Paul McCartney has added more U.S. dates to his all-new 2013 “Out There” tour and will play the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida on May 18.

As previously announced, the tour will also be making stops May 22 in Austin, Texas at the Frank Erwin Center, May 29 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the BOK Center, July 9 in Boston, Massachusetts at Fenway Park and July 12 in Washington DC at Nationals Ballpark.

Paul McCartney’s “Out There” tour is a brand new, never-before-seen production.  The tour will feature hours of material from the most beloved catalog in popular music, with McCartney performing songs spanning his entire career–as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course The Beatles.

Paul McCartney

The McCartney live experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity. For approximately three hours, many of the greatest moments of the last 50 years of musical history–not to mention the soundtracks of entire lives–are magically brought to life as only McCartney’s can do.  Last year marked 40 years since McCartney’s premiere tour as a solo artist and these past four decades have seen him play in a staggeringly impressive range of venues and locations, including outside the Coliseum in Rome, in Moscow’s Red Square, at the White House, a free show in Mexico to over 400,000 people and even a performance beamed into outer space.  Having played with his peerless band of Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (keyboards), Rusty Anderson (guitar), Abe Laboriel Jr. (drums) and Brian Ray (bass/guitar) for over ten years, Paul never disappoints.

McCartney is throwing himself into 2013 with full force following yet another landmark year in 2012, which saw him conclude his record-breaking “On The Run” tour, release his Grammy®-winning “Kisses On The Bottom” album, accept a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, play at both the Diamond Jubilee and Olympics Opening Ceremony, be named MusiCares Person of the Year and headline 12-12-12 The Concert For Sandy Relief–to highlight just a few memorable moments. With the “Out There'” tour and a new studio album in the works, it looks like 2013 will show no signs of McCartney slowing down.

The “Out There” tour will see Paul and his band travel the world throughout the year, visiting both places of historical significance to McCartney and new spots for the very first time. Further announcements and dates will be added in the coming weeks.

Stay tuned to www.paulmccartney.com for official news and updates.

Billboard ranked his 2011 tour as the ninth highest grossing tour of the year, just behind Lady Gaga. He has broken all classical concert records, packing stadiums and arenas with more than 700,000 adoring fans each year. Rieu has sold more than 32 million albums globally and received 243 platinum awards for his albums. With his natural charisma, Rieu conducts his 60-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra and plays his 1,732 Stradivarius violin to create a celebratory atmosphere.

“Every night when I play around the whole world, I’m able to witness what the waltz does with the audience. People get out of their seats and waltz in the aisles spontaneously. They sing, they smile and for a moment they forget all their worries and are happy. That is why this tour is an ode to the waltz!” says Rieu.

André Rieu

More than waltzes
Sure, the maestro and his orchestra will perform beautiful waltzes on this tour, but the concerts are much more than that. From famous Viennese operettas to film scores, spirituals to musicals and from folk songs to marches; Rieu’s concerts are a perfect mix of thrilling, romantic, festive and emotional melodies combined with surprises, balloons, beautiful soloists and of course, Rieu’s great sense of humor.

A record breaking 2012
2012 was a very successful year for the violinist. Rieu gave a record breaking series of 30 sold-out concerts in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He won a Classic BRIT award for his album “And The Waltz Goes On” and was nominated for a prestigious Mexican Luna award. With his first tour in Brazil, Rieu reached the number one position in Pollstar’s Box Office Chart of highest grossing tours in July. Leaving behind artists like Lady Gaga, Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead, Coldplay, Celine Dion, The Black Keys and Pearl Jam.

On October 30, Rieu’s record company, Universal Music released Home For The Holidays on CD, DVD and Blu-ray™.

Trans Siberian Orchestra and a few Ugly Sweaters!

On Sunday December 16th I was invited to participate in the Amway Center‘s Ugly Sweater Social before the Trans Siberian Orchestra Show and to sit in their Suite for the show! I haven’t seen Trans Siberian Orchestra since I was a little girl in Boston, and I am MORE THEN willing to throw on an Ugly Christmas Sweater! So I grabbed up James and Shalon and we headed off to the concert!

Why YES I made the Husband dress all Festive too!!!!
Why YES I made the Husband dress all Festive too!!!!
I had a Sweater Vest, A Shirt, A Hair Bow and EVERYTHING was FESTIVE!
I had a Sweater Vest, A Shirt, A Hair Bow and EVERYTHING was FESTIVE!

When we arrived at the Amway Center we went right up to the social suite to meet up with Jennifer who had little gifties for us.

Awwww!!!!
Awwww!!!!

Why is it that Holiday candy always tastes better?
Why is it that Holiday candy always tastes better?

Joy comes in MANY forms!
Joy comes in MANY forms!

I had no idea what to expect before the concert started. And while I knew it would be loud and flashy, I had NO idea it would keep me so captivated for the entire show.

Wow….The Trans Siberian Orchestra takes story telling to a WHOLE new level. They had singers, dancers, guitars, lasers, electric violins, fire, raised platforms, and even a few ballads! It took rock concerts and story telling to a whole new level by doing it in a way that nobody has ever done before. I can see why families make this an annual event. And the best part, was that the Trans Siberian Orchestra kept the energy up, and they went loud, flashy, and hard for almost three hours!!! It was amazing!!!

Thank you to Jennifer at The Amway Center for having the three of us and thank you to Trans Siberian Orchestra for making the concert memorable!

Please head over to our Facebook page to see more pictures and our YouTube page to see some awesome video!

Happy Holidays!!!

RINGLING BROS. AND BARNUM & BAILEY HOST 4TH ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE

RINGLING BROS. AND BARNUM & BAILEY HOST 4TH ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE TO BENEFIT SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK

ORLANDO, Fla. – NOVEMBER 9, 2012 – With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey is again collecting food to help stock Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida (SHFBCF)’s pantry shelves. During this difficult economy and as the holidays approach, the agency’s need for food donations continues to increase.

For one day only, Thursday, November 15 between 7-9 a.m., Ringling Bros. is again offering Central Florida consumers the opportunity to support their community and donate non-perishable, unexpired food items in exchange for ticket vouchers to Built To Amaze!, the all-new 143rd Edition of The Greatest Show On Earth®. A donation of 10 food items entitles each consumer to one ticket voucher, with a limit of four vouchers (40 food items donated) per household. Vouchers can be redeemed at the Amway Center box office for the Thursday, January 10, 7:30 p.m. opening night performance. Ticket vouchers are available to those who donate on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last. Free ticket vouchers apply to opening night, promenade level only.

Ringling Bros. and SHFBCF are making it easy with drive-through service! No need to find a parking space or carry heavy grocery bags – consumers can even stay in their PJ’s! They can simply drive to the Blue Lot at the Amway Center (located off Hughey Ave, parallel to I-4, just past Hughey and Church), stay in their cars, and volunteers will meet them and exchange ticket vouchers for donations, right through car windows.

Consumers can return to the Amway Center box office between Nov. 16 (when tickets go on sale to the general public) and January 12 to redeem vouchers for tickets. The Amway Center box office is located on Church Street. Short-term (15 minutes) parking is available in front of the box office on Church Street except during events. The Amway Center box office does not take ticket orders over the phone. Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and three (3) hours prior to any event.

Ringling Bros. has raised more than 10,000 pounds of food for SHFBCF since 2009. Hundreds of Central Floridians have participated — from dads in gym shorts to moms in PJs to young professionals on their way to work. “This format works very well for us to collect a significant amount of donations in just two hours,” said Sasha Hausman, development manager for SHFBCF. “We are again encouraging members of our community to participate, and grateful to Feld Entertainment for their partnership.”

SHFBCF secures and distributes food and grocery products to approximately 500 agencies that feed the hungry throughout Central Florida. SHFBCF accepts nonperishable food donations including boxed cereal, stuffing, canned meat, fruit, cranberry sauce, gravy and vegetables. The agency’s most needed items include nonfat dry milk, peanut butter, baby food, and canned tuna, meat, vegetables and fruit.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® is proud to present Built To Amaze! at Amway Center January 10-13. Drama, surprise and wonder build the excitement so BIG that it could only be The Greatest Show On Earth®. Tickets for Saturday and Sunday performances are: $100 (Circus Celebrity), $70 (Front Row), $40 (VIP), $27, $22 and $15. Ticketmaster service charges and facility fees not included. Solar Bears to Raise The Turner Cup Banner

SOLAR BEARS TO RAISE TURNER CUP CHAMPIONSHIP BANNER

Orlando, Fl. – The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that they will honor the 2001 (IHL) Championship team by raising the Turner Cup Championship banner during this year’s Out of Hibernation season. The banner is scheduled to be raised during a special pre-game ceremony on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Amway Center before the Solar Bears take on the Trenton Titans.

In 2001, the Orlando Solar Bears defeated the Chicago Wolves 5-1 in Game 5 of the best of seven series to win the Championship series 4 games to 1. The Solar Bears were the last IHL team to win the Turner Cup before the IHL ceased operations that summer.

“From ‘Day One’ of our existence we have had every intention of honoring the past as we celebrate our future.  This is unfinished business,” stated Solar Bears Managing Partner Jason Siegel.  “For the players and coaches, front office staff, Amway Arena staff, and fans of the 2001 Championship team this ceremony is long overdue and we are honored to play a small role in assuring it happens.”

The banner raising pregame ceremony will include special appearances by members of the Solar Bears’ championship team.   Arrangements have been made with the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto to have the Turner Cup on hand and the current Solar Bears team will wear commemorative throw-back jerseys that night.  Fans in attendance on February 2 will take home commemorative mini-banners as a keep sake.

Over the next 2-6 weeks the Solar Bears expect to announce a number of player signings, our new radio broadcast partner, details for our OSB Training Camp dates and Open Invitation Try-Out, Single Game Ticket “On Sale” date, details regarding the formation of the OSB Alumni Association, details about two trophies that will be awarded annually to a current Solar Bears player in honor and memory of both Dan Snyder and Rob Kenny, and a number of exciting promotional events.
