D23 will be bringing the Fanniversary event into the homes of D23 Members everywhere as it kicks off the D23 Fanniversary Home Edition celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Lady and the Tramp June 12-14.

To get ready for the big event, I will be sharing fun activities and party recipes all week!

I thought it would be a lot of fun to start the week off with some lesser known facts about Walt Disney’s Lady and the Tramp!

1. Walt Disney originally didn’t want to include the ‘Bella Note’ spaghetti-eating scene, now one of the most iconic moments in the whole Disney canon.

2. Hiring Peggy Lee was the first instance of a superstar voice being used for an animated film.

3. In early script versions, Tramp was first called Homer, then Rags, and Bozo.

4. A 1940 script introduced the twin Siamese cats. Eventually known as Si and Am, they were then named Nip and Tuck.

5. The film’s setting was partly inspired by Walt Disney’s boyhood hometown of Marceline, Missouri.

6. When Lady and the Tramp have a night on the town they put their paw prints in a heart with an arrow through it with the initials J.M. and E.B. Tramps paw prints appear under the J.M. while Lady’s appear under E.B.

7. Lady and the Tramp is Walt Disney’s 15th animated feature.
