Brick or Treat Adds Even More Halloween Fun at LEGOLAND Florida Resort in 2015

Kid-Friendly Festivities to Include All-New Fireworks, Additional Dates, New Meet-and-Greets and a Stunning New LEGO Photo Op

This October, kids will discover even more Halloween fun at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort during Brick or Treat, the popular, kid-friendly celebration included with theme park admission on select dates. Adding to the excitement this year are two event dates on select Fridays, an exclusive fireworks show, meet-and-greet opportunities with new LEGO Halloween characters and photo opportunities with an all-new, larger-than-life LEGO model created exclusively for Brick or Treat.

LEGOLAND Florida kicks off the year with a full line-up of action-packed fun for 2015 with special events specifically geared towards families with children ages 2 to 12. Guests will want to return again and again to enjoy a full year of LEGOLAND Florida’s special events and more than 50 rides, shows and attractions.

The best part, is that all events (*except Brick Dash) are included with regular Park admission.

Feb. 21 & 22: LEGO® Club Weekends Featuring LEGO Star Wars Miniland brings the Force to its guests in 2015! LEGO® Club Weekend featuring LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland are going to be out-of-this-world with fun activities! Join other Star Wars fans for character meet and greet opportunities with LEGO Darth Vader, Star Wars building activities, costume contests and giveaways, plus take an interactive guided LEGO Star Wars™ Miniland Tour.

March 28:  LEGOLAND Water Park, a park within a park, re-opens with a splash and just in time for summer-time fun. Guests of all ages can spend a full day of play in the water park with the Build-A-Raft River, where guests can build their own LEGO inner tubes and float down a 1,000-foot lazy river or splash and play in the DUPLO® Splash Safari, the Joker Soaker water playground, a 583,000-gallon wave pool and five slippery-fast water slides. April 11:  Brick Dash 5k Run and Fun Walk* benefitting Winter Haven Hospital Foundation’s Fund for Women and Children.  This community-wide health event is designed for runners and walkers of all ages. July 3, 4 & 5: Red, Brick & Boom allows guests to celebrate the 4th of July with a bang at this third annual Independence Day event.  With a brick flag build and special viewing glasses that turn ordinary fireworks into millions of exploding bricks, this July 4th celebration is sure to dazzle and delight with three nights of family fun and fireworks.

Select dates in Oct.: Brick-or-Treat offers safe and family-friendly Halloween festivities in October. This spooky, kooky event features trick-or-treating along the Brick-or-Treat Trail, LEGO build activities, the largest LEGO jack-o-lantern in the world, a haunted scavenger hunt in Miniland U.S.A., Halloween-themed entertainment and an all-kids costume contest with “bricktastic” prizes!

Select dates in Dec.: Christmas Bricktacular brings in the holiday season with a 30-foot tall LEGO Christmas tree made of 270,000 LEGO bricks, life-size LEGO Santa, reindeer and sleigh, festive decorations, LEGO build activity, a LEGO Santa Scavenger Hunt and holiday entertainment. LEGO Santa and LEGO Toy Soldier make daily appearances in the Park providing a perfect family photo opportunity.

Select dates in Dec.: Nightly Fireworks over Lake Eloise. Watch the spectacular fireworks explode into millions of tiny LEGO bricks with special viewing glasses.

Christmas spirit was glowing in the faces of children Saturday night as LEGOLAND Florida Resort hosted 40 Make-A-Wish families to kick off Christmas Bricktacular presented by Shutterfly®, with a Tree Lighting Ceremony in a colorful celebration full of music, lights and snow!

Merlin’s Magic Wand provided tickets for nearly 200 Make-A-Wish guests to enjoy the theme park and be special VIP guests at the ceremony.  LEGO® Santa and the stars of “The LEGO® Movie,” Emmet and Wyldstyle, brought up four children from Make-A-Wish Foundation to share the stage and help light the more than 30-foot tall LEGO Christmas tree made up of 270,000 LEGO and DUPLO® bricks.  The children included Riley Mazur, Elizabeth Pranger, Joshua Chambers, and Emsley Long.

“As a theme park that is truly built for kids, we are honored to host these great kids and create wonderful holiday memories for them and their families. LEGOLAND Florida Resort’s parent company, Merlin Entertainments, created Merlin’s Magic Wand to put the magic back into the childhoods of seriously ill, disabled and disadvantaged children.  Teaming up with Make-A-Wish for this special event, the two charitable organizations aim to give this wonderful group of children a day to escape and enter a world where they can take control.

LEGOLAND Florida is hosting its third-annual Brick-or-Treat celebration, running each weekend in October. Activities include:

  • LEGO Ghost Build – Kids can help build an 8’ tall super brick ghost model
  • LEGO Scary Scavenger Hunt in Miniland- Families can venture through Miniland searching for Ghost models to unscramble the secret word. All participants can enter for a chance to win LEGO prizes and tickets to LEGOLAND Florida!

  • Brick-or-Treat Trail- New this year, limited quantities of a special commemorative LEGO brick will be distributed on the Brick-or-Treat Trail! This kid-sized cul-de-sac trail features several LEGO-themed treat stations and offers a safe, fun and entertaining trick-or-treating experience.

Move it Movement Coming to

LEGOLAND Florida This Weekend 

LEGOLAND  Florida plays host for a second consecutive year to Cartoon Network’s MOVE IT MOVEMENT Tour on August 9 & 10. The summertime traveling event targets youth 6-14 and their parents, presented in partnership with the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition and in support of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Initiative.

LEGOLAND Florida is hosting Cartoon Network’s MOVE IT MOVEMENT final tour stop.

Move It Movement Activities will include:

  • NBA/WNBA FIT & NBA Hoop Troop — kids can demonstrate their fitness level by testing their basketball skills and shoot against the clock for prizes;
  • The PGA of America Driving Range — updated to reflect the new PGA Sports Academy and its goal of developing young social and competitive golfers, kids are invited to drive the ball for accuracy and distance with The PGA driving range. Top scores are posted on the PGA Sports Academy leaderboard;
  • NFL PLAY 60 — kids can practice a variety of football-themed activities, including running patterns and passing skills;
  • Subway® Fresh Fit for Kids™ Football Sled Challenge – At the challenge, kids can learn the importance of piling the veggies on their favorite Subway sandwich, as they push a custom Subway football sled across the finish line.
  • Let’s Move!/PALA+ booth — a station set aside specifically for registration materials, nutrition tips and further information promoting participation with Let’s Move! and the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award.

    The first 500 guests each day will also have the opportunity to win a pair MOVE IT MOVEMENT sunglasses after completing their ‘passport’ to each of the MOVE IT MOVEMENT stations around the park.
