!
6. Raincoat In Zip-Top Bag
I always like to carry my raincoat with me to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, because I can use it when it rains, if I get cold, or if someone in a stroller needs a cover for sleep.
I also always keep it in a zip-top bag so if it does rain for a little bit, I can always take it off and put it back in my bag without getting everything else in the bag wet.
7. Wipes
If you are stuck on a curb waiting for Mickey’s Boo To You Parade with sticky hands, these wipes come in handy!
They’re also great for stains, taking off face paint, and almost anything else. Plus how adorable is this Mickey pattern????
8. Extra Camera Batteries In A Zip-Top Bag
Extra camera batteries are good to have, because you never know how snap-happy you will get at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!
Again, I carry them in a zip-top bag to keep them organized and dry.
9. Savory Snacks
Man cannot survive on candy alone…no matter how many times you tell yourself that! So to avoid the crazy food lines during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, I like to carry savory snacks.
We will be bringing you more coverage of this year’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, so make sure you follow our adventures on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook!

Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular
The new Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular lights the night sky during the witching season in a spellbinding display playing across the heavens.
As host of the spectacle, Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” spins a not-so-scary tale about how anything can happen on Halloween night.
Jack’s ghost dog, Zero, brings everyone along on a trick-or-treating adventure where four friends – Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck – find themselves drawn into a haunted house. Encounters with dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts and wickedly troublemaking Disney villains make for a hair-raising adventure. It all comes to life with state-of-the-art projection effects, lasers, lighting and dazzling fireworks.
Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade
The galloping Headless Horseman fronts Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, setting the stage for spooktacular fun throughout Magic Kingdom.
The parade opens with a flurry of beloved Disney friends, including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in new Halloween costumes.
The spectral Bride from The Haunted Mansion appears in the parade this year alongside waltzing spirits and those famous Hitchhiking Ghosts.
Pixar pals join the fun, too, including The Incredibles and designer extraordinaire Edna Mode, as well as Buzz Lightyear and alien explorers on a planetary playset float inspired by Pixar’s Toy Story films.
Wreck-It-Ralph, Vanellope von Schweetz and the girls from Sugar Rush make sure there’s plenty of candy to go around during the parade.
In addition, pirates sail in from Adventureland, Clarabelle Cow hosts a square dance during a Frontierland hoedown and a wicked assortment of Disney villains reigns over a Fantasyland-inspired grand finale.
Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant
As only she can, host Cruella de Vil invites guests to mix and mingle with her impossibly hip circle of friends during Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant.
This new reservations-only social promises a fun, festive atmosphere with themed music and décor matched with divine hors d’oeuvres, sweets and drinks (including beer and wine).
Guests can come and go as they please throughout the night and enjoy prime parade-viewing spot reserved just for them. The party keeps rollin’ until 12:30 a.m.
Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way ($99 per person, plus tax) is available only during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
Reservations are required and can be made at Disneyworld.com or by calling Disney Dining at (407) 939-3463.
New Candy Spot

Special Attraction Overlays
Among many popular park attractions available to roaming ghosts and goblins, Space Mountain turns out the lights, going completely dark and hurtling guests through the blackness of deep space to the sounds of a new hard-rockin’ soundtrack.
Then guests embarking on Pirates of the Caribbean will encounter a crew of live pirates engaged in a whole new swashbuckling quest for treasure.
And finally at the Mad Tea Party, special lighting and music enhance the nighttime experience to bring out the maddest hatter in everyone.
New Dance Parties
The new DescenDANCE Party takes the stage at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café in Tomorrowland, where guests can groove to a beat inspired by the “Descendants” Disney Channel movies.
For young park goers, the Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam in Fantasyland is the place to party with favorite Disney Junior characters like Doc McStuffins, Timon and Vampirina. New this year, Nancy Clancy from the hit Disney Junior series “Fancy Nancy” joins the fun.

Florida weather can be rather unpredictable and wet, so to help make your rainy day more bearable here are my top theme park tips for a rainy day.
Watch the weather while you are on the go (no pun intended)
Make sure you have a reliable weather app to use while you’re in the parks.
My favorite is the Channel 9 Severe Weather App, because you can sign up for custom alerts in your area, stream live radar, and get an accurate hour-by-hour forecast.
Keep an eye out for temporary closures or delays
Some attractions and transportation options may shut down temporarily during heavy rain, wind, or lightning.
To be safe, check the park’s official app for any notices before you head towards an attraction or ask an attendant about any closures or delays before you hop in line.
Think ahead for meals
On rainy days quick service and full-service dining locations tend to get really crowded and unable to accommodate walk-up seating requests, so it is always best to try to make a reservations in advance.
At Walt Disney World you will want to use the My Disney Experience App and at the Universal Orlando Resort you can use Open Table to make restaurant reservations.
If you are at Walt Disney World in a quick service dining location, consider using the Mobile Ordering option on the My Disney Experience App to cut your wait down!
Park bag hack for rain jackets and umbrellas
When going to the parks with a backpack, keep your rain jacket or umbrella inside of a zip top bag so when you take the jacket out you can put your keys or cell phone inside to keep them dry.
Then when the rain stops, you’ll have a handy place to put your wet jacket.
Choose the right shoes
Choosing the right shoe is super important for surviving a rainy day in the theme park.
Pick a shoe that is comfortable with a non-slip sole and plenty of tread.
You also may want to consider leaving the rain boots at home, because they tend to fill up with water during heavy storms and get quite heavy.
Wear clothes that dry quickly
When it is going to be a wet day in the park choosing to wear lightweight and quick drying clothing will definitely make you more comfortable, and as a bonus when it gets hot again it will wick away the sweat to help keep you cool!
Don’t pass up a good show or movie
When the sun is out you might be quick to pass up a show or movie, but they are the PERFECT activity for a rainy day because they are shown in huge venues making them walk-up friendly.
In keeping safety top of mind, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will be closed beginning September 3 at 3 p.m. and will reopen following the storm when it is safe to do so.
Guests with current and upcoming reservations at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort have been contacted to relocate them to other resorts on property and to help them plan for anticipated weather impacts.

Universal’s Volcano Bay: CLOSED
Official Park Statement:
We continue to closely monitoring the weather. At this time, Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal’s CityWalk will open as scheduled on Tuesday, September 3, however, Universal’s Volcano Bay Water Theme Park will be closed.
We have a comprehensive weather preparedness plan in place for the safety of our ambassadors, guests and animals as we continue to closely monitor the forecast for Hurricane Dorian.
Guests are encouraged to follow our social media channels and to check our website for the latest park updates.
Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted by Hurricane Dorian. The safety of our employees and guests is our number one priority. LEGOLAND Hotel will remain open.
AMC Movie Theatres have once again partnered with Disney’s Dream Big, Princess program this Fall to bring four beloved Disney princess feature films to the big screen for audiences to enjoy.
Some of these haven’t been shown on the big screen in ages, meaning it might be a first-time viewing for young Disney fans.
While we are still months away from Walt Disney Animation whisking audiences back to the mythical land of Arendelle for the further adventures of Anna and Elsa in FROZEN II, this is a great way to get excited for the new film coming to theaters on November 22nd!
The schedule for the 2019 Dream Big, Princess program will be as follows.
Soon to be made into a live-action feature starring Halle Bailey, THE LITTLE MERMAID follows a restless mermaid who dreams of one day living on the surface. To get there, Ariel trades her greatest gift — her beautiful singing voice — for a pair of legs. Come for the music, including brilliant songs like “Under the Sea,” which won a Best Original Song Oscar in 1989.
A tale as old as time … and one that always warrants a big-screen viewing. The 1991 animated version translates the classic romance for a contemporary audience, riding on the coattails of some incredible songs, such as “Be Our Guest” as well as the title track.
Rapunzel may have let down her hair, but TANGLED did not let down animation audiences looking for a new winner from Walt Disney Animation. Mandy Moore plays the fiery Rapunzel, and she is no damsel in distress. But the true star of TANGLED is the animators who turned Rapunzel’s flowing blonde hair into its own character.
Relatively new compared to the other titles on this list, though PRINCESS has built up a steady fan base over the years, and we expect them to turn out to see this one on the big screen once again. FROG has a distinct New Orleans flavor to it, tapping into the music and cuisine of the Bayou. But it also has star power, with Anika Noni Rose, Keith David and Oprah Winfrey all lending their voices.
Each film in the series will get a one-week run in participating theatres.
It’s worth noting that this will be the animated version of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST — the one that was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars— and that warrants a big-screen revisiting every chance we get.
Advance Purchase tickets for the Dream Big, Princess series at AMC Movie Theatre are available now using the links under each movie title (which, BTW, are NOT affiliate links), and if you are looking to visit the AMC at Disney Springs showings are at 2pm and 6pm at the AMC DINE-IN Disney Springs 24.
Halloween fills the theme parks of Central Florida with special events, and to help you choose the right event for your family I’ve put together the Best Halloween Events you can find.

At the D23 Expo held in Anaheim, California, over the weekend Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Bob Chapek led a presentation on the new additions coming to the Disney Parks around the world.
While there were several large announcements, Walt Disney World’s Epcot received the most attention as it continues to undergo the biggest transformation of any Disney park in history including the addition of several new attractions, restaurants, and experiences.
Starting with the news that Epcot will be organized into four neighborhoods that each speak to important aspects of the world and its people: World Showcase, World Celebration, World Nature and World Discovery.
Let’s start our look at the new additions coming to Epcot in World Showcase where new magic will join the celebration of World culture, cuisine, architecture, and traditions.
World Showcase
The United Kingdom pavilion will welcome the first attraction inspired by Mary Poppins. We don’t have an opening date yet, but we do know that it will include a step in time down Cherry Tree Lane past Admiral Boom’s house before entering Number 17, the home of the Banks family, where an adventure will begin.
In 2020, following the limited-time run of the nighttime spectacular “Epcot Forever,” the new “HarmonioUS” will debut as the largest nighttime spectacular ever created for a Disney park.
It will celebrate how the music of Disney inspires people the world over, and it will feature familiar Disney tunes reinterpreted by a diverse group of artists from around the globe as well as massive floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics, lasers, and so much more.
In summer 2020, the France pavilion will be home to the much-anticipated attraction Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure where you’ll shrink to the size of Chef Remy and race through Gusteau’s restaurant on a wild adventure
Also debuting in 2020 is a new restaurant called La Crêperie de Paris featuring a menu from celebrity chef Jérôme Bocuse that can be enjoyed as a table or quick-service dining location.
And the last bit of news in the France pavilion, is that the classic Impressions de France film will be joined by the new “Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along,” debuting in January 2020 that is directed by Don Hahn, producer of both the animated and live-action versions of this tale as old as time.
“Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360” will debut in January 2020 in the Canada pavilion with new scenes and a new story.
In the China pavilion, “Wondrous China” will take guests on a spectacular journey across the country, filmed, and presented in a completely seamless 360-degree digital format.
Over in World Celebration new enhancements and additions will be focused on connecting individuals to the the world around them.
World Celebration
Iconic Spaceship Earth will remain a voyage through time, but soon it will transform to reflect the power of storytelling and its ability to unite the human experience.
The re-imagined attraction will feature new narration, an entirely new musical score, and a magical “story light” that will lead guests on a journey through history focused on the moments and ideas that define “our” story.
At the exit to Spaceship Earth, a new post-show experience will lead guests to discover a breathtaking new view of World Showcase from Dreamers Point.
A new three-level Celebration Pavilion will be home to live events, serve as the center of Epcot’s signature festivals, and will provide a stunning elevated view of the entire park and an ideal spot to witness Epcot’s nighttime spectacular.
Epcot’s entrance plaza will welcome guests with a reimagined fountain, new pathways, and sweeping green spaces that beautify the entryway to the park paying homage to the origins of Epcot.
The natural environments of the World Celebration neighborhood will have global design elements filled with Disney magic and surprises, including a wishing tree in an enchanted forest and a story fountain celebrating the power and music of iconic Disney storytelling.
World Celebration will also feature a new statue celebrating the legacy of the original dreamer, Walt Disney.
The World Nature neighborhood is dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty, awe, and balance of the natural world that will include the existing The Land and The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilions.
World Nature
Journey of Water, inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Moana” will lead guests down a lush exploration trail to meet and play with magical, living water.
The water will have a life of its own – just like Moana’s friend, the ocean – and you’ll learn about the importance of the natural water cycle.
The Land pavilion’s new film, “Awesome Planet,” will debut in January 2020 and will showcase the beauty, diversity, and dynamic story of the planet.
And finally the In World Discovery neighborhood will focus on science, technology, and intergalactic adventures.
World Discovery
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be the first “other-world” showcase pavilion at Epcot.
The adventure starts in the “Galaxarium,” a planetarium-like exhibition that explores the similarities and mysteries of the formation of Earth’s galaxy and Xandar. Guests will learn more about the treasures Xandar has to share – until the moment when the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive, and adventures across the cosmos ensue.
The attraction will also feature a new innovation from Walt Disney Imagineering – a storytelling coaster that rotates 360 degrees to focus your attention on the action, including the first reverse launch on a Disney coaster.
This winter guests with reservations can board a special elevator in the Mission: SPACE pavilion for a journey to a space station high above the ground that offers both a celestial panorama of daytime and nighttime views of Earth as well as an out-of-this-world dining experience at restaurant Space 220.
The PLAY! pavilion, in the former Wonders of Life pavilion, will be a digital metropolis filled with games, activities, and experiences that connect guests and Disney characters – both real and virtual – like never before.
As part of this new pavilion guests will have the chance to help legendary fashion icon Edna Mode on her quest to rid the world of uninspired style or make a splash competing in a water-balloon fight hosted by Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby.
To help guests get ready for all of these new additions, on October 1, 2019, Walt Disney Imagineering presents the Epcot Experience in the Odyssey Events Pavilion will invite guests to discover interactive exhibits that showcase the relentless innovation, energy, and excitement driving the park’s future throughout this unprecedented period of transformation.

DISCLOSURE: I was invited by the Walt Disney Company to attend the 2019 D23 Expo, however all opinions and over-use of exclamation points are 100% my own. Also I purchased the Disney Plus Founders Circle, so I have put my money where my words are.
Disney Plus is making its debut at the 2019 D23 Expo, and the response to the new streaming service has been incredibly positive as excitement builds for its November 12, 2019, launch.
During its first-ever showcase presentation stars, directors, and writers filled the D23 Hall stage as announcements on new series in development were made and key details were revealed.
“With less than three months until launch, Disney+ will soon entertain and inspire audiences of all ages for generations to come, and we’re excited to preview some of the amazing original content being created for the service exclusively from our world-class brands today at the D23 Expo,” said Kevin Mayer, chairman, Direct-to-Consumer & International. “Storytelling is the cornerstone of The Walt Disney Company and we’re thrilled to unveil a new slate of original shows from the Star Wars and Marvel cinematic universes, along with popular television franchises set to return with all-new series streaming only on Disney+.”
With that in mind let’s look at ten of Disney Plus’ slate of originals from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic programs that I can’t wait to watch (in no particular order) with details from the 2019 D23 Presentation!!!!

Noelle
“Noelle” stars Anna Kendrick and Billy Eichner joined Sean Bailey to announce their film will premiere on Disney+ on November 12 before sharing a new trailer. In the upcoming holiday comedy, Kris Kringle’s daughter is full of Christmas spirit and holiday fun, but wishes she could do something “important” like her beloved brother Nick, who will take over from their father this Christmas.
When Nick is about to crumble like a gingerbread cookie from all the pressure, Noelle suggests he take a break and get away…but when he doesn’t return, Noelle must find her brother and bring him back in time to save Christmas.
Untitled Cassian Andor Series
Stars Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk joined Kathleen Kennedy to introduce the audience to the second Lucasfilm live-action series for Disney+, which is now in development.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
Director Kari Skogland introduced Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, the stars of Marvel Studios’ ”The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” which finds Falcon and the Winter Soldier teaming up after “Avengers: Endgame.”

And I mean I can’t not have an honorable mention for just one more…
