Disneynature Born In China Opens April 21st

Born in China, the seventh theatrical release for Disneynature, is set to open on April 21st, and you won’t want your chance to get a glimpse at China’s vast terrain from the frigid mountains to the heart of the bamboo forest.

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Born in China poster

Narrated by John Krasinski, the Disneynature new True Life Adventure film Born In China follows the stories of three animal families to some of the world’s most extreme environments to witness wildly intimate moments in the lives of these animals, whose day-to-day endeavors are both captivating and comical.

And a mother snow leopard—an elusive animal rarely seen by human eyes—faces the very real drama of raising her two cubs in one of the harshest and most unforgiving environments on Earth.

“The film explores the circle of life in a very emotional and uplifting way,” says producer Roy Conli. “Each story depicts a reality of life that is reflective of our own human experience. It’s compelling to see how animals share certain values that we hold dear.”

Born in China is directed by accomplished Chinese filmmaker Lu Chuan, and produced by Disney’s Roy Conli and renowned nature filmmakers Brian Leith and Phil Chapman. The fi lm features an orchestral score composed by Emmy-winner Barnaby Taylor that incorporates authentic Chinese flavors. New York-based band American Authors penned and performed the end-credit song “Everything Everything.”

As a bonus moviegoers who see Disneynature’s new True Life Adventure Born in China during its opening week (April 21-27, 2017) will benefit the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Based on opening-week attendance, Disneynature, via the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund, will make a contribution to the WWF to help protect wild pandas and snow leopards.

D23 Expo 2017 News: Nine New Disney Legends #D23Expo

For the past 30 years Disney Legends awards have recognized the remarkable contributions that individuals have made to the Disney Legacy, and this year’s ceremony hosted by Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger at 10 am on Friday, July 14, in Hall D23 of the Anaheim Convention Center during the D23 Expo 2017 is shaping up to be extraordinary!

“The Disney Legends Award is the highest honor our company can bestow on an individual, reserved for those few who have truly made an indelible mark on the history of The Walt Disney Company,” said Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger. “It’s a celebration of talent, a recognition of achievement, and an expression of gratitude to the men and women whose work has significantly contributed to Disney’s enduring reputation for creative excellence.”

D23 Expo 2017 Disney Legends 30th Anniversary Logo

The 2017 Disney Legends Award honorees (listed alphabetically) are:

CARRIE FISHER became an overnight sensation in 1977 with her iconic performance as Princess Leia in Star Wars. But throughout her career, Carrie took on many roles—as an actress, author, playwright, screenwriter, and outspoken advocate for mental health awareness. For Disney, Carrie appeared in Scream 3 (2000) and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001) for Dimension Films, and, in 2015, she returned to the role that made her famous, starring as General Leia Organa in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. She reprised the role for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which will be released in December.

CLYDE “GERRY” GERONIMI joined the Disney Studio in 1931. His first assignments as an animator were for several memorable Mickey Mouse, Silly Symphony, and Pluto cartoons, and he eventually contributed to more than 50 of the Studio’s shorts. Gerry made the leap to sequence director with 1943’s Victory Through Air Power, and he subsequently contributed to The Three Caballeros, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Cinderella, Peter Pan, and One Hundred and One Dalmatians. He also directed segments for television’s Mickey Mouse Club and contributed to episodes of Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color. The apex of his Disney career came when he served as supervising director for the 1959 masterpiece Sleeping Beauty.

MANUEL GONZALES was one of 33 artists selected from thousands of applicants to join Disney in 1936. In 1938, he took over penciling duties on the Sunday Mickey Mouse comic strip from Disney Legend Floyd Gottfredson. He brought Mickey Mouse to newspapers nationwide for nearly 40 years. At its peak, his Mickey-starring comic strip appeared in 120 newspapers around the world with a collective circulation of more than 20 million readers each week. Manuel was presented a “Mousecar” award by Walt Disney in 1966.

MARK HAMILL began his career in 1970, appearing in numerous television series guest-roles and several TV movies, including a recurring role on ABC’s General Hospital and starring in MTM's acclaimed The Texas Wheelers. He achieved worldwide attention as Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy, which included The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He returned as Luke in The Force Awakens and will appear in the upcoming The Last Jedi. His stage career includes Broadway shows and the first national tour of Amadeus directed by Sir Peter Hall. A prolific voice-over actor, he has performed in countless animated television shows, feature films, documentaries, and video games. He appears on Disney’s Miles from Tomorrowland and Milo Murphy’s Law, and has also provided the voice of The Joker in the Batman animated series, a role that recently earned him a BAFTA Award.

WAYNE JACKSON began his career as a Walt Disney Imagineer in October 1965, and in the decades that followed he would put his technical skills and know-how to great use in the development and installation of Disney attractions around the world. Originally trained in aircraft tooling, he began as a technician and machinist assigned to rebuild the shows from the 1964–65 New York World’s Fair that were slated for installation at Disneyland. Instrumental in the early development of Audio-Animatronics technology, Wayne would go on to help bring Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion to Disneyland. He went on to work on the construction and installation of attractions and show systems at Walt Disney World Resort, Tokyo Disney Resort, and Disneyland Paris.

STAN LEE got a job as an office assistant at a comic publisher in 1939 called Timely Comics—forerunner of the powerhouse we all know as Marvel. Stan made his debut with a Captain America story in 1941, and by the next year, at the age of just 18, he was promoted to editor. In 1961, Stan teamed up with Jack “King” Kirby to create the Fantastic Four and ushered in a spectacular new age of comics. Stan co-created an enormous roster of Marvel characters, including Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, the X-Men, Daredevil, and Falcon. He became Marvel’s editorial director and publisher in 1972, and eventually was named chairman emeritus. His well- known cameos in Marvel films began with 1989’s telefilm The Trial of the Incredible Hulk, and since the release of X-Men in 2000 he has appeared in nearly every Marvel film project. Outside the super-hero realm, he has even popped up as a wedding guest in Disney’s The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.

GARRY MARSHALL began his career in Los Angeles writing for a number of hit shows, including The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Lucy Show. But his big break came in 1970, when he produced The Odd Couple for ABC, the first of many big hits he created for the network. Beginning with Happy Days in 1974, he developed a shared universe of spinoffs including Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, and Joanie Loves Chachi. His other ABC sitcoms during these years included Angie, The New Odd Couple, and Blansky’s Beauties. Garry was also a successful movie director, with 18 films to his credit. At Disney, he made stars of two young actresses: Julia Roberts, in Pretty Woman, and Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaries. He directed Bette Midler in Beaches, as well as in The Lottery, a short film that for years was a fixture of the Backstage Tour at the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park. Garry was known for his acting, as well, and he appeared in Disney’s Race to Witch Mountain, Chicken Little, and as the Devil in Hocus Pocus.

JULIE TAYMOR is a Tony, Emmy, and Grammy winning and Oscar nominated filmmaker who has changed the face of Broadway with her innovative direction. Her adaptation of The Lion King debuted in 1997, becoming the most successful stage musical of all time; 24 global productions have been seen by more than 90 million people. The show has played in more than 100 cities in 19 countries. It received 11 Tony Award nominations, earning Julie Best Director, Costume Designer, and Best Musical for the show. Her production of The Magic Flute is currently in repertory at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. Her films include A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Titus, The Tempest, the Golden Globe-nominated Across the Universe, and the Oscar-winning Frida. Taymor is a recipient of the MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship and an inductee into the Theater Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement. She is currently directing M. Butterfly on Broadway, opening Fall 2017.

OPRAH WINFREY is a renowned award-winning producer, actress, talk show host, and philanthropist. For 25 years she was the host of the award-winning talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show, which ran for 25 seasons on hundreds of stations domestically and in more than 100 countries around the world. Oprah is also an Academy Award nominated actress for her role in Steven Spielberg’s 1985 hit The Color Purple. In 1998, she starred in Beloved for Disney’s Touchstone Pictures, a film that she also produced. Oprah also produced and starred in ABC’s 1989 limited series The Women of Brewster Place, and would go on to produce many films for ABC, including Tuesdays with Morrie, Before Women Had Wings, and Their Eyes Were Watching God under the “Oprah Winfrey Presents” banner. She performed as Eudora in Disney’s The Princess and the Frog in 2009 and will co-star as Mrs. Which in Disney’s 2018 film A Wrinkle in Time.

Disney Legend Honorees receive a two-foot- tall bronze Disney Legends sculpture that signifies the imagination, creativity, and magic they have brought to the Company. Disney Legends Award recipients will also participate in a handprint ceremony at the end of the event, and their bronzed prints will be displayed in the Disney Legends Plaza at the Company’s Burbank headquarters.

Admission to the Disney Legends ceremony will be on a first-come, first-served basis and is included in the price of a ticket to D23 Expo 2017.

Creating On the Go: Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Looking to make your Valentines Day (or even Galentine’s Day) special? Chocolate  covered strawberries are easy to make and are absolutely delicious.

Creating On the Go: Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Supplies:

Strawberries- Bigger strawberries tend to work better

Chocolate- any kind; milk, dark, or white (I used Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers and white chocolate)

Cookie sheet

Parchment paper

Spoon

Chocolate warmer- or anything you can use to melt the chocolate in.

Instructions:

1. Place parchment paper on your cookie sheet.

2. Wash strawberries and dry them with a food safe paper towel. Line them up on your cookie sheet. Don’t skip the drying process because your chocolate will slide right off your strawberry if it is still wet and you will also mess with the consistency of the chocolate.

Creating on the Go Chocolate Covered Strawberries

3. Melt your chocolate per the instructions on the package. Since I have a chocolate warmer I used the ceramic dish to microwave the chocolate first and then set it back into the warmer to keep the consistency.

Creating on the Go Chocolate Covered Strawberries

4. Grab a strawberry by the leaves and dip it fully into the chocolate, shaking off any excess chocolate to avoid a puddle of chocolate on the cookie sheet.

Creating on the Go Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Then lay it on the sheet to dry. Continue till all strawberries are covered.

Creating on the Go Chocolate Covered Strawberries

5. Time to drizzle! You can drizzle your strawberries in whatever chocolate you want. I decided to do half in the dark chocolate and the other half in white chocolate. Take your spoon and grab some chocolate with it.

The trick to this, I have found, is to keep the spoon straight up, no angles, as you drizzle the chocolate over the strawberry.

Creating on the Go Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Return to cookie sheet to dry.

Creating on the Go Chocolate Covered Strawberries

You can also sprinkle red or pink sugar over the drizzle for some added color. This works best with the white chocolate.

6. Refrigerate till you’re ready to enjoy!

Helpful hint: Do these the day of or the night before so they are as fresh as possible.

Happy Valentines Day!

A restored print of Poor Papa(1927), the first Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoon, will be included when the Walt Disney Signature Collection Presents Disney Pinocchio is available on Blu-ray and DVD on January 31st.

This amazing restoration is sourced from digital scans of a 16mm silent print that was made in 1930 for home use and discovered in the UK. This is one of only three known surviving prints on this title.

Max Lark on D23.com shared a little bit of the history behind the short.

In 1927, while Walt was wrapping up the “Alice Comedies,” his distributor, Charles Mintz, brokered a deal with Universal for Walt to create a cartoon character. That new character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, would go on to star in 26 cartoons from the Disney studio. The series proved popular, and the character was the first to generate Disney merchandise—a candy bar, a stencil set, and a pin-back button!

Poor Papa was the first Oswald cartoon produced, but Mintz felt that Oswald looked “old” so the short was not released. The next Oswald short Walt and Ub produced, Trolley Troubles on September 5, 1927, debuted a redesigned younger version of Oswald. Given this second short’s positive critical reaction by the public, Universal and Mintz ultimately released Poor Papa on June 11, 1928. In this rather charming story, a bunch of storks bombard Oswald with bunnies until our hero figures out a way to thwart them.

All-New Original Song announced for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Soundtrack

Five-time Grammy winning and best-selling recording artist Celine Dion will perform an all-new original song, “How Does A Moment Last Forever,” for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast that is included on the film’s soundtrack.

Written by eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin”) and veteran lyricist and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice (“The Lion King,” “Evita”), “How Does A Moment Last Forever” is an emotional ballad about holding onto life’s precious moments. Portions of the song are performed throughout the film and interpolated into the underscore before Dion’s full-length version debuts in the film’s custom main-on-end title design.

Says Dion, “Being a part of the original ‘Beauty and the Beast’ was such a magical experience in my life, and I’m truly honored to be a part of this film again.”

When preparations begin for the end-of-summer magic contest between rival teams of campers, Andy and his team of ragtag misfits must go head to head with Darkwood and her campers. Cars 3 Extended Look

Walt Disney Studios News Roundup 1 17 17 - Cars 3

Cars 3 is an all-new story that tests the heart of a champion in a high-tech world, and we have learned about two new characters and a new extended look at the movie was released!

It was announced that Cristela Alonzo, as unconventional trainer Cruz Ramirez, and Armie Hammer, as next-gen racer Jackson Storm, will be joining Owen Wilson in the cast of Cars 3.

Walt Disney Studios News Roundup 1 17 17 - Cars 3 Cruz Ramirez
Disney | Pixar

Cruz Ramirez is a sunny-but-fierce unconventional trainer at the Rust-eze Racing Center. She expertly arms the team’s talented rookies with cutting-edge tools to tear up the track—but she nearly stalls when her longtime idol Lightning McQueen shows up. While she’d love to help him find his way back to the top, she knows the competition is faster than ever, and victory is all about speed—or is it?

Walt Disney Studios News Roundup 1 17 17 - Cars 3 Jackson Storm
Disney | Pixar

Jackson Storm is fast, sleek and ready to race. A frontrunner in the next generation of racers, Storm’s quiet confidence and cocky demeanor are off-putting—but his unmatched speed threatens to redefine the sport. Trained on high-tech simulators that are programmed to perfect technique and maximize velocity, Jackson Storm is literally built to be unbeatable—and he knows it.

Walt Disney Studios News Roundup 1 17 17 - Cars 3 Lightning McQueen
Disney | Pixar

Lightning McQueen is world champion—a modern-day racing legend who’s riding high with five Piston-Cup wins under his hood. Suddenly, he finds himself faced with a new generation of racers who threaten not only his dominance in the sport—but the confidence that got him there. Determined to get back to the pole position, the #95 must decide if his love for racing is enough to fuel the comeback of his life.

And finally in Cars 3 news, I wanted to share the new extended look!

New in 2017: Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate

The 2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate has me giddy to say the least with familiar and favorite stories being re-told and continued, a chance to journey into nature, and to go on a colorful adventure.

I can’t wait any longer…let’s go!

Walt Disney Studios

New in 2017: Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate

March 17, 2017 Beauty and the Beast (Walt Disney Studios)

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Beauty and the Beast poster

Every time I see the Beauty and the Beast trailer I have to catch my breath a little, because Belle is one of my top Disney Princesses and I cannot wait to watch Emma Watson as Belle live out the dream of dancing with Beast in the ballroom or to see/hate Luke Evans as Gaston.

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs.

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Belle and Beast Dancing

“Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.

Seriously…is it May yet???

April 21, 2017 – Born In China (Disneynature)

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Born in China poster

Watching Born in China will be the perfect way to celebrate Earth Day this year! With stunning footage of never-before-seen imagery of China’s vast terrain, the movie’s adventure takes us through and above the frigid mountains to the heart of the bamboo forest while telling a compelling story.

Disneynature’s new True Life Adventure film “Born In China” takes an epic journey into the wilds of China where few people have ever ventured.

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Born in China still panda on tree
Walt Disney Studios

Following the stories of three animal families, the film transports audiences to some of the most extreme environments on Earth to witness some of the most intimate moments ever captured in a nature film. A doting panda bear mother guides her growing baby as she begins to explore and seek independence. A two-year-old golden monkey who feels displaced by his new baby sister joins up with a group of free-spirited outcasts. And a mother snow leopard—an elusive animal rarely caught on camera—faces the very real drama of raising her two cubs in one of the harshest and most unforgiving environments on the planet.

It’s been awesome to be able to share the next generation of ‘True Life Adventure’ films that I loved so much with my daughter, and Born in China looks to be an fantastic addition to the Disneynature films.

May 5, 2017 – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (Marvel Studios)

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 poster

The first Marvel Studios release in the 2017 Motion Picture Slate is going to set the bar pretty high for the summer, because I don’t know too many people who aren’t hyped for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2!

httpv://youtu.be/dW1BIid8Osg

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos.

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 Baby Groot
Walt Disney Studios

The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand.

I. Cannot. Wait. From the moment I saw the first teaser photo, I flipped! Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 seems to be a continuation of the adventures with a perfect combination of action, witty dialogue, & amazing music…and this time we get more Baby Groot!

May 26, 2017 – PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES (Walt Disney Studios)

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tale

Fans of the Disney Parks can’t help but get excited to hear more familiar words that echo in the caverns of the attraction on the big screen! Dead Men Tell No Tales is a continuation of a story and ride that I have enjoyed most of my life!

httpv://youtu.be/1xo3af_6_Jk

Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Pirates of the Caribbean Jack Sparrow Wanted Poster
Walt Disney Studios

The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.

What could be wrong about having more Captain Jack Sparrow in 2017???

June 16, 2017 – CARS 3 (Disney / Pixar)

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Cars 2 Movie Poster

The intensity of the Cars 3 teaser trailer made me realize how emotionally invested I was in Lightning McQueen…A sentence I never thought I would type.

httpv://youtu.be/E4K7JgPJ8-s

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves.

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Cars 3 Lightning McQueen racing
Walt Disney Studios

To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez (voice of Cristela Alonzo), with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!

When Zoe was younger we watched Cars on repeat and then when Cars 2 was released I watched as she enjoyed racing with her friends again, and now I can’t wait to experience Cars 3 with my favorite passenger!

November 3, 2017 – Thor: Ragnarok (Marvel Studios)

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Thor Ragnarok Marvel

While Tony Stark is my main man, I can’t help but wait to see one of my other favorite Avengers back on the big screen.

In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk!

Thor? Gladiatorial contest? The Incredible Hulk? Evil villain? I’m all in!

November 22, 2017 – COCO (Disney / Pixar)

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Coco title image

At the 2015 D23 Expo in Anaheim, I was lucky (lucky = waited in the basement of the convention center for hours with great friends, even better conversation, and mediocre snacks) to snag a seat at the Walt Disney Studios presentation to hear about Coco.

Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt).

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Coco movie still

Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.

I have always been intrigued by the Día de los Muertos celebrations, so you can only imagine what my excitement level is on a scale from 1 to 10…it’s an 11!

December 15, 2017 –  STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII (Lucasfilm)

2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate - Star Wars Episode VIII Title

2017 is going to end in a galaxy far, far away when Star Wars: Episode VIII hits the screen.

Now while we don’t know much about what adventures we will go on, we do know that this journey will push the boundaries of the saga even further.

Is there really a better way to end an amazing year of films?

If you aren’t pumped for the 2017 Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Slate, then I don’t know if we can be friends! This is the stuff that movie dreams are made of, and I can’t wait to share more information and even some fun activities about them this year.

Family Traditions: Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies

Family Traditions Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies

Over the past few years I have become somewhat obsessed with not letting food go to waste, and as I was staring at the three lone ripe bananas sitting in the fruit basket my mind started spinning!

I checked the staples that I had in my pantry, pulled the bananas out of their basket, and headed to Pinterest!

Once there I found a really awesome recipe from Lux Hippie on Tumblr for Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies!

The recipe is SUPER easy, and amazingly delicious! What is also great is that with a few slight changes, they can also be Vegan making them a perfect treat for get togethers!

Seriously, this recipe should come with a warning because you won’t be able to stop eating them!!!

Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies Ingredients:

Family Traditions Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1/2-1 cup natural chunky peanut butter (depending on how much peanut buttery goodness you want)
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (note: if you are using salted peanut butter, you may not need any salt, do a taste test with the batter)
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (I used milk chocolate chips, but you could even use raisins if that’s your thing)

Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

In a large bowl, mix bananas, vanilla, peanut butter and maple syrup into a creamy consistency (best to do with a hand or stand mixer).

Family Traditions Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies

In another bowl, combine oats, flour, baking powder and salt together.

Family Traditions Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies
Dry Ingredients

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until they are well combined, the batter should be slightly sticky. Fold in the chocolate chips. The batter will be somewhat runny, this is ok.

Family Traditions Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies
Adding in the dry ingredients to the mixer

I wanted to share a pictures of the consistency of the Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookie dough, because it is very different than ‘normal’ cookie dough. Don’t worry…I promise!

Family Traditions Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies

Place heaping tablespoon-sized balls of the batter (I used a medium sized cookie disher) onto a ‘greased’ baking sheet (can also place on parchment paper) and cook for 15 minutes.

Family Traditions Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies

This recipe makes around 2 dozen cookies, and after they have cooled make sure to store them in a tupperware container to make them last up to a week (If they make it that long without being eaten).

These were great cookies to grab in the morning on the way out of the door and perfect for Zoe’s snack at school since they can have peanut items in their classroom.

I am absolutely obsessed with these Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies, and I hope you give them a try!!!
