The Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando is debuting new Latin-inspired dishes and concerts starting this weekend, and I was invited to give you a sneak peek of what you will find!

Seven Seas Food Festival Latin American Eats

SeaWorld Orlando’s Executive Chef Hector Colon and his team have created eight new dishes that are inspired by Latin American flavors and traditions to join the existing line-up of 11 global markets that can be found throughout the park!

The new dishes that can be found at the Cocina Criolla Marketplace, on the Festival’s Pathway, are:

• Churrasco- Skirt steak marinated in house-made chimichurri, then grilled over an open flame
• Lechón Asado- Traditional, roasted pork rubbed with Caribbean seasonings
• Pincho con Tostones- Skewered, flame-grilled chicken or pork with a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce and served with fried plantains
• Tripleta Sandwich- roast pork, chicken, steak and cheese, served with potato sticks and SeaWorld’s special sauce on a fresh baguette
• Empanadilla de Pizza- Pastry filled with mozzarella cheese and zesty tomato sauce
• Empanadilla de Carne- Pastry filled with savory ground beef
• Empanadilla de Pollo- Pastry filled with seasoned pulled chicken
• Bacalaítos- Thin, crispy salted codfish pancake.

I had the opportunity to try several of these dishes, and these are some of the best dishes I have had at SeaWorld!

If you love skewers, and who doesn’t really, definitely give the Pincho con Tostones a try! I suggest asking for the chicken and extra sauce on your fried plantains!

But if you are looking for what Chef Colon is best known for, order the Churrasco! I look forward to his chimichurri sauce every time I see it on the menu!

Seven Seas Food Festival Headline Entertainment:

To compliment the sizzling latin flavors, popular reggaeton, salsa, Latin pop and merengue concerts will take place each weekend at SeaWorld Orlando’s Bayside Stadium.

To complement the Saturday schedule, the event has added performances on Sundays May 7 and May 14, and all concerts begin at 3 p.m. and are included park admission.

I can’t believe it’s that time again…but it is time to start registering kids for Summer Camps and one of the most popular in the City Beautiful are hosted by SeaWorld Orlando!

The popular camps offer one-of-a-kind educational, exciting encounters that can’t be found in a traditional classroom. Each camp includes up-close experiences with marine animals designed to encourage a lifelong passion for wildlife and the environment. Registration is now open for 2017 sessions which run weekly June 5 through August 4.

Each week, campers are immersed in the wonders of the sea through exclusive behind-the-scenes opportunities and educational sessions along with the opportunity to experiences SeaWorld’s amazing attractions, rides and shows. The opportunities campers receive are unparalleled: first-hand experiences with veterinarians, animal trainers and animal care staff. During camp, attendees around surrounded by aquatic life as they make friends, have fun, explore and create lifelong memories.

SeaWorld Camps provide a learning environment that fosters exploration and self-discovery.  Campers from choose to take part in two types of camp experiences:

• Day Camps: During their week, participants learn about a variety of animals, including whales, dolphins, penguins and sea lions. Campers focus on a particular theme throughout the week.

Each day they learn about different species through songs, take-home arts and crafts, time with zoological staff, up-close animal encounters and more. Children going into preschool through 8^th grade can take part in SeaWorld’s Day Camp. Daily lunch, snacks, a camp T-shirt and water bottle are included.

• Resident Camps: Created especially for students interested in potential careers with animals, Resident Camps provide extensive experiences and hands on learning. Students going in to 7th-12^th grade learn  what it takes to train and work with marine animals.

Sessions include personal one-on-one time with a penguin and other animals, the chance to snorkel while submerged in a shark cage, opportunities to work with the animal care staff and the ability to help SeaWorld’s team create enriching environments for the animals.  Residents also get to experience a full day at Discovery Cove, swimming with dolphins, snorkeling with tropical fish and rays, and feeding exotic birds in a free-flight aviary. Resident Camp fee includes all camp activities, lodging onsite at SeaWorld and at a partner hotel for five nights, all meals and snacks. Supervision and guidance is provided 24 hours a day for the entire duration. Resident Camps are so popular, many campers fly in from around the country; these campers receive transportation to and from the Orlando International Airport by the dedicated camp staff to start their camp experience.

The Seven Seas Food Festival is a new event at SeaWorld Orlando that combines live entertainment with international coastal cuisine for 14 consecutive Saturdays from February 11 – May 13, 2017.

Kraken Virtual Reality (VR) Roller Coaster – Summer 2017

SeaWorld Orlando’s iconic Kraken roller coaster will have a new feel in 2017 as it will receive an upgrade to become the first digitally enhanced VR ride experience in Florida.  New technology is being developed to create an experience that will enthrall coaster enthusiasts and bring a new level of excitement to Kraken .

Dolphin Nursery – Summer 2017

SeaWorld Orlando’s Dolphin Nursery is one of our favorite stops in the park, so we are extremely excited that this area will get a makeover!

Guests will get an up close view on multiple levels to create a face-to-face perspective with dolphin calves, a new slide out areas and lifting floor will allow for easier access to mom and baby for the veterinary and animal care teams, and the next generation of multi-purpose digital displays will allow SeaWorld educators to share information about dolphin educational and animal care content.

Seven Seas Festival – Starting February 2017

SeaWorld Orlando already hosts some of the most  popular music and tastiest food events throughout the year, and in 2017 they will expand to a total of 14 weekends in 2017 as part of the Seven Seas Festival. The festival will feature food and craft brews throughout the park that is inspired by street foods from Asia, the Caribbean, South America, and the Mediterranean.

Flamecraft Bar – Summer 2017

Continuing the park’s food and beverage focus, a new dining location adjacent to the SeaFire Grill along the waterfront area will provide a great place to pause for a drink in a casual atmosphere. The Flamecraft Bar will feature 16 seasonal craft brews and a new menu.

Electric Ocean– Summer 2017

The evening will shine at SeaWorld Orlando this summer when a brand new, end-of-day spectacle event called Electric Ocean will debut. As the sun goes down, the lights and energy go up offering guests a different kind of fun after dark. The ocean comes to life with bioluminescent lighting, original music, and pathway entertainment immersing guests in a glowing sea of wonder.

Aquatica Pass Member Pavilion – Spring 2017

As part of SeaWorld’s ongoing commitment to their Annual Pass Members, the Aquatica Pass Member Pavilion will open just in time for spring break. Island Nights returns to Aquatica every Friday and Saturday evening through August 6

Discovery Cove Launching Sweet 16 Sweepstakes

Discovery Cove is celebrating their 16th Birthday in a really sweet way! The park has launched a national sweepstakes where one lucky winner and 15 friends will win a trip to Discovery Cove, including roundtrip airfare, two nights’ hotel accommodations, transportation and a VIP guest package.

SeaWorld Orlando is celebrating the 4th of July with four days of special events, concerts, and one of Orlando’s most magnificent fireworks displays during SeaWorld Orlando’s 4^th of July Weekend Celebration.

SeaWorld Orlando 4^th of July Weekend 

• Friday, July 1^st– Military Appreciation Morning – This Friday, SeaWorld Orlando will be opening the park gates one hour early for U.S. active duty military, veterans and up to three guests. Spin, glide, skim and fly on Manta or brave Orlando’s tallest, fastest and longest coaster, Mako during exclusive ride time before park opening. Viva la Música Brings Latin Beats & Flavors to Life at SeaWorld Orlando

First two Saturdays will feature Latin sensations Jerry Rivera and Víctor Manuelle

Viva la Música is sizzling back into action at SeaWorld Orlando with new flavors and some of the hottest Hispanic artists in the industry. This fiery, festive celebration runs Saturdays April 16 and 23, and May 7 and 14 and is included with park admission.

On Saturday, April 16, salsa and Latin music sensation, Jerry Rivera will take the stage.  Rivera has sold more than 11 million records and has topped the Billboard chart with gold and platinum songs.

Then on Saturday, April 23, Latin Grammy winner, Víctor Manuelle will dazzle guests as he performs hit songs like “No Quería Engañarte” from his multiplatinum albums.

Viva la Música activities begin at 12 p.m. each Saturday at the Bayside pathway, with concerts starting at 3 p.m. at Bayside Stadium.

Foodies and music lovers can enjoy this family-friendly annual festival with new authentic cuisine prepared by SeaWorld’s Executive Chef Hector Colon; live concerts by these internationally acclaimed Hispanic artists and bands; and unique merchandise from local artisans that reflect the true spirit of Latin culture.
