Chef Richard Blais Brings Tropical Concept to Orlando

Chef Richard Blais

I was beyond excited when I found out that acclaimed Chef Richard Blais will open his first Orlando restaurant later this year with a new tropical concept at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, located adjacent to Walt Disney World.

“It’s undeniable how talented and invigorating Chef Blais is. We couldn’t be more excited to be working with him for our newest restaurant,” said Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress General Manager Paul Joseph. “This concept is something very near and dear to our hearts and to Blais’s and we can’t wait to be able to unveil it to our guests.”

Blais is widely recognized as the first winner of Bravo’s Top Chef All-Stars and recently announced co-star of the new Gordon Ramsay / FOX cooking competition, Next Level Chef. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and trained at The French Laundry, Daniel, Chez Panisse, and el Bulli.

His new Orlando restaurant will make its home in the former Hemingway’s venue within the resort and offer dinner nightly and brunch on Sundays.

Blais currently owns and operates Trail Blais, a forward-thinking culinary consulting company that has consulted on, designed, and operated popular eateries across the country. He is the James Beard Award-nominated author of Try This at Home: Recipes from My Head to Your Plate, as well as his second cookbook, So Good.

Most recently, he opened Ember & Rye at the newly renovated Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, California, and took on the role of Culinary Director at the newly opened San Diego Symphony performance space, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.

“I love having fun with my concepts and menus and I’m so excited about what we’ve got in store for this restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress,” said Chef Richard Blais. “We’re looking forward to adding a memorable and innovative offering to Orlando’s already incredible food scene.”

The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress will host a hiring event for the new restaurant on Tuesday, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the resort’s Windsong Ballroom. Positions available include management, cooks, bartenders, servers, and greeters.

Journey to Mythica 4D Movie Debuts at LEGOLAND

LEGOLAND Florida Journey to Mythica

Enter an undiscovered world where LEGO creatures come to life with an all-new 4D movie, LEGO MYTHICA – JOURNEY TO MYTHICA, and an augmented reality (AR) experience opening May 27 at LEGOLAND Florida Resort’s Fun Town Theater.

Full of adventures and mysterious creatures all waiting to be discovered, LEGO MYTHICA is an incredible parallel universe to ours. A universe that, unbeknown to us, has been created by the power of kids’ imagination. Whenever a child takes the time and care to build a creature from LEGO bricks, it comes to life for real in MYTHICA. Starting May 27, this new journey comes to the theme park built for kids with two adventurous experiences.

NEW 4D MOVIE! LEGO MYTHICA – JOURNEY TO MYTHICA

LEGO MYTHICA – JOURNEY TO MYTHICA follows Bobs, a courageous little Alicorn on a 4D adventure into MYTHICA. There he will experience enchanted forests, raging seas, hidden caves, fire, and ice. He will have to escape the Chimera, soar with Maximus the Sky Lion and make a splash with Duo the Hydra, all before discovering his true powers.

This all-new 4D movie will be showing daily inside the LEGOLAND Fun Town Theater.

NEW AR EXPERIENCE! LEGO MYTHICA in MINILAND

LEGOLAND Florida Resort invites guests to enjoy the all-new 4D movie and then explore a world of imagination to see LEGO MYTHICA creatures come to life before their eyes. In this AR (Augmented Reality) scavenger hunt in MINILAND, families will work together to find the creatures from the 4D movie and save MYTHICA by inspiring kids to create again. Explore all sections of MINILAND to discover seven hidden LEGOMYTHICA creatures and “capture” them as digital trading cards, revealing their organic forms within the world of MYTHICA. This exclusive AR experience can be accessed by downloading the free LEGOLAND Florida app.

MINILAND will reopen for this limited-time experience over the summer before continuing construction on its previously announced shade structure.

Both awesome experiences are included in the price of admission to LEGOLAND Florida. For more information, visit LEGOLAND.com/Florida.
