R.I.P.D., Rest In Peace Department

While I know the movie hasn’t gotten the best of reviews, I’m going to just go ahead and say that I enjoyed R.I.P.D. I have never read any of the comics or heck, I didn’t even know what this movie was about when we went into the theater. But guess what, I kind of want to see it again.

RIPD_Final1Sheet_4P_0620_RGB_1_SM

Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds headline the 3D supernatural action-adventure R.I.P.D. as two cops dispatched by the otherworldly Rest In Peace Department to protect and serve the living from an increasingly destructive array of souls who refuse to move peacefully to the other side.

Veteran sheriff Roy Pulsifer (Bridges) has spent his career with the legendary police force known as R.I.P.D. tracking monstrous spirits who are cleverly disguised as ordinary people.  His mission?  To arrest and bring to justice a special brand of criminals trying to escape final judgment by hiding among the unsuspecting on Earth.

Once the wise-cracking Roy is assigned former rising-star detective Nick Walker (Reynolds) as his junior officer, the new partners have to turn grudging respect into top-notch teamwork.  When they uncover a plot that could end life as we know it, two of R.I.P.D.’s finest must miraculously restore the cosmic balance…or watch the tunnel to the afterlife begin sending angry souls the very wrong way.

I get pretty anxious when it comes to movie theaters and normally I can’t zone out when I hear other people stirring in their seats or eating their candy or popcorn, but this is one of the few movies that I’ve seen in theaters lately where I feel like I completely zoned out.

The combination of Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds kept the movie having it’s little funny, quirky parts and I don’t know whether it was the actors just ad libbing during filming or if the writers get all the credit, but the side comments and funny things that the characters said back and forth to each other made me (and others) laugh quite a bit during the movie.

2_2416_D009_00576R

I loved seeing Mary Louise Parker in her role as Proctor to keep the boys in line.

1_2416_FPT2_00075R

Like I said, I didn’t know anything about this movie and had I known it had supernatural elements to it I’m not sure I would have wanted to see it, but I’m so glad I did. All of the special effects looked really good and worked well in the movie.

3_2416_FPT2_00409R

Oh and you can’t forget about Kevin Bacon…and I’ll leave it at just that when it comes to him.

4_2416_FPT2_00356R

R.I.P.D. had a very ‘Dead Like Me‘ feel to it. If you haven’t seen that show, you should. And if you like that show and want to see a twist put into it, this is definitely that. I really enjoyed Roy (Jeff Bridges) and how he was from the old west time period and it kept throughout the entire movie.

If you’re looking to get out of the heat (or rain!) and watch a movie that you can just kick back and enjoy, this could be the one for you.

You can find R.I.P.D on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr for even more fun!

My Take On Despicable Me 2

Despicable Me 2

Despicable Me 2

Come For The Minions, Stay For The Story

I was able to attend a media preview of Despicable Me 2, and I cannot tell you how happy I was to be able to see this movie!

In Despicable Me 2 we meet up again with the Gru (Steve Carrell), Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Agnes (Elsie Fisher), Edith (Dana Gaier), Dr. Nefario (Russell Brand), and of course the minions as they have settled into a more…domestic style life.

Despicable Me 2

Gone are Gru’s days of villainy, and here to stay are days of fathering, running a more respectable business, and tailoring his gadgets and minions to create a lifestyle of fun and ease for the family.

httpv://youtu.be/U5Ou90w5lDc

But as time passes Gru finds himself looking for more, and is recruited in a not so traditional way by Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig) of the Anti-Villain League to help crack a tough case.

Despicable Me 2

And while Gru deals with the job of solving the case, he find finds himself facing his fears of the girls growing up, the evil that is boys, his mixed emotions of missing his past life, and falling in love.

Film Title: Despicable Me 2

Despicable Me 2 has a story that is quick to draw you in, to make you laugh, to reflect, and to even cry.

Despicable Me 2

The new characters that join in the story of Despicable Me 2 blend in seamlessly, and as always the minions are there to keep things super fun and help move the plot along. There are definitely more minions, and they play an even larger part in the movie and that is okay with me!

Despicable Me 2

If you haven’t had the chance to go to see Despicable Me 2 in the theaters, what are you waiting for? This is definitely a movie that you will want (and probably in my case have) to see more than once with a smile on your face!

Jurassic Park 3D In Theaters Now

Today is the day – Jurassic Park 3D is in theaters!

JP3D_TSR1SHT_RGB_1101_1

And guess what…when I got a chance to see Jurassic Park 3D a couple of weeks in advance of the release, it was my FIRST time ever seeing Jurassic Park!

I was terrified and jumped around in my seat more times than I care to EVER admit. Seeing the t-rex torture those poor kids in that car made me freak out. Omg, I’m getting panicky just thinking about it…moving on…

2422_TP_00104R

Jurassic Park is definitely one of the biggest movies that has ever been released and as hard as it is to believe, it’s celebrating it’s 20th anniversary this year.

Another first for me was this was the first movie I’ve seen that’s been made into 3D. And it worked!

Steven Spielberg and his team did a great job remastering Jurassic Park into a 3D IMAX movie.

Universal Pictures will release Steven Spielberg’s groundbreaking classic JURASSIC PARK in 3D on April 5, 2013. With his remastering of the epic into a state-of-the-art 3D format, Spielberg introduces the three-time Academy Award®-winning blockbuster to a new generation of moviegoers and allows longtime fans to experience the world he envisioned in a way that was unimaginable during the film’s original release.

Starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Samuel L. Jackson and Richard Attenborough, the film based on the novel by Michael Crichton is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Gerald R. Molen.

(The story from the Jurassic Park website)

Make sure to follow the movie’s Twitter stream to see fans reactions and join the 3+ million fans on Facebook!

Oh, want some wallpapers, Twitter backgrounds or Twitter icons? Go here.

Are you excited for this re-release? I bet it’s truly amazing in IMAX…though those t-rex scenes would probably make run out of the theater screaming!

Disney Film Project Podcast Review

Disney Film Project Podcast
Disney Film Project Podcast

Films, for those who aren’t aware, are some of my favorite things in the entire world. My affinity for almost all things Disney mostly stems from my love of Disney movies. From there it grew to parks, music, tv shows, and beyond, but for me, it all comes back to the big screen. Imagine my excitement when a little over two years ago I learned that friends of mine were putting together a podcast revolving around reviewing and critiquing Disney films! I have to admit that I was a tad jealous that I wasn’t involved in the podcast, but that soon dissipated.

The Disney Film Project, from whence the Podcast was born, started as the brainchild of owner and proprietor, Ryan Kilpatrick. He began the project with this as his goal: “This is my attempt to view all the Disney films, both shorts and features. Read along to see what I learn as I embark on this voyage, and see what I discover as we watch the true genius of Walt Disney.” Ryan would often conduct what he called tweetwatches in a FriendFeed chat room where he would live tweet a movie and a bunch of us would all press play and watch along at the same time. We would jump in to the chat with questions and comments in awe of Ryan’s often exhaustive research regarding the film we were watching.

Eventually, the project grew into what quickly became one of my favorite podcasts, the Disney Film Project Podcast. Ryan recruited a fantastic crew of film buffs to be his co-hosts in Briana Alessio, Todd Perlmutter and our very own Cheryl Perlmutter as the glue that holds them all together as the show producer. From the very first episode on Beauty and the Beast back in January of 2011 up to this weeks episode 117 featuring Mulan, it has been entertaining along the entire way.

Disney Film Project Podcast hosts
Disney Film Project Podcast hosts

The podcast typically focuses on one film per episode, whether live action, animated feature, direct to video sequel or even Disney Channel Original Movies. Occasionally there are episodes that cover a theme like Halloween specials or multiple films in one, but for the most part on average a good hour or so is devoted to a single film. Each week it is apparent the effort that goes in to this podcast from the hosts of the show and their amazing research skills (always try to find a Star Wars connection).

I am one of those crazy completionists, so I diligently watch each film a few days prior to listening to the upcoming episode so it is fresh in my mind. This has been an interesting task as some of the films have been downright awful (I’m talking to you Condorman, Inspector Gadget, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 1 & 2 (and I’m sure eventually 3) and Hunchback of Notre Dame II), but even in the movies that are laborious to watch, the podcast episodes still shine. Sometimes it is even more enjoyable to hear a film completely torn apart. Along with those notoriously not good films you of course encounter the gems of classics like Mary Poppins, Darby O’Gill and the Little People (with my personal favorite, Sean Connery!!!), Cinderella, and fan favorites like the Avengers.

One of my favorite things about the Disney Film Project Podcast is that I always learn something new, whether it is a film I’ve never seen before, or one like The Little Mermaid I’ve seen dozens of times. These four take their time and do their homework to bring something fresh and new to each episode they produce. I have been fortunate to be on two episodes of the podcast for Cinderella and Up. If you want to go back and start from the beginning, you can download the mp3s via iTunes. DFPP is also available for streaming via Stitcher radio on smartphones, through the podcast app subscription on ios devices, and also streaming directly from the Disney Film Project website.

If you are looking for a new podcast that will keep you well informed and entertained when it comes to the films of the Walt Disney Company, including subsidiaries like Pixar, Marvel and Touchstone, look no further than the Disney Film Project Podcast. Go listen to what the wonky sluices over there have cooking up on their blog with new movie reviews, for films new to Blu Ray, in theaters or on the Disney Channel. This is one podcast you should definitely give a chance if you are at all a fan of Disney films and desire to learn more or even just to see if you can guess what their ratings are and if they match yours. Head on over and check them out now!

Les Miserables With Shane – Do You Hear That Ambient Noise?

Les Miserables With Shane – Do You Hear That Ambient Noise?

Shane Grizzard takes us along to the movies with his review of Les Miserables!

Les Miserables

Last week I got the second greatest Hanukkah gift ever when Shelley invited me to go see the Les Miserables film a week early and cover it for the site. I was very excited because, contrary to popular belief, I’ve never seen a true production of Les Mis before, despite my background in theatre. The only time I’ve ever seen it partially was PBS’s 25th anniversary concert, which was very hard to follow along because there was little scenery, props or stage direction.

Les Miserables is a musical based on Victor Hugo’s famous novel that tells the story of several families’ lives over the years leading up to the [failed] Paris Uprising of 1832. The main conflict follows Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman), a reformed convict, and Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe), the officer trying to recapture him for breaking parole.

I invited my friend Mike along to the early screening, partly because he’s a Les Mis veteran- his cousin played Gavroche on Broadway for a year and they saw it like 12 times- so he would be a good contrasting opinion to my newbie voice. Going in, he kept telling me to pay attention the revolutionary new way they filmed the singing. You see, in the past when movie musicals were made they would record the soundtrack first and then when you went to film the scene the actors would lip sync to the song. In Les Mis they decided to film the singing live in the moment while a pianist played in the actors’ ears off screen and then add the orchestrations in post production. Theoretically, this would create a more theatrical experience, allowing the actors to be more emotionally involved in the scene. Sounds good, right?

I have to say this was my biggest pet peeve for the first half of the film. Perhaps it was the acoustics of some of the spaces where they filmed. Perhaps it was because of the ambient noise in some of the scenes. Perhaps it was because my heart was two sizes too small. (Wait- right holiday, wrong story.) But it kept taking me out of the scene. For some reason it didn’t feel like a musical and more like just people randomly singing out of nowhere. At points I just wanted the actors to stop crying and finish singing the dang song!

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCPoIsi8m08&feature=share&list=PLA01F605EEACAC54B

Another issue I had was there are many “inner monologue” moments throughout the musical. You know like in a Shakespearean play where a character would step out and say what they were thinking or explain something to the audience. This works well on the stage but feels odd when you try to adapt it to film, especially when the actors are singing every moment out loud and not keeping their thoughts in their heads. One particular moment, the student Marius (Eddie Redmayne) was thanking his best friend Eponine (Samantha Barks) for finding the love of his life Cosette (Amanda Seyfried), a girl whom he had only seen once across a crowded square (don’t get me started). Eponine is standing off to the side singing aloud about how every word is like a dagger in her heart and she wishes he would just see her for once- ALL FIVE FEET FROM THE GUY. I kept expecting him to turn and say “I’m sorry, did you you say something?”

The actors were hit and miss. I went in to this with very low expectations of Russell Crowe. Yes, he’s sung in his own band before, but can he carry one of leads in this major almost-operatic musical? Personally, I thought Crowe did better than I expected, but as Mike went on to point out he still wasn’t on the caliber of every Broadway actor who’s played the role before him, especially when placed against Hugh Jackman, a stage veteran. Sacha Baron Cohen (who played Thénardier) couldn’t sing either, but was very funny in his little improvisations and quips with Helena Bonham Carter. Unfortunately though there was very little comedy to cut through this extremely dramatic film.

All that being said, as many issues as I had with Les Mis, I found the next day I was longing to go back and see it again! The movie was epic and and the score was beautiful. If you’re a fan of the musical, rest assured they cut barely anything out. Mike and I could only think of one or two small songs that weren’t there. If you’re not a fan, be warned they cut barely anything out and you’re walking into a three hour musical with no intermission. Definitely go to the bathroom before you see the film!

My conclusion: Though I had many issues with the production of this film and its transition from stage to screen and I wouldn’t put it in my list of Top 5 Films of 2012, it was still enjoyable! Go see it, if you’re into epic musicals about depressing miserable French people!

I hope you have a happy holidays!

Brave Is Available Now On Disney Blu-Ray

Brave
Brave is available now on Blu-Ray!

The first time I saw “Brave” it resonated with me on so many levels, and while I was an emotional wreck I was already excited to own it on Blu-Ray! Watching Merida and her Mother, Queen Elinor, made me think of when I was like Merida, a rebellious daughter, and now as a mother who, like Queen Elinor, is now in that tricky place where nurturing turns into molding a person where it is easy to get lost in responsibilities. And in November when “Brave” was released on Blu-Ray I was beyond excited with the quality of the movie and extras!

“Brave” follows the heroic journey of Merida, a skilled archer and headstrong daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the unruly and uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to harness all of her skills and resources – including her clever and mischievous triplet brothers – to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late, discovering the meaning of true bravery.

Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, and produced by Katherine Sarafian, “Brave” is a grand adventure full of heart, memorable characters and signature Pixar humor that audiences of all ages around the world have come to eagerly expect.

“Brave” is absolutely stunning in the Blu-Ray format. The picture itself is just as breathtaking as it was on the big screen and the sound is just as immersive. The attention to detail really resonates in HD, and is a true delight to watch over and over again.

Brave

There are tons of great HD extras spread over two discs. With 13 featurettes, 4 extended scenes, an alternative opening, 15 minutes of promotional pieces from around the world, an art gallery with almost 500 images, and a sneak peek at Monsters University you will be busy for hours!

While there are a lot of different opinions about “Brave”, I have to say that it is definitely a new favorite in our house!

Tinker Bell And The Secret Of The Wings ** Spoiler Free **

Tinker Bell and the Secret of the Wings

Tinker Bell and the Secret of the Wings

Being the proud father of a six year old little princess obsessed with all things Tinker Bell, I have seen the previous three Fairies movies more times that should be allowed by law.  However, Disney has done a fantastic job keeping this franchise alive and fresh much longer than most, and they definitely didn’t disappoint this time around.  Their ability to take a secondary character and transform her into a compelling central figure has been unmatched with this franchise. Kids, at least mine, can’t get enough of the misadventures of this spunky sprite and her band of fairy friends.

Disney’s fourth animated Fairies tale, Tinker Bell And The Secret Of The Wings, follows the continued adventures, and misadventures of Tinker Bell and the fairies of Pixie Hollow.  Once again Tink’s curiosity and knack for trouble takes her on a journey into a place forbidden for warm weather fairies to go.   The Winter Woods, a cold unforgiving side of Pixie Hollow, lies just beyond a stream at the border of the warm weather fairies domain.  While helping animal migrate to the Winter Woods, Tink’s curiosity drives her across the border into the cold where she experiences her wings glowing brightly in the cold and snowy air.  When she discovers the answers to the mystery of her miraculous glowing wings lies deep in the Winter Woods with the winter fairies, her adventure begins. But she will soon discover that both joy and danger await her on her journey.

Tinker Bell and The Secret of the Wings is a sweet, heartfelt story about love, determination, tolerance, and the importance of family. It manages to take a simple concept and story line  and deliver a great message while maintaining a high entertainment value.  My 6 year old daughter, who generally can’t sit through an entire movie, was captivated from start to finish. It flowed very nicely though the story, and there was very little down time, so it kept the attention of my little girl throughout.  It is a great movie for the whole family, and with a running time under 90 minutes, it is perfect for the younger kids as well. The dazzling animation will hook you, and the great story telling will keep you captivated to the very end.  Secret of the Wings was as good, if not better that all three previous films, and I would highly recommend it to any fans of family movies, not just the Disney fans out there.

Petes Dragon Celebrating 35 Years And Now Avaialble On Disney BluRay

Petes Dragon
Pete’s Dragon is Celebrating it’s 35th Anniversary on BluRay!

PETES DRAGON 35th Anniversary Edition BLU_RAY

Available for the First Time in High Definition with New Digital Restoration on October 16th, 2012 in a 2-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack

Petes Dragon is one of the first Disney movies that I saw as a child, and was one of my favorites.  I had not seen it since I was my daughter’s age, so it was great to be able to watch it with her like it was my first time.  The timeless story of lost and rediscovered love never gets old and makes for a great family movie.

This endearing story between Pete and his invisible dragon friend Elliott as they develop a special bond and share a magical friendship is a classic Walt Disney movie that is a must see.  With memorable cast of characters, Mickey Rooney, Helen Reddy, Sean Marshall, Red Buttons, and Jim Dale, and heartwarming songs including the 1977 Academy Award “Best Original Song” nominee, “Candle On The Water,” Pete’s Dragon 35th Anniversary is the perfect timeless classic every member of your family will love.

When Pete, an orphan, and his best friend Elliot, an invisible green dragon, wander into the seaside village of Passamaquody, the townspeople think he’s behind a slew of hilarious mishaps. But after a daring rescue, they change their tune and believe in Pete’s fire-breathing buddy.

While the transfer of the film to High Definition isn’t without its flaws, the movie still holds a lot of charm! And the Bonus Features on Petes Dragon are a lot of fun! We really enjoyed looking at Brazzle Dazzle Effects: Behind Disney’s Movie Magic and the Deleted Storyboard Sequence: “Terminus & Hoagy Hunt Elliott”.

If you ever had an invisible friend when you were younger or remember watching this movie when you were younger, you won’t want to miss the chance to relive this movie classic again!

The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under Available on Disney Blu-Ray

The Rescuers
The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under Available Now on Disney Blu-Ray!

To commemorate the 35th anniversary of an original classic, Disney proudly presents a special 2-movie collection featuring all-time family favorites, The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under, for the first time ever on Blu-ray! Join two of the world’s bravest mice – Bernard and Bianca – as they set out on two thrilling rescue missions full of comic adventure while soaring through the Devil’s Bayou and flying sky high in the Australian outback.

The Rescuers Is based on the children’s books by Margery Sharp, which are great reads, and are full of great adventures and lessons for the whole family.

In The Rescuers, Miss Bianca and Bernard travel to Louisiana to rescue Penny from the evil Madame Medusa.  While I really enjoyed the story of the The Rescuers the animation definitely has its moments yet in the end it just isn’t as great as other Disney Animated Classics. I also had a really hard time becoming invested in Madame Medusa as a villain. Zoe spent a lot of time laughing and enjoying The Rescuers, because it is filled with face paced action and tons of gags that she found hilarious.

Also included in this 35th Anniversary combo pack is The Rescuers Down Under, the sequel to the original movie. With the same general premise, except set in Australia, the movie tries really hard but never makes it up to the same level as The Rescuers The comedy is more slap-stick and the action is a little lack luster at times.

As with all other Disney Blu-Ray movies , The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under is chocked full of some great Bonus Features!!!

  • “Peoplitis” is a deleted song written for a scene that was never animated. Ron Clements introduces us to the scene (using storyboards) and song as sung by Louis Prima
  •  “The Three Blind Mouseketeers” is a 1936 Silly Symphony cartoon
  • Water Birds is the Oscar-winning 1952 short feature in the True-Life Adventure series detailing many different species of water fowl with the legendary nature photography Disney became known for. This is in 1080p and runs for 30 minutes.
  • “Someone’s Waiting for You” sing along song offers on-screen lyrics with clips from The Rescuers.
  • “The Making of The Rescuers Down Under is a vignette giving a few minutes of face time to producer Thomas Schumacher, directors Hendel Butoy and Mike Gabriel, several animators, and the film’s art director discussing the two year production period that included a research trip to Australia and trips to the San Diego Zoo to watch real animals in motion.

Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure Available Now On Disney Blu-Ray

Lady and the Tramp II
Lady and the Tramp II Available Now On Disney Blu-Ray
Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure is available now for the first time ever on Disney Blu-Ray!

I absolutely love Lady and the Tramp, which probably explains my unusual love of Tony’s Town Square at the Magic Kingdom, so when the opportunity to review Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure came about I jumped at the chance!

In Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure, Lady and Tramp’s mischievous pup Scamp decides that he doesn’t fit in with his family and decides to run away. Once he has left his collar behind, he joins a gang of junkyard dogs who don’t always have his best interests in mind. Scamp also meets, saves, and falls in love with a pretty little pup named Angel, voiced by Alyssa Milano, along the way. This movie is a great example of the heartwarming direct-to-video sequels that were being created at the time of its original release. There are some great nods to Lady and the Tramp in Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure, and it really looks great in this Blu-Ray Format.

Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure has some fun bonuses, and we really enjoyed the Puppy Trivia Track which allows you to watch the movie with tons of fun facts about dogs, the movie, and dogs as they have appeared throughout Disney. Also on the Blu-Ray release of Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure you can find some Pluto Bonus Shorts, which are always a must watch for my family.

You can absolutely tell that Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure was created by people who have love and respect for Lady and the Tramp, and is a cute movie to watch if your family is full of dog lovers! We enjoyed the movie, but be warned it is a shorter side so you may be asked to watch it twice!!!

When the bumbling butler Edgar tries to pull off the ultimate catnap caper in order to secure the fortune for himself, it’s up to alley cat Thomas O’Malley and his band of swingin’ jazz cats to save the day. The Aristocats features the voice talents of Eva Gabor, Phil Harris, Sterling Halloway and legendary French singer Maurice Chevalier, who performs the film’s titular opening song. The legendary Disney songwriting team of brothers, Richard and Robert Sherman, get the joint jumping with the jazz-inspired musical numbers Ev’rybody Wants To Be A Cat, Scales and Arpeggios, and Thomas O’Malley Cat.

The Aristocats Special Edition is chocked full of great bonus features, and is an especially wonderful treat if you are a super fan (like I am) of the Sherman Brothers!!! During The Lost Open featurette, Richard Sherman takes you through storyboards of a never-before-seen alternate beginning which introduces a deleted character and a deleted song How Much You Mean To Me and Court Me Slowly written and performed by the Sherman brothers. This song demo was one of the few times Richard and Robert ever sang together. And if your little one is anything like mine, they will be playing all of the songs over and over again! Zoe is especially fond of Ev’rybody Wants To Be A Cat! Also, The Aristocats Special Edition also has one of my most favorite Figaro shorts!!! Additional classic bonus features on The Aristocats Special Edition include the delightful deleted song, She Never Felt Alone and The Great Cat Family (Excerpt), which explores the history of cats.

The Aristocats Special Edition full bonus features include…

– Oui Oui Marie Music Video

– Deleted Song – She Never Felt Alone: This deleted song, complete with animation, will tug at the heartstrings of any animal lover, as Duchess explains to Thomas O’ Malley why she must return to her beloved owner Madame Bonfamille. Richard Sherman discusses the song he co-wrote with his brother Robert, which captures the special relationship between a pet owner and their animal. It’s a moving sequence that will stir everyone’s fondest memories of their favorite pets.

– The Sherman Brothers: The Aristocats of Disney Songs: A tribute to the legendary Disney songwriting team of Robert and Richard Sherman, with particular emphasis on The Aristocats.

– The Great Cat Family (Excerpt): This animated excerpt tells the history of cats from ancient Egyptians to the present.

– The Classic Disney short Bath Day: Figaro has been freshly bathed and perfumed by Minnie when he meets up with Lucifer and his gang who chase him. In the ensuing fight, the gang is fooled into beating up Lucifer and making Figaro the winner. But the victor is soon put back in the tub by Minnie.

– Disney Song Selection:

  • Scales and Arpeggios
  • Thomas O’Malley Cat

A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes,” and at the stroke of midnight, October 2, 2012, dreams around the globe really will come true when The Walt Disney Studios opens its prestigious vault to release one of Walt Disney’s most timeless and beloved masterpieces of all time, Cinderella, in the highly anticipated Blu-ray™ Diamond Edition Collection.

Cinderella is by far my favorite Princess! I love everything about Cinderella, and how she never gives up or becomes cruel in the face of adversity. And to have the opportunity to review Cinderella: Diamond Edition was a complete pleasure, because I was floored by the beauty of the animation when I was watching it on BluRay. It was amazing to watch this classic become as vivid as it is in my memories, and to hear the crispness of the sound. I will admit that I have asked Zoe if we could watch it over and over again!!!

The “Cinderella: Diamond Edition,” with its spellbinding storyline, memorable music, unforgettable characters and spectacular animation, sparkles like never before with a wide-array of bonus features that extend the viewing experience for the whole family to enjoy including never-before-seen material, family-friendly interactive activities, games and more.

There are soooo many bonus features on Cinderella: Diamond Edition!!! From the opportunity to watch Cinderella with an introduction from Diane Disney Miller, to a new Tangled Ever After animated short, a never before seen alternate opening sequence, and Behind The Magic: A New Disney Princess Fantasyland which is a look at New Fantasyland opening soon!
