Real Music Real Masters Concert Series 2020

Real Music Real Masters, the longest running concert series at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, brings unique acts to the Stanleyville Theater from Tuesdays through Sunday from January 7 to March 15.

The Real Music Real Masters concerts include performances from first-rate tribute acts, acrobatic performances, and chart-topping artists from the greatest musical eras.

Real Music Real Masters concerts are included with park admission.

Event dates and details subject to change and/or cancellation without prior notice.

LEONARD, COLEMAN AND BLUNT: FORMER LEAD VOCALISTS OF THE TEMPTATIONS, PLATTERS AND DRIFTERS

Glenn Leonard, Joe Coleman and Joe Blunt have been around the world and back again several times each as the lead singers of three of the most legendary vocal groups of all time: the Temptations, Platters and Drifters. The three Washington, DC natives have a back-story right out of a Hollywood movie; Leonard, Coleman & Blunt grew up singing together in church and on street corners throughout the 1960s before each found fame and fortune as members of Rock and Roll royalty. Now the childhood friends are back together again, performing the biggest hits from all three groups in one show filled with magic moments and musical memories.

THE DIAMONDS

PIANO MEN: SIR ELTON JOHN AND BILLY JOEL TRIBUTE

Sir Elton John and Billy Joel tribute artists Jeffrey Allen and Lee Alverson have joined forces to create “The Ultimate Tribute Show”. The two capture both artists in this high energy, interactive rock n roll show! Just like the original tour, each artist performs a solo set with the a rock n roll band, and then culminate the show with a “face to face” set which features both of them playing together on two pianos trading off lyrics as their costumes take you “through the years”. The show is an experience of hit songs, energetic performances, outrageous costumes, and true rock n roll at its finest!

CLASSIC STONES LIVE: THE WORLD’S GREATEST ROCK & ROLL TRIBUTE SHOW

Front man Keith Call has all of the moves and swagger of Mick Jagger, and along with his partner in crime Bernie Bollendorf, who portrays rock and roll outlaw Keith Richards, they complete the duo notoriously hailed as “The Glimmer Twins”. Their jaw dropping resemblance to these two rock and roll icons is simply amazing, but what truly makes Classic Stones Live™ unique, is their musical prowess, attention to detail, and the spot on renditions of all of your favorite Rolling Stones “classics”! Drummer Phil Charrette and bassist Mitch Taylor are veterans of the southwestern Ontario and Detroit circuits. The band performs all the iconic songs that made Queen one of the most legendary rock bands of all time, and faithfully recreates the grand scope of Queen’s live shows, both musically and visually, with attention to detail capturing the live amazing live Queen experience that filled stadiums around the world.

The M&M’s Orlando Store is coming to Disney Springs’ West Side, near the NBA Experience, in 2020 bringing sweet treats and merchandise to Walt Disney World!

Disney Springs West Side is already bustling with excitement as it is home to the recently opened NBA Experience and will also open the new Cirque du Soleil show (slated to premiere on April 17, 2020) and Beatrix Neighborhood Restaurant in 2020.

According to the Disney Parks Blog Post…

The new state-of-the-art store will offer an immersive experience that combines the colorful fun that fans of the M&M’S brand enjoy with lasting memories.

“Guests will be fully immersed into an interactive chocolate experience that will create more moments and more smiles through the colorful fun of M&M’S,” said Patrick McIntyre, director of global retail at Mars Retail Group.

Currently The M&M’s Orlando Store is open at the Florida Mall.

Pee-wee’s Big Adventure Tour Coming to Tampa

Tampa Theatre and AEG Presents are proud to announce a special 35^th anniversary screening of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, followed by amazing stories about the making of the movie with Pee-wee himself, Paul Reubens, at 7:30pm Friday, March 13.

Paul Reubens created the iconic character, Pee-wee Herman, as a member of the famed Los Angeles improv group The Groundlings. His breakthrough stage production, The Pee-wee Herman Show, premiered at The Groundlings Theatre and moved to The Roxy on Sunset Strip where it ran for an unprecedented five months. The HBO broadcast of the show introduced Pee-wee to a national audience.

Pee-wee Herman came to the big screen in the hit 1985 comedy (and Tim Burton’s feature film directorial debut) Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, which Reubens co-wrote. He went on to create, co-write and co-direct Pee-wee’s Playhouse on CBS, which earned 22 Emmy® Awards during its five year run. Reubens has personally been nominated for 14 Emmys, winning twice.

Reubens has starred in a number of diverse television roles, including 30 Rock, Pushing Daisies, Reno 911, Everybody Loves Raymond, Portlandia, The Blacklist, Gotham, Steven Soderbergh’s Mosaic, The Conners and What We Do In The Shadows. His film credits include The Blues Brothers, Cheech and Chong’s Nice Dreams, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Batman Returns, Matilda, Mystery Men and Todd Solondz’s Life During Wartime. He has lent his voice to many animated projects including The Nightmare Before Christmas, Star Wars Rebels, Family Guy, American Dad, The Smurfs, Batman: The Brave And The Bold, Tron: Uprising, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Robot Chicken and Minecraft: Storymode. He can currently be heard at Walt Disney World as the voice of DJ-R3X, the droid pilot turned DJ in Oga’s Cantina at Galaxies Edge.

Wild Florida Opens Drive-Thru Safari

For ten years Wild Florida, in Kenansville, has focused on educating individuals on Central Florida’s natural resources, and now they are taking guests around the world with the opening of their new Drive-Thru Safari Park experience.

The new expansion includes 85 acres of untouched scenic landscapes giving guests of the wildlife and safari park the opportunity to identify species from as far away as the African savanna to the deciduous forests of North America from the comfort of their own car.

Along the over two miles of pathways, drivers and passengers will come up-close to over 100 animals roaming freely including giraffes, zebra, eland antelope, scimitar oryx, American bison, mouflon sheep, and more.

The Drive-Thru Safari experience is not just confined to your car because there is an elevated giraffe platform where you can hand-feed these beautiful animals.

The park also contains a massive pond dedicated exclusively as a home for all “nuisance”alligators, trapped by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) SNAP program.

Wild Florida also plans to open a world class zip-line through the safari park that spans across untouched cypress swamps, animal exhibits and scenic landscapes in Spring 2020.

As an added value, Safari Park tickets include FREE admission to Wild Florida’s Gator Park with over 200 native and exotic animals, a petting zoo, a variety of educational animal shows, delicious food, and more.

Inside the Gator Park you can spend the day learning about American Alligators with Crusher – the park’s biggest American alligator who weighs over 1,000 pounds, view hands-on demonstrations with some of the Wild Florida residents during an Exotic Animal Show, and witnessing the power and speed of the American alligator during the Gator Feeding Show.

Boardwalk Bowl Host New Year’s Eve Day

You can get the ball rolling on your resolution to get more active this year at Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando with a New Year celebration throughout the day.

The popular entertainment center is hosting a full day and night of activities on Tuesday, Dec. 31.

Daytime event

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Boardwalk Bowl is offering a plethora of activities fit for every member of the family, whether you’re 2 or 102! How many games can you bowl before the ball drops? Find out during our All-You-Can Bowl special. For just $10, bowl as many games as you want for up to three hours. Shoes are included!

If you can’t make it past midnight or the kids need to make bedtime, don’t worry, we’re having our own ball drop early! In the afternoon, everyone will gather around as thousands of balloons drop from the ceiling.

The fun doesn’t stop here. Once the kids are tucked in bed, it’s the grown-ups turn to raise the roof. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., Boardwalk Bowl is the perfect place for friends to gather and ring in 2020 together. We’re offering special pricing on lanes so you’ll have your own spot to sit back and relax. Tower Studio Tour at Disney’s Riviera Resort

DISCLOSURE: I was an invited guest of the Walt Disney World Resort to tour Disney’s Riviera Resort, but all opinions and overuse of exclamation marks are all my own.

Disney’s Riviera Resort is the first Disney Vacation Club property to feature a Tower Studio room type.

While the resort has 12 of these rooms, located in the Resort’s tower featuring the iconic ‘Double Rs’, and while their layout is compact their function is off the charts.

Let’s take a look at the Tower Studio Floor Plan.

As you can see it features a main room, generously sized bathroom with closet, and a balcony (parking area, garden, or water views are available).

What makes these rooms so special is that every space has a double use.

Without a traditional dresser, shelves and drawers are located in the wall unit that also houses the queen-sized pull-down bed.

Speaking of pull-down bed, when it’s time to transform the room from day to night, there’s no need to move the couch (only the two small ottomans that also have storage) because as you pull the bed down the couch folds under.

While we are here, let’s take a second to admire the fantastic Peter Pan artwork on the wall behind the bed!!!

Also note that on either side of the bed are little books that feature two USB ports and two standard plugs for charging your electronics.

It’s also worth noting that in this living space you will find the new Walt Disney World smart televisions that we first saw in Gran Destino Tower.

And while it may seem large compared to the living space of the Tower Studio, the bathroom size is filled with touches and a closet that help make this cozy space functional.

Sesame Street Christmas Parade Viewing Tips

This year SeaWorld Orland’s Christmas Celebration, Sesame Street Land has been decked out for the holidays and their daily parade has a fun holiday twist!

The Sesame Street Christmas Parade features Big Bird, Grover, Elmo, and friends in their holiday best as dancing along to holiday favorites, such as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Joy to the World.”

The Sesame Street Christmas Parade is very popular, so here are a few tips for making your viewing the best it can possibly be.

The parade does not just roll down the middle of Sesame Street. The parade starts over near Abby’s Flower Tower before heading down to the end of Sesame Street Land and stopping to fill the area along the neighborhood (not attractions) with fun.

While the parade does stop, children are not encouraged to step out and join the characters during the parade stops. It’s helpful to set this expectation early, because it is tempting for little ones to want to join the dancing.

Make sure to get your spot at least 30 minutes before the parade starts to grab a spot along the street.

Be aware that if you are in the front row, you will be asked to sit down for the parade so that others behind you will be able to see.

While you are in the neighborhood, take time to enjoy the holiday decorations throughout Sesame Street Land! My favorite are the decorations in the Laundromat made of lost socks!

The Sesame Street Christmas Parade is a fantastic addition to SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration, and it is included with your theme park admission until December 31st.

ICON Park Hosts Bowl Game Spirit Nights

ICON Park is bringing college football excitement from the field to the sky with five days of events for fans of teams playing in the Camping World Bowl and VRBO Citrus Bowl.

Team spirit will reach new heights when the 400-foot-high Wheel is lit up in individual team colors. On December 28, once the Camping World Bowl champion is crowned, The Wheel will glow in the winner’s colors.
