Wet ‘n Wild Announces 2015 Waves of Glory Lineup with Two Headlining Acts, Plumb and Tim Timmons.

Enjoy a full day of uplifting and inspiring Christian Music with Live performances during the Battle of the Bands Competition.

Modern Christian Rock artist Plumb and Contemporary Christian artist Tim Timmons will perform live in concert at Wet ‘n Wild Orlando’s Annual Waves of Glory on Saturday, May 2, 2015 in partnership with Z88.3.

This year’s event features eight artists competing during a Battle of the Bands competition followed by a show-stopping performance by Tim Timmons who will perform tracks from his studio album “Cast my Cares.” Closing out the night DOVE nominated artist Plumb who has sold more than 500,000 albums and over two million singles worldwide will perform tracks like “Need You Now” and “Drifting” along with other fan favorites.

“I am so excited to be a part of Waves of Glory, especially as this event is just a few days before my new album “Exhale” releases. This will be a perfect way to kick off the new album. I’m excited to share new music – and sunscreen – with everyone in Orlando,” said Plumb.

During the Waves of Glory’s signature Battle of the Bands competition, emerging artists in Christian rock, worship and rap help celebrate a day of fun, faith and fellowship as part of a high-powered, musical face-off. Musicians will be competing to win two thousand dollars in cash prizes for production and charitable donations as well as the chance to perform this September at Universal Studios’ Rock the Universe, Florida’s largest Christian music festival.

Waves of Glory is free with park admission. The Battle of the Bands competition begins at 11:00AM, with headlining concerts starting at 3:30PM at the Beach Club Stage.

Wet ‘N Wild Looking For Waves of Glory Battle Of The Bands Participants

Wet ‘n Wild Orlando Announces Date for 7th Annual Waves of Glory, and begins the Search for Battle of the Bands Participants.

Today Wet ‘n Wild Orlando announced that the 7th Annual Waves of Glory event will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015. A nationally known Christian artist will be soon be selected to headline the event and announced at a later date.

Meanwhile, Wet ‘n Wild is looking to select the best in regional Christian music talent for the Battle of the Bands portion of the event. Waves of Glory provides a great format for Christian artists to share their musical gifts with the community in a battle-of-the-bands style competition alongside a day of worship and praise. From rock to hip-hop and praise bands to Gospel choirs, every sound and every style is represented and encouraged to participate. All submissions must be completed in their entirety and returned no later than Friday, January 9, 2015. The selected musicians will compete at Waves of Glory for two-thousand dollars in cash prizes, which include matched winnings by Wet ‘n Wild for each group to donate to a charity of their choice as well as the opportunity to perform live at Universal Orlando’s Rock the Universe, Florida’s largest Christian music festival, in September 2015.

A high-speed race awaits guests this summer when Wet ‘n Wild Orlando opens Florida’s tallest and fastest water-based racing attraction of its kind. The Aqua Drag Racer will be six stories tall and propel guests through four lanes of head-to-head competition at fifteen feet per-second before splashing them across the finish line.

Guests will take their mark, get ready for a full throttle adrenaline rush and then power through enclosed braided, twisting tunnels as they accelerate into four parallel racing lanes. They will gain even more speed before rushing toward the finish line. The Aqua Drag Racer is designed to be the wettest and wildest high-speed drag race ever.

All-New Sandcastle-Themed Water Playground Expected to Be the Largest of Its Kind in Florida

Wet ‘n Wild Orlando celebrated the grand opening of its newest attraction, Blastaway Beach™ – a family-friendly, sandcastle-themed water playground. It’s expected to be the largest water playground of its kind in Florida and Wet ‘n Wild’s first new attraction in over four years.

Built around a sandcastle rising 60-feet high, Blastaway Beach™ spans an acre and features 15 slides and expands across two pools with 160 soakers, jets, waterfalls and water cannons. Designed especially for families, the new area has a single entrance and exit, creating a secluded environment that is safe and fun for all ages.

To mark the occasion, Wet ‘n Wild asked local elementary school students to submit artistic representations of Blastaway Beach™. Fifty winners were selected and invited to bring their families to enjoy the new area. Wet ‘n Wild also gave the first 35 families to enter the park free access to Wet ‘n Wild’s All-U-Can-Eat Barbeque for the day.
