Disney on Broadway Concert Series 2020 Details

Disclosure: I was an invited guest of Walt Disney World to experience an Epcot International Festival of the Arts preview. All opinions and over-use of exclamation marks are all my own.

The highlight of the Epcot International Festival of the Arts is hands dow the Disney on Broadway Concert Series that brings different pairs of stars to perform some of the songs they helped make famous and beyond.

Performances are included with your theme park admission, and take place on the American Gardens Theatre stage at 5:30 PM, 6:45 PM and 8:00 PM daily from January 17 to February 24, 2020.

While the concerts are amazing, on select nights there are special performances featuring twice the star power!

During the media preview for the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, we were treated to one of these amazing concerts with Kissy Simmons, Alton Fitzgerald White, Heidi Blickenstaff, and Gavin Lee. I STILL have goosebumps!!!

Disney on Broadway Concert Series Dining Package

While the concert series is included in your theme park admission, seating is not guaranteed and often requires arriving at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the concert.

However you can choose to purchase a Disney on Broadway Concert Series Dining Package where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with guaranteed seating at one concert on the day of your dining.

The Dining Package price includes a 3-course meal experience that includes an appetizer, entrée, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage or one full buffet, where applicable at select World Showcase restaurants.

Epcot Festival of the Arts 2020 Guide

The annual Epcot International Festival of the Arts at the Walt Disney World Resort will fill the park with a celebration of visual, culinary, and performing arts from around the world beginning January 17 through February 24, 2020.

The 39 day event features visiting artists, culinary delights, and opportunities for guests to embrace their own inner artists.

Disney on Broadway Concert Series

The Disney on Broadway Concert Series is the highlight of the Epcot International Festival of the Arts as Broadway stars reprise favorite songs from past performances in award-winning shows three times a day on the American Gardens Theatre stage.

The shows are included with your admission to Epcot, and here is the announced performance schedule:

Food Studios

During this year’s festival guests can enjoy twelve festival Food Studios plus additional food and beverage locations throughout the park that will be offering a variety of delicious, imaginative, and artistically sculpted dishes.

Festival Entertainment

Unique entertainment options celebrate the visual arts daily as artists paint favorite Disney characters in minutes, living statues inspired by Epcot interact with guests, high school bands perform, and performers complete thrilling acts of strength that defy gravity and imagination on sidewalks and common spaces of the park.

Family Festival Fun

Epcot International Festival of the Arts 2019 - Photo Ops

This year’s Epcot International Festival of the Arts has fun for the entire family with the new Green Landing Family Play Zone where Wall-E and Eve invite the entire family to enjoy a lush environment built for exploring, Figment’s Brush with the Masters scavenger hunt leads them throughout World Showcase to find where the friendly dragon has painted himself into famous pieces of art, and the chance to step into several photo-ops throughout Epcot including the Peter Pan Storybook installation by the United Kingdom pavilion.

Premium Festival Experiences

In addition to the experiences included with admission to the park, festival goers can enhance their day with several premium festival experiences. This year Le Cellier in the Canada Pavilion will be hosting a prix fixe brunch each Saturday and Sunday, guests can Paint with a Disney Artist, take the guided World Showcase: Destinations Discovered tour, and even enroll in a series of workshops to unleash their inner artist.

Inside Look at SeaWorld Orlando – January 2020

In 2020 SeaWorld Orlando is continuing their 52 weekends of celebrations included with theme park admission, and this weekend the January Inside Look event, running on Friday’s, Saturday’s, and Sunday’s through January 26, will begin.

During SeaWorld Orlando’s January Inside Look event, families will dive deeper into the world of dolphin, sea lions, manatees, and more.

This behind-the-scenes event gives guests the chance to meet and interact with SeaWorld’s renowned veterinarians and animal experts as they give an intimate look at the day-to-day care they provide these amazing animals including exclusive access to areas of the park never before visited by guests.

Otronicon coming to the Orlando Science Center

Otronicon is celebrating their 15th year of celebrating art, science and technology at the Orlando Science Center January 17 through 20!

Otronicon connects guests of all ages with larger-than-life experiences to explore how science and technology impact society with four floors of simulators, robots, artwork, virtual reality, video games, competitions, workshops, audiovisual presentations and so much more.

The event focuses on Central Florida’s growing tech industry while connecting attendees with professionals who are driving Orlando’s digital future with partners including Lockheed Martin, AdventHealth, Disney, UCF, FIEA, Full Sail, Microsoft and the Orange County Public Library Melrose Center.

New to this year’s Otronicon are selfie stations, Pokemon labs, a musical Tesla Coil show, drone cages and a “Star Wars”-themed coding workshop hosted by Disney.

Also, attendees will want to hear keynote speaker Kate Edwards from International Game Designers Association as she coaches fledgling game designers about creating more vivid and inclusive worlds in their games.

Exhibitors

Almost 60 exhibitors will be in attendance at Otronicon sharing the latest technology from the education, military and gaming fields with hands-on experiences and demonstrations for attendees of all ages to enjoy.

Workshops

During Otronicon guests of various ages and skill levels can register for 60- to 90-minute hands-on workshops about a variety of topics such as game design, coding, programming, robotics and more during the event.

Real Music Real Masters Concert Series 2020

Real Music Real Masters, the longest running concert series at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, brings unique acts to the Stanleyville Theater from Tuesdays through Sunday from January 7 to March 15.

The Real Music Real Masters concerts include performances from first-rate tribute acts, acrobatic performances, and chart-topping artists from the greatest musical eras.

Real Music Real Masters concerts are included with park admission.

Glenn Leonard, Joe Coleman and Joe Blunt have been around the world and back again several times each as the lead singers of three of the most legendary vocal groups of all time: the Temptations, Platters and Drifters. The three Washington, DC natives have a back-story right out of a Hollywood movie; Leonard, Coleman & Blunt grew up singing together in church and on street corners throughout the 1960s before each found fame and fortune as members of Rock and Roll royalty. Now the childhood friends are back together again, performing the biggest hits from all three groups in one show filled with magic moments and musical memories.

Pee-wee’s Big Adventure Tour Coming to Tampa

Tampa Theatre and AEG Presents are proud to announce a special 35^th anniversary screening of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, followed by amazing stories about the making of the movie with Pee-wee himself, Paul Reubens, at 7:30pm Friday, March 13.

Paul Reubens created the iconic character, Pee-wee Herman, as a member of the famed Los Angeles improv group The Groundlings. His breakthrough stage production, The Pee-wee Herman Show, premiered at The Groundlings Theatre and moved to The Roxy on Sunset Strip where it ran for an unprecedented five months. The HBO broadcast of the show introduced Pee-wee to a national audience.

Pee-wee Herman came to the big screen in the hit 1985 comedy (and Tim Burton’s feature film directorial debut) Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, which Reubens co-wrote. He went on to create, co-write and co-direct Pee-wee’s Playhouse on CBS, which earned 22 Emmy® Awards during its five year run. Reubens has personally been nominated for 14 Emmys, winning twice.

Reubens has starred in a number of diverse television roles, including 30 Rock, Pushing Daisies, Reno 911, Everybody Loves Raymond, Portlandia, The Blacklist, Gotham, Steven Soderbergh’s Mosaic, The Conners and What We Do In The Shadows. His film credits include The Blues Brothers, Cheech and Chong’s Nice Dreams, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Batman Returns, Matilda, Mystery Men and Todd Solondz’s Life During Wartime. He has lent his voice to many animated projects including The Nightmare Before Christmas, Star Wars Rebels, Family Guy, American Dad, The Smurfs, Batman: The Brave And The Bold, Tron: Uprising, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Robot Chicken and Minecraft: Storymode. He can currently be heard at Walt Disney World as the voice of DJ-R3X, the droid pilot turned DJ in Oga’s Cantina at Galaxies Edge.

Boardwalk Bowl Host New Year’s Eve Day

You can get the ball rolling on your resolution to get more active this year at Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando with a New Year celebration throughout the day.

The popular entertainment center is hosting a full day and night of activities on Tuesday, Dec. 31.

Daytime event

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Boardwalk Bowl is offering a plethora of activities fit for every member of the family, whether you’re 2 or 102! How many games can you bowl before the ball drops? Sesame Street Christmas Parade Viewing Tips

This year SeaWorld Orland’s Christmas Celebration, Sesame Street Land has been decked out for the holidays and their daily parade has a fun holiday twist!

The Sesame Street Christmas Parade features Big Bird, Grover, Elmo, and friends in their holiday best as dancing along to holiday favorites, such as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Joy to the World.”

The Sesame Street Christmas Parade is very popular, so here are a few tips for making your viewing the best it can possibly be.

The parade does not just roll down the middle of Sesame Street. The parade starts over near Abby’s Flower Tower before heading down to the end of Sesame Street Land and stopping to fill the area along the neighborhood (not attractions) with fun.

While the parade does stop, children are not encouraged to step out and join the characters during the parade stops. It’s helpful to set this expectation early, because it is tempting for little ones to want to join the dancing.

Make sure to get your spot at least 30 minutes before the parade starts to grab a spot along the street.

Be aware that if you are in the front row, you will be asked to sit down for the parade so that others behind you will be able to see.

While you are in the neighborhood, take time to enjoy the holiday decorations throughout Sesame Street Land! My favorite are the decorations in the Laundromat made of lost socks!

The Sesame Street Christmas Parade is a fantastic addition to SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration, and it is included with your theme park admission until December 31st.

Light Up UCF Returns for 12th Season

Light Up UCF brings snowy nights and sparkling lights with an all new ride, spectacular light show, outdoor skating rink, exciting holiday attractions and more to Central Florida!

Get swept up in holiday cheer at Addition Financial Arena (formerly CFE Arena) and the University of Central Florida with the annual holiday festival, Light Up UCF.

Produced by UCF Convocation Corporation and Spectra, managers of Addition Financial Arena, Light Up UCF will run through Sunday, January 5.

This year’s festival offers nights of ice skating, a world-class choreographed light show with NEW music, free holiday movies, live entertainment, rides like the Ferris Wheel and Light Up Express kids train, and NEW this year, a Carousel!

Light Up UCF offers complimentary fun for all ages. Our Holiday Light Show (powered by Duke Energy) features more than 200,000 pulsing, strobing lights throughout the night in perfect synchronization to holiday songs under snowfall. On select nights, the Holiday Film Festival (presented by AdventHealth for Children) encourages families to gather together and view their favorite holiday films on a 2-story movie screen, including titles like “Polar Express”, “The Santa Clause”, “Elf”, “Home Alone”, and more. The Light Up UCF Ice Rink, an ultimate fan favorite, returns yet again as a centerpiece for the festivities. The ice rink invites guests to glide along to their favorite Top 40 hits and holiday tunes, played by a live DJ.

There’s no shortage of fun-filled attractions for guests of all ages at Light Up UCF. The Ferris Wheel offers a sky-high panoramic view of UCF’s beautiful campus – with sights as far as Downtown Orlando. The family-oriented atmosphere also boasts the Light Up Express Train, taking little passengers for an excitingly merry train ride; the Artic Glide Ice Slide (sponsored by E-Pass) where lovers of thrill can slide across 100 feet of ice; and the Winter Whirl, taking guests on an adrenaline filled swing. Inspired by nostalgic childhood memories, the debut of our newest attraction, the Carousel, will be sure to take you on a spin of delight. Now Snowing in Celebration Celebrates 21 Years

Now Snowing, Central Florida’s original and premier “Snowing” event, offers one of the area’s only synthetic ice rinks, special community performances by some of the area’s top young talent, and special concert events throughout the season. Now Snowing is a month-long Winter Wonderland Spectacular featuring strolling Charles Dickens style Carolers**, photos with Santa**, horse drawn carriage rides, ice skating, train rides, and nightly snowfall at 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00 PM. It’s a true throwback to the traditional family style holiday.

In addition to the everyday fun at Now Snowing Nightly, you can catch a A Countdown to Christmas on December ^14th – an evening filled with young talent from across the United States and featuring talent seen on national television and radio, and more. The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle

As the stars begin to shine over the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, you’ll watch as The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle unfolds with dazzling projections of holiday spirit inspired by the words of JK Rowling.

During the show, you will see the ghosts of Hogwarts singing carols, students riding broomsticks and creating snowmen, a moment inspired by the Yule Ball and many more surprises.

If you want to make sure that you have a phenomenal viewing of The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle here are a few things to keep in mind!

The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle begins nightly at dusk until park close, to find out when dusk is in Orlando to plan your day google is accurate within a few minutes.

The show runs, weather permitting, approximately every 15 minutes. So if you are in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade and it’s crazy crowded, just wait a little longer!

Speaking of waiting a little longer…the darker it is for your viewing the better, because the projections will be crisper. If you do wait for the the last show of the night, there’s the bonus of walking through a less crowded park for pictures as you are leaving the park!!!

Since the show is ON Hogwarts Castle, it is easy to find a great spot to watch them! I like to be close to the stage where the Frog Choir performs, because it is a fantastic wide shot of the castle and surroundig effects.

If you are going to be taking photos or video of the show, make sure to find a spot where the lamp posts doesn’t get in your way as they do light up at the end of the show and can cause a glare.

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks are the newest addition to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and I am really excited to share them with you!

During the fireworks show, Minnie Mouse is our host and she is inviting everyone to come together in a celebration of the magic of Christmas.

The sky above Cinderella Castle fills with fireworks, as medleys of beloved holiday songs, from “Joy to the World” and “Deck the Halls” to “Up on the House Top” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” echo throughout the Magic Kingdom.

The music of the show evokes heartfelt moments of home and family, as well as the festive fun of the season, all building to an incredible finale.

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks only happen ONCE during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, so if seeing them is important to you make sure that you keep an eye on the time as you are exploring the park.

This show is visually stunning, but unlike the Disney Not So Spooky Spectacular during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party there is no ‘physical’ host for you to watch so if you can’t get up close and center to the castle…don’t worry! Just stand back and enjoy them from any vantage point you can.

If you are looking for a SUPER unique way to see Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, head over to new Fantasyland just outside of the Be Our Guest Restaurant and watch them fly over Beast’s castle. You won’t see the projections, but the vantage point is really neat!

I’m smitten with Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, because they are like a holiday hug from Minnie!

I 10/10 recommend!!!
