Orlando Predators Announce 2015 Season Schedule

Home games include the return to Amway Center on March 29 and a match-up against former owner Brett Bouchy’s LA KISS

The Orlando Predators today announced its schedule for the 2015 Arena Football League season.

The 18-game schedule features nine home games with eight Saturday evening games and one Sunday afternoon game.

The team kicks off its 24th season with its return to the Amway Center on Sunday, March 29, against the Philadelphia Soul. It is the team’s first game back at the Amway Center after playing last season in the CFE Arena at the University of Central Florida.

This season also marks the first full season under new owner, Westgate Resorts CEO David Siegel, who acquired the team in July.

“The Orlando Predators will finally be back home in Downtown Orlando at the Amway Center,” said Siegel. “This season, we’re going to deliver a product the Orlando community will be excited to support and will proudly represent our city and fans.”

“We’re excited to announce the dates for our first season under our new ownership,” said Orlando Predators President Jared Saft. “We can’t wait to welcome all of our new and returning fans back to start a new chapter in this franchise’s storied history.”

The “War on I-4” returns when the Predators host the Tampa Bay Storm on May 16 and for the regular season finale, August 8.

In Week 4, the Predators will host a match-up against the LA KISS, the expansion team launched last season by KISS band members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley and former Predators owner Brett Bouchy. Bouchy was an owner of the Predators for 15 years before leaving in 2013 to launch the LA KISS. The LA KISS was the subject of the AMC reality TV series 4th and Loud.

Tin Roof Coming to Orlando

Tin Roof Brings its “Live Music Joint” Concept to Orlando

Tin Roof selects I-Drive 360 for its first Florida location

I-Drive 360 is about to get a little louder, a little rowdier and a lot more fun with the arrival of Tin Roof, a “live music joint” where people can hang out, enjoy some great food and listen to live music almost every night of the week.

Headquartered in Nashville, the first Tin Roof opened in 2002 near Nashville’s famous Music Row. It quickly became a favorite for both performers and music fans. The parent company, Tin Roof Acquisitions, expanded the concept to other cities. Orlando will be the company’s 14th location.

“We think Orlando is a perfect fit for Tin Roof, for both tourists and locals,” said William Hodges, Tin Roof Regional Manager. “I-Drive 360 visitors can grab some food or listen to some great music before or after they visit some of the other new attractions there.”

The new Tin Roof – just steps from the Orlando Eye – is expected to open in December.

Tin Roof: The Music

Tin Roof puts a premium on booking top local and regional bands. Music fans will typically find bands playing from 10 pm – 2 am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with acoustic sets during the week. Types of music will range from rock to alternative to country.

“We’ll be bringing in all types of bands and singers, and even some national acts for special events,” said Hodges. “We also put a premium on being a place where local bands and musicians can find a home and showcase their talents.”

Tin Roof will not be a ticketed venue, but cover charges will apply at certain times.

httpv://youtu.be/v1EqriA73Q4

Tin Roof: The Menu

Tin Roof will be open for lunch and dinner – but the food goes way beyond the typical bar fare. Guests can choose from a variety of gourmet grub, including these favorites:

Hot Chicken Torta – this Mexican-style sandwich features buttermilk fried chicken, served with pickles and potato salad.

Big Farmer Dave’s Quesadilla – filled with sausage, zucchini, pecan-herb pesto and cheese.

Kentuckyaki Wings – wings like you’ve never had them; the sauce includes bourbon, soy, sorghum, garlic and ginger.

“We can’t wait to open our doors and give people a place to unwind after a day at work or hitting the theme parks,” said Hodges. “We’ll be the place to hear the best live music in town.”

Artegon Marketplace Orlando Opening Date Set

Artegon Marketplace Orlando

Artegon Marketplace Orlando on Pace for November 20 Opening

Artegon Marketplace Orlando is progressing on schedule toward its November 20 opening in the heart of Orlando’s tourism district on International Drive. Construction is complete on the major components of the 1.1 million-square-foot shopping attraction and artisan marketplace with paint, electrical and other finishing touches now underway.
Artegon Marketplace Orlando is a new shopping concept for the region inspired by such famous marketplaces as Seattle’s Pike Place, Boston’s Faneuil Hall, New York’s Chelsea Market and the London Flower Market. It is being developed in the former Festival Bay Mall by Paragon Outlet Partners, LLC. Considered one of the most influential and forward-thinking development firms in the nation’s retail real estate industry, Paragon is credited with redeveloping the former Belz Factory Outlet into the highly-successful Prime Outlets Orlando that eventually sold to Simon Properties. “It’s fantastic to see our vision coming to life,” said Steven Sless, executive vice president for Paragon Outlet Partners.

Unique to the center will be Florida’s largest daily indoor artisan marketplace. The Village at Artegon Marketplace Orlando houses 165 artisanal shops and stores where local purveyors will sell and demonstrate their products and services. They include Florida Soap Company, Poca’s Hottest, Vagabond Traveler, David Ramirez Chocolates and Kathryn McHenry of SOS Art Studio, along with a host of other one-of-a-kind artisans offering eco-friendly handbags and accessories, jewelry, sculpture, mixed media artwork, custom clothing and locally-sourced foods.

Sless expects the artisan marketplace to be fully leased by opening day. “We have experienced a marked increase in inquiries over the past month as interest and excitement builds among Central Florida’s top artisans and craftspeople,” Sless said. “With each passing day, we are seeing new and interesting concepts and handcrafted works arrive to our leasing office as entrepreneurs explore our exceptional business opportunity.”
Complementing The Village at Artegon Marketplace Orlando are some of the biggest brands in dining and retail. These anchor tenants include Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Cinemark Theaters, Sheplers Western Stores, Radbourne Center, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill and Berghoff’s Octoberfest. The latter two venues are scheduled to open between fall 2014 and spring 2015.

Rounding out the guest experience are more than 20 in-line retailers. Highlights include GODS & MONSTERS, the first high-end innovative comics and collectibles store of its kind in the country, and the nation’s first International Hot Glass, a glass gallery showcasing artists from around the world and a studio where guests can work with a professional glass blower to create their own piece of art.

“We’ve designed Artegon Marketplace Orlando to be a highly immersive and interactive experience unlike any other in Central Florida,” Sless explained.
Artegon Marketplace Orlando
Beyond the artisan marketplace, anchor tenants and in-line retailers, other defining features of Artegon Marketplace Orlando include:
    • The Great Hall with an expansive “Climb Adventure” ropes course (paid admission) and a variety of food offerings, from coffee and Danish to pizza, sandwiches and salads.
    • Daily food trucks.
    • Free Wi-Fi both indoors and in the outdoor plaza areas.
    • Caricaturists, henna and jawa tattoo painters, canvas airbrush artists and other edgy performers.
    • Streetmosphere performers, from jugglers to singers to stilt walkers, strolling throughout the shopping attraction on weekends.
    • An industrial-chic environment punctuated by heavy wooden support beams, exposed brick and weathered steel.
“Artegon Marketplace Orlando is poised to become a must-see attraction for residents, visitors and conventioneers alike, providing them with a new place to experience the sights, sounds and flavors unique to Central Florida,” Thearon Scurlock, director of marketing added. “Guests can discover authentic local culture and take home a hand-made treasure and lasting memento of their trip to Orlando.”
For group outings, Artegon Marketplace Orlando is an interactive and entertaining addition to the region’s diverse options for compelling community events, off-site convention outings, corporate parties and bus tours. Mears Transportation Group is the official transportation partner for convenient taxi service, and trolley service is available along I-RIDE Trolleys’ Red Line at stop #3.

The center provides ample, free surface parking with 5,800 spaces. Operating hours are 10am -9pm Monday-Saturday and 11am-7pm on Sunday. Artisan studios will be open Monday-Saturday 11am-8pm and noon-6pm on Sunday. Artegon Marketplace Orlando is located at 5250 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819. Local residents will especially appreciate easy access to the center via W. Oak Ridge Road, Sand Lake Road, and other alternatives to I-4.

Magical Dining Month

Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining Month

Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining Month celebrates Orlando’s diverse and amazing culinary scene.

Throughout September, select Orlando restaurants will be offering prix fixe dinners for just $33 to benefit The Foundation of Foster Children.

Proceeds from the event will help the Foundation for Foster Children to support the 1400 ethnically diverse foster children who reside in Central Florida’s tri-county area. With new opportunities, local foster youth discover hidden talents, boost their self-esteem, improve their grades, and begin to uncover their individual potential.

Magical Dining Month Foundation for Foster Children Logo

The Foundation for Foster Children is an important asset to Central Florida as it strengthens our community by providing direct support to foster children and foster families in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. Since 2008, the Foundation has provided funding and in-kind support for the unmet needs of foster youth through several programs, including supporting their immediate needs when they first enter foster care. With an emphasis on education, over half of all funding supports educational needs of foster children through in-home tutoring and other services. Through the Fostering Success grant program, “typical childhood experiences” are provided to our local foster children that otherwise would be unavailable, such as athletics, art, music, dance and other opportunities. Another important focus of the Foundation is on youth who are transitioning to adulthood, youth ages 17-23 who are provided with direct support and volunteer mentors.

There are so many great restaurants participating in Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining Month!

Artegon Marketplace Opening Date Announced

Artegon Marketplace

Artegon Marketplace Orlando

Opens November 20

International Drive’s Newest Shopping Attraction Features
Florida’s Largest Daily Indoor Artisan Marketplace and World-Class Anchors

Redevelopment of Former I-Drive Landmark to Create 675 New Jobs

Artegon Marketplace Orlando, a 1.1 million-square-foot shopping attraction and artisan marketplace, is scheduled to open on November 20 in the heart of Orlando’s tourism district on International Drive. Paragon Outlet Partners, LLC has redeveloped the former Festival Bay Mall into a new shopping concept for the region inspired by such famous marketplaces as Seattle’s Pike Place, Boston’s Faneuil Hall, New York’s Chelsea Market and the London Flower Market.

“We are making a significant investment to reinvigorate one of the most valuable parcels on I-Drive, delivering an asset to the community that will create jobs, support local artisans, craftspeople and entrepreneurs, and contribute to the local tax base,” said Steven Sless, executive vice president for Paragon Outlet Partners. Sless forecasts Artegon Marketplace will create more than 675 new jobs. At the peak of construction, more than 150 workers were employed.
Artegon Marketplace
Artegon Marketplace will house Florida’s largest daily indoor artisan marketplace with more than 160 studio spaces featuring unique art, one-of-a-kind boutiques, handcrafted items and diverse food offerings from some of Central Florida’s finest craftspeople. “We have curated a collection of many of the area’s top artisans, carefully selected for the quality and uniqueness of their works. Food and drink purveyors offer fresh, farm-direct fare of the highest quality,” said Sless.

Complementing the artisan marketplace, Artegon Marketplace is anchored by some of the biggest brands in dining and retail, including Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Cinemark Theaters, Sheplers Western Stores, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill, and Berghoff’s Octoberfest. The latter two venues are scheduled to open between fall 2014 and spring 2015.

Paragon Outlet Partners, LLC is considered one of the most influential and forward-thinking development firms in the nation’s retail real estate industry. Locally, it is also credited with re-energizing the former Belz Factory Outlet into the highly-successful Prime Outlets Orlando that eventually sold to Simon Properties.

“Artegon Marketplace is poised to become a must-see attraction for residents, visitors and conventioneers alike, providing them with a new place to experience the sights, sounds, and flavors unique to Central Florida,” Sless continues. “Guests can discover authentic local culture and take home a hand-made treasure and lasting memento of their trip to Orlando.”
Artegon Marketplace’s industrial-chic environment, punctuated by heavy wooden support beams, exposed brick and weathered steel accents, is designed to transport shoppers into an immersive experience unlike any other in Central Florida.  More than 160 local purveyors of handcrafted items and specialty retailers will be selling and demonstrating a kaleidoscope of products and services including eco-friendly handbags and accessories, soaps, jewelry, sculpture, mixed media artwork, custom clothing and much, much more. Hand-crafted foods – ranging from 70 different types of popcorn to hot sauces, nuts and local honey – offer a smorgasbord for eating and gift-giving.

The Artegon Marketplace experience is also highly interactive with caricaturists, henna and jawa tattoo painters, canvas airbrush artists, and other edgy performers.  Visitors can watch glassblowing in a studio. Artegon’s center court will feature an expansive rope climbing attraction. Streetmosphere performers, from jugglers to singers to stilt walkers, will stroll throughout. More than 20 in-line retailers, including Subway, will round out the guest experience.

For group outings, Artegon Marketplace is an interactive and entertaining addition to the region’s inventory of options for compelling community events, off-site convention outings, corporate parties and bus tours.

The center provides ample, free surface parking with 5,800 spaces. Operating hours are 10am-9pm MondaySaturday and 11am-7pm on Sunday. Artisan studios will be open MondaySaturday 11am-8pm and noon-6pm on Sunday. Artegon Marketplace Orlando is located at 5250 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819.
