Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips Opens Today

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips Pin

I’m super excited to share that Chef Gordon Ramsay’s newest restaurant, Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips officially opens its doors today at ICON Park, the open-air entertainment destination located on International Drive.

The fast-casual restaurant serves Chef Ramsay’s take on classic fish and chips, in addition to other dishes like fried shrimp, lobster, chicken, and his signature “Fishwich.”

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips

To accompany the dishes, sauces like Gordon’s Tartar, Curry & Mango, Sriracha Aioli, Southwest Ranch, Dijon Mayonnaise and Cocktail sauce are featured.

The menu also includes a “Just Chips” section of “dirty” fries with a combination of toppings like jalapeño, chorizo, cotija cheese, red onion, chives and parsley or truffle, parmesan cheese, chives, and parsley. The restaurant also serves two delicious shakes – Sticky Toffee Pudding and Biscoff.

“Fish & Chips was a real tradition for me growing up, so I’m excited to deliver that same nostalgia to all the local residents and tourists here in Orlando,” said Ramsay.

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips Rendering

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips’ first restaurant is located in Las Vegas at The LINQ Promenade, where the staff use 25,000 pounds of potatoes monthly to prepare their expertly textured chips. The ICON Park restaurant is Gordon Ramsay North America’s first in Florida. Its color scheme is reflective of the Union Jack; blue and red with industrial hardware touches. White subway tiles line the sleek kitchen space while an iconic red telephone box serves as the restaurant’s entrance and exit.

During grand opening previews the restaurant collected donations that will be given to its national charity partners, Make-A-Wish and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as well as its local partner Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The restaurant is excited to be part of the local community and eager to welcome Central Florida residents and visitors.

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips ICON Park is open for lunch and dinner Sunday through Thursday from 11:00am to 11:00pm, and Friday through Saturday from 11:00am to 12:00am. No reservations are required and service is first-come, first-serve.

Walt Disney World Foodie News: July 2021

In July, the Walt Disney World Resort will be reopening dining locations and offering a wide variety of new food for everyone to enjoy, and the Disney Parks Blog shared all the details.

I’m talking about everything from snacks to signature dining throughout the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs!

Walt Disney World Foodie News: July 2021

You can now dine “underneath the lovely London sky” in the newly reimagined Cítricos at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, which pays homage to the whimsy and elegance of Mary Poppins Returns.

Walt Disney World Foodie News July 2021 - Citricos Look

Taking subtle cues from the movie’s animated sequence, the dining room brings guests into a fanciful garden setting where you can “trip a little light fantastic” as you experience the restaurant surrounded by the glow from decorative lamps and chandeliers.

Walt Disney World Foodie News July 2021 - Citricos Menu

Chef Andres Mendoza crafted a new menu with starters like Sweet Corn Bisque with pickled fennel, popcorn, and fennel oil and a colorful Strawberry Salad with chamomile-infused goat cheese, frisée lettuce, bacon vinaigrette, and spiced sunflower seeds.

Entrées include Butter-poached Florida Cobia with mashed fingerling potatoes, grilled asparagus, and local mushrooms with a grapefruit beurre blanc or a delicious Guava Barbequed Short Ribs with aged cheddar creamy grits, roasted poblano, curtido slaw, and Brussels sprouts.

Walt Disney World Foodie News July 2021 - Citricos Dessert

For a sweet ending to your meal, Pastry Chef Kristine Farmer created some truly delicious and decadent desserts such as Warm Apple Rose with seasonal apple, marzipan layers, and frozen coconut milk and the Chocolate Torte, a dark chocolate financier, dark cherry compote, and vanilla bean mascarpone cream.

Walt Disney World Foodie News July 2021 - Citricos Drinks

The wine and cocktail program, designed by Sommelier Israel Perez, is exceptional. For those who enjoy an elevated food and wine experience, the new and exclusive Sommelier Room at Cítricos will allow Israel and his team to source boutique wines that pair with special creations from Chef Andres.

Cítricos will open on July 15, with bookings available on July 1.

One of my family’s favorites, Trail’s End Restaurant at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, will reopen July 17 with hearty family-style skillets for breakfast and dinner.

Mosey on over to Fort Wilderness to start your morning with an oven-fresh pastry basket and berry granola yogurt parfait for the table, followed by a hearty family-style skillet with smoked brisket and eggs, bacon, sausage, and cheesy potato casserole. Of course, no breakfast is complete without Mickey waffles! Adults can sip on Moonshine Morning Cocktails – a Pioneer Mimosa with passion, orange, and guava juices and a Mountain Mary with moonshine.

Dinner at Trail’s End is a rootin’ tootin’ good time that starts with hushpuppies and skillet cornbread with a chopped garden salad for the table. The family-style Smokehouse Skillet comes with pecan-smoked brisket, rotisserie chicken, andouille sausage, fingerlings potatoes, green beans, and buttered corn on the cob. Pork spare ribs, peel n’ eat shrimp, and cornbread-crusted salmon are available as tasty add-ons to your meal.

But be sure to save room for the Covered Wagon Sundae – a wagon load of ice cream, toppings, brownies, cookies, and chocolate-covered bacon! Adults can even kick back with Moonshine Cocktails.

Walt Disney World Foodie News July 2021 - Casey's Corner

Get ready to hit your craving for hot dogs out of the park! Casey’s Corner on Main Street, U.S.A., will reopen June 30 with their classic all-beef hot dogs. Catch hold of a Chili-Cheese All-Beef Hot Dog or dig into a pile of Corn Dog Nuggets with, of course, cheese sauce.

And for those who eat a plant-based, the Loaded Slaw Dog (plant-based sausage topped with pickled slaw, barbecue vegan aïoli, and roasted corn relish), is back!

The Frozen Mint Julep Lemonade is a refreshing homerun to go along with your hot dog.

And don’t forget, mobile order is available at Casey’s Corner.

Get ready to treat yourself to hand-scooped ice cream at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor hosted by Edys. This oh-so-sweet nostalgic ice cream parlor on Main Street, U.S.A., will open July 7 with all your favorite flavors on a cone or in a cup – fat-free and no sugar added, as well as plant-based non-dairy options will be available.

And more sweet news: Barq’s Root Beer Floats and Coca-Cola Floats are back! Not sure it can get much better than that!

Walt Disney World Foodie News July 2021 - Eight Spoon Cafe at DAK

Eight Spoon Café at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is now open and offers their delish Baked Macaroni & Cheese (with or without pulled pork). The exciting news – the Pulled Pork Jelly Donut Sandwich is back! YUM!

Dino Diner will reopen July 4, so you can grab a Dino-Rama Chili-Cheese Dog or a Corn Chip Pie. You can even get your churro fix at Dino Diner!

We have a new summer offering the entire family will love starting June 30 – Disney Family Night Dinner. This playful, family-style dining bundle includes a take-out shareable meal, sweet treats, and an original card-type game inspired by some of your favorite Disney friends for your family and friends to enjoy.

Chicken Guy! Coming to Winter Park

Chicken Guy! Winter Park Rendering

Chef, restaurateur, New York Times Best Selling Author, and Emmy Award-winning TV host, Guy Fieri, and internationally renowned restaurateur, Robert Earl, are thrilled to announce that they have teamed up once again to open their third Chicken Guy! location in Florida, this time in Winter Park.

The exciting new venue will be the first corporate-owned free-standing location with a drive-thru component, making the iconic menu more accessible to Orlando locals and visitors alike. Joining its successful predecessors at Disney Springs in Lake Buena Vista, FL and at Aventura Mall in Miami, FL, the fast-casual chain dedicated to serving delicious, succulent chicken tenders paired with 22-signature sauces to please all palates, will feature interior seating for 80 guests indoors and seating for 12 outdoors.

The spacious 3,500 square-foot restaurant will have a sliding glass door of windows, a unique design element that will easily provide plenty of natural light or an open-air dining experience on a nice day.

The parking lot will have reserved parking spaces to accommodate third party delivery services as well as guests who order on-line, with dedicated staff who will bring the orders directly to waiting cars.

The menu at Chicken Guy! features one-of-a-kind all-natural fresh chicken tenders, hand-pounded to maximize crunch and paired with a wide selection of delicious sauces. Brined in fresh lemon juice, pickle brine, buttermilk, and infused with fresh herbs, these tenders deliver on flavor and texture.

The menu includes tenders—grilled or fried—in sandwiches, straight up on skewers, or in meal-sized salad bowls, your choice of signatures sauces to enjoy with the chicken as well as tempting sides like Chicken Guy! Fries with Guy’s special fry seasoning, crowd-pleasing Mac Daddy Mac ‘n Cheese, fried pickles, and fresh slaw.

For dessert, Chicken Guy! features delicious Flavortown Frozen Treats that will satisfy any sweet tooth. The Triple Double Ice Cream Treat–triple chocolate and double-mint, or the Cinnamon Apple – a heaping cup of vanilla soft serve ice cream smothered in Cinnamon Toast Crunch™ and Apple Jacks™ cereal- are not to be missed and, of course, classic shakes are always available—Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and Oreo Cookie.

“It’s always such a pleasure to be able to work with Guy on Chicken Guy! ventures and I’m beyond pleased to open a location in Winter Park,” said Planet Hollywood founder and chairman, Robert Earl. “Chicken Guy! is a proven crowd-pleaser now with three locations in Florida and two in sporting arenas on game days including FedEx Field in Maryland and Levi’s® Stadium in Santa Clara, we are well on our way to becoming a household name nationwide.”

Set to open in late summer 2021, Chicken Guy! is located at 818 South Orlando Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789.

With a mixture of colorful meets playful design elements and modern finishes that will delight guests as they dine on-site, Chicken Guy! also offers innovative packaging that will make carry out and delivery orders even more fun to enjoy at home or on-the-go. No detail has been overlooked in providing the best possible dining experience that keeps guests coming back for more every chance they get.

World Whiskey Day at Raglan Road Pub

Disclosure: I was invited by Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant to check out their World Whiskey Day offerings, but all opinions are my own. I have spent many an evening enjoying the food and dancing with my family on my own dime. It is my family’s favorite Disney Springs spot, and it should be yours, too!!!

Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant is known for their celebrations that are the perfect mix of delicious dishes, delightful libations, and world-class entertainment…but their new World Whiskey Day offerings, available through May 15th, are some of my favorites.

Since it’s whiskey we’re here for…let’s start with a Rosemary Maple Whiskey Sour!

Dickel 12 Tennessee Whiskey, crushed rosemary, dark maple syrup, egg white, and lemon sour

This was a great way to start the evening, because it was really refreshing with a pour that was strong enough to do the job without drowning out the layers of flavor.

But the star of the show is their four whiskey flight of small-batch, premium, limited release whiskeys for $25 (normally $45).

The Raglan Road World Whisk(e)y Day flight takes you around the world to celebrate the unique flavors of whiskey…and this is one flight you are sure to enjoy!

Irish: Powers. Johns Lane Release – 12 yr.

An abundance of earthy aromas like leather and tobacco, with layers of charred wood, dark chocolate, and treacle toffee. Taste of spice up front followed by vanilla, honey and dried apricot

Japanese: Mars Shinshu, Iwai Tradition

A blended whisky of single malts, grains, and blended whiskies. The whisky is then aged in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, and ex-wine casks, creating a perfect harmony of flavors. Iwai Tradition is a special tribute to Iwai and Japanese Whisky

American: Whistle Pig – 10 year Rye

This 10-year-old, 100-proof rye whiskey is robust and distinctive in character. The nose offers a decadent mix of toffee apples, candied orange, and oak, with stone fruit and subtle spice arriving on the back end. The palate continues the rich, luxurious journey, but finishes drier and spicier than the nose suggests.

Scotch: Laphroaig Select. Single Malt.

This special award-winning Laphroaig is created from carefully selected casks  from a final maturation in new, American oak casks. It represents a subtle blending of peat, oak and sweetness.

“It offers the punters a chance to try something they might not have tried before, and also to compare global tastes side by side,” says Raglan Road General Manager Alan Delahunt. “It’s an exceptional whiskey experience.”

Now that we’ve got a good base…let’s take a look at the exceptional food (that I have my fingers crossed will make their way to the Raglan Road menu)!

World Whiskey Day Starters

Let’s start with the Whiskey BBQ glazed chicken lollipops, Roasted Corn & Bacon Crumble with corn puree!

World Whiskey Day 2021 Raglan Road Disney Springs

Our second starter was Whiskey glazed pork cheek, smoked potato terrine, apple espuma & pork crackling crumb.

World Whiskey Day 2021 Raglan Road Disney Springs

I’ve never had pork cheek before…but I will absolutely order it again when I find it on a menu!!!

World Whiskey Day Mains

Our first entrée dish tasting was the Whiskey cured house-smoked salmon, lemon & herb crushed potatoes, pea texture & horseradish with crispy skin.

World Whiskey Day 2021 Raglan Road Disney Springs

The crispy skin and pea texture combination was the perfect way to cut the luscious smoked salmon.

And the smoky and just fabulous Whiskey braised beef cheek, triple cooked duck fat chips, whiskey & vinegar salt, mushroom ketchup & crispy onions was our last entrée bite.

World Whiskey Day 2021 Raglan Road Disney Springs

Don’t sleep on mushroom ketchup…I know I won’t!!!

World Whiskey Day Desserts

I’m more of a appetizer girl than a dessert girl…but that all changed with these two new desserts that absolutely NEEEEEEEED to be made a part of the Raglan Road menu!

If you have ever wondered what the perfect apple dessert was…look no further than the apple baked dumplings, whiskey butterscotch Jameson sauce, and milk ice cream!!!

World Whiskey Day 2021 Raglan Road Disney Springs

And if you are a chocolate enthusiast, you will dream about the whiskey chocolate caramel brownie, Guinness marshmallow, and graham cracker crunch!

World Whiskey Day 2021 Raglan Road Disney Springs

If you like sharing a dessert I would suggest opting for this decadent brownie, but if you are like me desserts aren’t for sharing so stop looking at my apple baked dumplings!!!

If you are heading to Disney Springs, I will ALWAYS suggest visiting Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant…but now I will ESPECIALLY suggest you visit to celebrate World Whiskey Day!!!

White Castle Opens in Orlando

White Castle Grand Opening Moment

Since its beginning in 1921, White Castle has held fast to its founder’s belief that families everywhere should be able to enjoy an evening at a restaurant with tasty food at a great value.

And now Orlando is home to the Orlando Castle – the largest, free-standing White Castle in the World – which marks the restaurant’s return to Florida since operating several Miami locations during the 1960s.

President and CEO Lisa Ingram – a fourth-generation family member – along with other family members, company leaders, White Castle Hall of Famers, local elected officials, development partners, and guests were excited to attend the Orlando Castle’s Grand Opening on May 3, 2021.

“You could say our Orlando Castle has been 100 years in the making,” remarked Ingram. “We have been humbled and honored by the warm welcome we have received to date from the Central Florida community. Our vision at White Castle is to ‘feed the souls of craver generations everywhere,’ and our mission is to ‘create memorable moments every day. We can’t wait to meet our new neighbors, whether long-time Cravers or new to the Castle.

  • Every table has multiple charging ports for mobile devices to keep all ‘Cravers’ connected.
White Castle Orlando Charging Tables

  • The Orlando Castle will be open 24 hours and life the slider cap in the future.

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips Coming to ICON Park

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips

I was beyond excited to share that Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips will be coming to Orlando’s ICON Park!!!

Slated to open at the popular I-Drive location on August 2021 opening, Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips ICON Park will seat more than 30 guests with indoor and counter seating, with additional outdoor patio seating that overlooks ICON Park’s observation wheel, picturesque fountains, and lawn.

“It was a real tradition for me growing up, so I’m excited to bring that nostalgia from my youth to Orlando, for all the residents that call the City Beautiful home and the millions of tourists that visit each year,” said Ramsay.

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips

The fast-casual British-style eatery takes it to the next level with fresh, sustainable ingredients paired with hand-crafted shakes, fresh-squeezed lemonades and ice-cold domestic and import beers.

The star of the show is the fish & chips. Since Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips opened in Las Vegas in 2016, the restaurant has served over 750,000 fish & chips.

Made with sustainable True Cod and coated with custard powder batter for the perfect golden crisp, the fish continues to be a standout menu item.

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips

The chips will be served “natural” with sea salt or “dirty” with truffle, parmesan and chives; chipotle, jalapeño and crisp chorizo; or bacon, cheddar cheese, green onions and sour cream.

Alternatives like marinated shrimp with basil and lavender or chicken and chips will also be available, along with some seasonal specials and secret menu items.

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips

The restaurant’s color scheme is reflective of the Union Jack with blue and red with industrial hardware touches. White subway tiles line the sleek kitchen space while an iconic red telephone box serves as the restaurant’s entrance and exit.

The restaurant will create over 30 jobs and is currently hiring for all full-time and part-time positions. Interested applicants should email their resume to jobs@grna.com.
