Universal Orlando Mardi Gras 2020 Guide On the Go in the Parks February

Universal Orlando is celebrating 25 years of its family-friendly Mardi Gras festivities with new parade floats, globally inspired cuisine, and live concerts on select nights from February 1 to April 2 at the Universal Studios Florida theme park.

This year’s parade features six new additional floats, and steps-off at 7:45 pm on February 1 and 6 pm on February 2.

On select nights during the event, guests can enjoy performances by some of the biggest names in music on the Universal Music Plaza Stage.

Here is who will be performing in February:

Saturday, February 15: Bell Biv DeVoe
Sunday, February 16: Live
Saturday, February 22: Kool & the Gang
Saturday, February 29: TLC

Opening daily at 4 pm, the French Quarter Courtyard is where you can find food and spirits available for purchase and performances from Louisiana jazz, blues, and zydeco bands. You can see the Dirty Bourbon River Show will take to the French Quarter Courtyard Stage daily until February 13 and then February 14 – March 5 will feature the Free Agents Brass Band.

All of the excitement of Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras celebration is included with admission to Universal Studios Florida or with a Seasonal or Annual Pass (blockout dates apply).

And until April 2, Florida residents can experience this year’s Mardi Gras celebration and the spring season by saving up to $65 on multi-day tickets and up to $75 on Seasonal and Annual Passes.

Don’t forget that Mardi Gras celebrations at Universal Studios Florida are held rain or shine, so be sure to plan accordingly.

Seven Seas Food Festival

SeaWorld Orlando’s Seven Seas Food Festival is back for another year to give guests the delicious opportunity to taste their way around the world of international street food traditions. The Seven Seas Food Festival will run from February 7 through May 5 (New – now including Fridays), to give park-goers plenty more chances to sample more than 180 mouthwatering options!

In addition to delicious eats, guests visiting SeaWorld’s Seven Seas Food Festival can enjoy world-class entertainment every Saturday and Sunday at Bayside Stadium, all included with theme park admission.

Epcot Festival of the Arts

The annual Epcot International Festival of the Arts at the Walt Disney World Resort will fill the park with a celebration of visual, culinary, and performing arts from around the world through February 24, 2020.

The 39 day event features visiting artists, culinary delights, and opportunities for guests to embrace their own inner artists.

Festival event ‘Must Do’s’ include the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, the new Green Landing Family Play Zone, and the Food Studios with dishes that are almost too pretty to eat!

The Disney on Broadway Concert Series is the highlight of the Epcot International Festival of the Arts as Broadway stars reprise favorite songs from past performances in award-winning shows three times a day on the American Gardens Theatre stage.

Performances are at 5:30 PM, 6:45 PM and 8:00 PM daily, and you will want to arrive AT LEAST 30 minutes before the concert is set to begin.

Start the day with a celebration! Reserve your table and join Elmo and friends for breakfast at the Seafire Grill.

Inside Look at SeaWorld Orlando – January 2020

In 2020 SeaWorld Orlando is continuing their 52 weekends of celebrations included with theme park admission, and this weekend the January Inside Look event, running on Friday’s, Saturday’s, and Sunday’s through January 26, will begin.

During SeaWorld Orlando’s January Inside Look event, families will dive deeper into the world of dolphin, sea lions, manatees, and more.

This behind-the-scenes event gives guests the chance to meet and interact with SeaWorld’s renowned veterinarians and animal experts as they give an intimate look at the day-to-day care they provide these amazing animals including exclusive access to areas of the park never before visited by guests.

Sesame Street Christmas Parade Viewing Tips

This year SeaWorld Orland’s Christmas Celebration, Sesame Street Land has been decked out for the holidays and their daily parade has a fun holiday twist!

The Sesame Street Christmas Parade features Big Bird, Grover, Elmo, and friends in their holiday best as dancing along to holiday favorites, such as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Joy to the World.”

The Sesame Street Christmas Parade is very popular, so here are a few tips for making your viewing the best it can possibly be.

The parade does not just roll down the middle of Sesame Street. The parade starts over near Abby’s Flower Tower before heading down to the end of Sesame Street Land and stopping to fill the area along the neighborhood (not attractions) with fun.

While the parade does stop, children are not encouraged to step out and join the characters during the parade stops. It’s helpful to set this expectation early, because it is tempting for little ones to want to join the dancing.

Make sure to get your spot at least 30 minutes before the parade starts to grab a spot along the street.

Be aware that if you are in the front row, you will be asked to sit down for the parade so that others behind you will be able to see.

While you are in the neighborhood, take time to enjoy the holiday decorations throughout Sesame Street Land! My favorite are the decorations in the Laundromat made of lost socks!

The Sesame Street Christmas Parade is a fantastic addition to SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration, and it is included with your theme park admission until December 31st.

Riptide Race Rushing Into Aquatica in 2020

Aquatica Orlando is racing into 2020 with a one-of-a-kind new park attraction that will thrill park-goers—Florida’s first-ever dueling water slide, Riptide Race.

Starting atop a 68-foot tower, riders will be able to grab a raft and take their mark in side-by-side racing lanes at top speeds. Each raft holds a team of two, so every rider will have a partner as they plunge toward a hopeful victory. Plus, Riptide Race rafts feature low walls to ensure full view of the competition. Dueling face-to-face, racers will navigate tight loops and accelerations through indoor and outdoor sections. It’s a marathon to the finish through nearly 650 feet of splashing slide!

Praise Wave is SeaWorld Orlando’s popular Christian music event that continues their year long celebrations every weekend in the park!

Amidst so much heaviness consuming events of today’s world, Rend Collective is sharing good news as a response to that brokenness. The Ireland-hailing Rend Collective is harkening back to their roots-y, unique sound – originally birthed out of Bangor, Ireland – for their sixth studio album, Good News. Taking on the moniker “Purveyors of Good News,” Rend Collective is barreling down the road of authenticity, and simple old-fashioned Gospel. Walt Disney Imagineering Presents: The Epcot Experience

Right now Epcot, at the Walt Disney World Resort, is buzzing with activity as it undergoing the biggest transformation ever in Disney Theme Park history as the park prepares to add several new attractions, pavilions, experiences, and entertainment.

To help guests have a better visualization of the upcoming changes, a new experience showcasing the changes has opened in Future World’s Odyssey Pavilion – between Test Track and the Mexico pavilion – called Walt Disney Imagineering Presents: The Epcot Experience.

Brick or Treat happens weekends in October at the LEGOLAND Florida Resort with a spirited lineup of LEGO festivities including trick or treating along a LEGO trail, exclusive Halloween character experiences and a nightly firework show that make it appear as if thousands of LEGO bricks are exploding in the sky.

New in 2020: SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay have revealed details regarding new attractions coming to the parks in 2020.

This marks the first time in four years that both parks have launched new coasters in the same year.

Iron Gwazi – Opening Spring 2020 at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

A NEW legend is surfacing in 2020 at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay with the evolution of Iron Gwazi, North America’s tallest, and the fastest, and steepest hybrid coaster in the world. Manufactured by Rocky Mountain Construction, Iron Gwazi will be 206 feet tall, feature a 91-degree drop, and reach top speeds of 76 miles per hour. The journey will include three inversions and 12 airtime hills as it races along more than 4,075 feet of purple steel track. With a 48” height requirement, Iron Gwazi will be an exciting thrill attraction that families can take on together.

“Iron Gwazi is the evolution of a classic wooden coaster into a modern icon,” said Stewart Clark, Park President of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. “From the bones of the original Gwazi, a new legend rises, reaching taller heights and faster speeds, delivering the next-level thrills that our coaster fans crave and expect from Busch Gardens.”

While elements of the former wooden attraction will be integrated into the new ride, the steel track and reimagined layout of Iron Gwazi present an entirely unique experience that tells a different story. Iron Gwazi will highlight the best of both worlds — the classic nostalgia of a wooden coaster and the bold innovation of a steel coaster.

Thriving and adapting over millions of years, this evolutionary crossroad is perfectly represented in the crocodile, the largest living reptile and the animal inspiration for Iron Gwazi.

Solar Vortex – Opening Spring 2020 at Adventure Island

Spin and splash at Adventure Island on Solar Vortex — America’s first dual-tailspin water slide.

This thrilling family raft slide combines high-banking rotations and rapid descents, sending sliders on a swirling journey through two open tailspin features. Manufactured by Whitewater, Solar Vortex will also include three dynamic AquaLucent elements — harnessing the power of the Florida sun into colorful patterns that shine through the slide as riders reach speeds of up to 20 miles per hour.

Solar Vortex will be an electrifying new ride for families next year when it opens with the 2020 Adventure Island season.

Ice Breaker – Opening Spring 2020 at SeaWorld Orlando

Making its debut in spring 2020, riders will shiver through family friendly adventures on SeaWorld Orlando’s first launch coaster: Ice Breaker.

Named after the icy Arctic summits, Ice Breaker will feature four launches, both backwards and forwards, culminating in a reverse launch into the steepest beyond vertical drop in Florida — a 93-foot tall spike with 100-degree angle.

Located near the Wild Arctic Attraction, the ride’s theme is reflective of this area with a nod to Ice Breaker’s conservation partner, Alaska SeaLife Center. Primarily dedicated to marine research, education and wildlife response, the Alaska SeaLife Center mission matches closely to SeaWorld Orlando’s, making them a perfect partner to help educate riders about the Artic and its inhabitants.
