It’s official: On Thursday, June 10, thrill-seekers will have the opportunity to soar 155 feet in the air and catapult up to 70 mph alongside a ferocious Velociraptor pack as the Jurassic World VelociCoaster – Florida’s fastest and tallest launch coaster – opens at Universals Islands of Adventure at the Universal Orlando Resort.
This all-new species of roller coaster was conceived and designed by the award-winning Universal Creative team in partnership with acclaimed filmmakers from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment – bringing to life a new “Jurassic World” story that combines the epic thrills and popular characters from the blockbuster film franchise with jaw-dropping roller coaster maneuvers. The original cast from the movies – Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and BD Wong – reprise their roles as Owen Grady, Claire Dearing and Dr. Henry Wu in the thrilling new attraction, which sends guests on an extreme adventure through the raptor paddock and beyond with the films’ Velociraptor pack: Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo.
VelociCoaster will transport guests into a dynamic environment inspired by the “Jurassic World” films, surrounded by intricately detailed rock work and lush landscaping, conveniently located near the elevated watch tower used to keep an eye on the dinosaurs. Once inside, guests are greeted by Dr. Wu as they learn about the cutting-edge new coaster, which Jurassic World is touting as its newest “carnivore expansion.” Along the way, they’ll hear the screams of fellow riders as they rapidly roar by with Blue, Delta, Charlie and Echo right on their heels – and even come face-to-face with a few hungry Velociraptors who are anxiously awaiting being released from their stables. As the adrenaline builds and guests approach the load platform, they will hear a few reassuring words from Claire Dearing – and one final warning from Owen Grady.
Then, the ultimate high-speed chase begins.
After boarding revolutionary ride vehicles that have been specially designed to intensify the thrills, guests take off on an epic coaster experience that sends them through the raptor paddock, into the air, just inches above water, and more. They’ll encounter a series of intense maneuvers along the coaster’s 4,700 feet of track, including near-misses, a barrel roll right above the Islands of Adventure lagoon, high-speed launches – the fastest reaching 70 mph in 2.4 seconds – and the signature “Top Hat,” which propels riders 155 feet in the air and then immediately into an 80-degree drop – Universal’s steepest drop yet.

The world’s premier Halloween event, Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights, is back – returning this fall for its much-anticipated 30th year and unleashing a sinister lineup of horrifying experiences on select nights beginning on September 3 through October 31.
Guests will face 10 terrifying haunted houses, five twisted scare zones and two outrageous live shows based on some of the biggest names in horror and pop culture – with the first haunted house of the season featuring the ‘ghost with the most’ and Halloween Horror Nights legend, “Beetlejuice.”
Beetlejuice was the first “ghost host” of Halloween Horror Nights – originally called ‘Fright Nights’ – during the event’s debut in 1991. As Halloween Horror Nights 2021 celebrates a milestone year, this former host will become the supernatural star of a bone-chilling haunted house based on Warner Bros. Pictures and Tim Burton’s Academy Award-winning horror-fantasy film.
Guests will be at the whim of the self-described “Bio-Exorcist” as they shadow Beetlejuice’s every move through artfully recreated scenes from the popular film.
From the infamous haunted attic within the Maitland home, to the model graveyard and Dante’s Inferno Room, guests will have the extraordinary chance to enter the movie surrounded by its most iconic characters.
With brash defiance, Beetlejuice is ready to turn on the juice and see what shakes loose – and his plans don’t include returning to the land of the unliving.
And this is just the beginning… more details about Halloween Horror Nights 2021 will be revealed in the months ahead.
Universal Orlando will continue to monitor the environment and implement enhanced health and safety procedures for its operation of Halloween Horror Nights this fall. Specific details will be shared closer to the event’s debut. For more information about Universal Orlando’s current health and safety guidelines, click here.

Spring Break is almost here, and it is going to be an incredibly busy season for the theme parks of Central Florida.
To help you navigate the parks, here are a few Spring Break tips by park!
Spring Break 2021 Tips
Walt Disney World
The Walt Disney World theme parks are all sold out for Resort and ticket holders, but some Annual Passholder availability has flickered in and out so be sure to check the Park Pass Reservation page often.
If you do have a ticket and are looking to park hop after 2pm, keep this number handy (407) 560-5000! This number will inform you if a park is at capacity and not accepting park hoppers.
Please do yourself a favor and don’t show up to ‘talk your way in’. The capacity is what it is, and if you do not have a reservation you will be turned away.
Disney Springs will also be EXTREMELY busy!!!! Also be aware that if you have a dining reservation, you are not guaranteed entry into Disney Springs.
Universal Orlando Resort
The Universal Orlando Resort does not take reservations for Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure, so these parks will absolutely cap out with capacity early in the day due to the amazing ticket and hotel deals they have right now.
The Universal Social Media Team is GREAT at posting about park hours, tips, and when the parks reach capacity & are letting guests in again. So make sure you follow @universalorl on Twitter
If you do get into the parks, bring a lot of patience!!! The lines will be long, so make sure to be kind & social distance.
SeaWorld Orlando
All guests with existing tickets, Fun Cards, or Annual Passes must make a reservation using this system in advance in order to manage park capacity and maintain physical distancing
Again, these parks will be SUPER busy so bring your patience and be prepared for those long lines.

If you are On the Go in the Parks this weekend you might want to bring an umbrella, but don’t let the sprinkles keep you away from having an awesome time in the parks this President’s Day Weekend!
Before we head into the parks, let’s look at two different but equally awesome Valentine’s Day offers!
Madame Tussauds Orlando at ICON Park on I-Drive will shred old photos of exes in exchange for free admission. Don’t worry if you are paperless, because the attraction will accept a deleted photo of your ex from your phone. Free admission – and freedom from the past – begin on Valentine’s Day, Sunday, February 14, and run through Monday to include #SinglesAwaressDay on February 15, obviously.
One of my absolute favorite places to eat at Disney Springs is Raglan RoadIrish Pub, and this Valentine’s Day guests 21 and older will be offered a complimentary glass of pink bubbly to toast their brunch, lunch, or dinner visit or to pair with a special dessert like the Rocky Road to Raglan dessert – double chocolate and smoked almond brownie with chocolate ice cream, house-made marshmallow, toffee crunch, chocolate crumbs, and raspberry puree.
What’s great about Raglan Road is they have great outdoor and indoor seating options with live music in each area starting at noon.
The Seven Seas Food Festival continues at SeaWorld Orlando, but for the next two weekends, they will be celebrating Fat Tuesday with all of the sights, sounds, and flavors of New Orleans’ favorite time of year—Mardi Gras!
The Carnival fun will include your chance to experience a:
Pop-Up Parade: SeaWorld’s Wild Arctic Plaza comes to life as entertainers, bead captains, stilt walkers, and musicians bring the Mardi Gras spirit to SeaWorld during this special pop-up parade.
Jazz Band: Immerse yourself in the music of New Orleans as this band brings the Cajun sound and jazz classics to Orlando.
Street Party: The sights and sounds of Bourbon Street will fill the air in Wild Arctic Plaza with a DJ, street performers, and physically distant dance party.
Gulf Coast Flavors: Enjoy classic Gulf Coast flavors as part of the Seven Seas Food Festival including New Orleans favorites like beignets, po-boys, and southern libations. 11:30 am through park close.
Bayside Stadium will once again be rocking with tribute concerts throughout the day! On February 13th you can see tribute bands Absolute Queen/U.S. Stones/Let It Be and on February 14th you can see tribute performances to Lady Gaga/Britney Spears/Jennifer Lopez .
Experience an international food fest with cuisine and entertainment inspired by international Carnaval celebrations. Sample the flavors of Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Germany, Spain, and other regions including, of course, New Orleans.
Plus enjoy spectacular floats on display, street entertainment, music, beads, and more throughout the theme park.
Don’t forget that right now the Universal Orlando Resort has AMAZING Florida Resident deals on Annual Passes (3 months free on any two park pass), tickets (Buy a Day, Get 3 free), and resort stays!!!!
The Taste of Epcot International Festival of Arts at Walt Disney World Resort continues to draw guests into the arts daily until February 22, 2021.
While this year’s global celebration of the visual, culinary, and performing arts may look a little different, guests will still be able to enjoy a wide selection of activities for the entire family that is included in their admission to the park.
Let the Good Times Roll with Busch Gardens Mardi Gras through February 16.
This year, join the fun every weekend to celebrate safely with an expanded Mardi Gras event! Enjoy more weekends all the way through “Fat Tuesday” with open-air festivities and French-Quarter flair.
Get jazzed up with Mardi Gras-style live music and New Orleans-inspired entertainment.
Catch some festival beads from strolling performers throughout the day, and get caught up in the fun as you dance through spacious walkways.
Feast like kings and queens on classic Cajun cuisine as Busch Gardens brings the “Big Easy” to Tampa Bay.
Tempt your taste buds with a signature shrimp po’boy, hearty jambalaya, and gumbo, or specialty sweets like iconic beignets.
Handcrafted cocktail classics like Hurricanes join new signature drinks for a perfect pairing with the park’s carefully crafted culinary offering.
SeaWorld Orlando is a fantastic theme park for kids, and now pint-sized guests can enjoy an ocean of experiences with the free 2021 Preschool Card, available now for a limited time.
Florida children under the age of 5 can enroll in the 2021 Preschool Card which grants them free admission for a year full of fun and safe theme park experiences at SeaWorld Orlando in a spacious outdoor environment with limited capacity and enhanced health and safety protocols.

The Universal Orlando Resort has announced that Universal’s Volcano Bay – Universal Orlando Resort’s water theme park – will begin welcoming guests again on Saturday, February 27.
One of three amazing theme parks at Universal Orlando, Universal’s Volcano Bay is a tropical oasis filled with a variety of relaxing and thrilling experiences – all surrounding a massive 200-foot volcano nestled right in the center of the park. Upon entering the picturesque park, guests are immediately transported to a South Seas-inspired paradise where they can relax on the sands of Waturi Beach, drift leisurely down Kopiko Wai Winding River, brave a 125-foot drop alongside the volcano on Ko’okiri Body Plunge and so much more.
Volcano Bay’s enhanced health and safety procedures will be in place when the park reopens on February 27 and reflect the guidelines that debuted last year. Key measures include temperature screenings for guests and team members, limiting capacity at the park and on attractions – including rivers and pools, enforcing social distancing, aggressive cleaning and disinfection procedures, and requiring face coverings inside restaurants, retail locations, and when entering and exiting the park. Face coverings are not permitted on the slides and in the pools.

Tickets for Volcano Bay are on sale now for visits beginning February 27. Three-park annual and seasonal passes, as well as vacation packages, that include access to Volcano Bay will be available for purchase in the weeks ahead.

Guests can enjoy City Works’ 17 HDTVs, state-of-the-art audio, and one enormous 168-inch video wall – many of which will feature the big game, so every seat is the best seat in the house.
