Disneyland Holidays Returning

Last year I was fortunate enough to experience Disneyland at the holidays for the first time. It really is the most wonderful time of the year to be at the Disney Parks. Yesterday the Disney Parks Blog announced the return of some of the elements from last year that are returning. I thought I’d share some of my favorite aspects of the holidays between Disneyland, Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney. I also cannot wait to see this again with friends this year.

We started our trip (after the requisite trip to In-N-Out of course) with a visit to Trader Sam’s to see the great holiday decorations and drinks.

Next up we moseyed through Downtown Disney to see the beautiful holiday lights and Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink.

Disneyland does decorations right. Whether it is during the day or at night, the tradition of Main Street USA, or the rustic beauty of Frontierland or charm of New Orleans Square, it is a gorgeous sight to be seen.

Two of the absolute best parts of the holidays at Disneyland are It’s A Small World Holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday. These overlays are amazing and I cannot wait to see them again this year! I had to ride both two times they were so incredibly detailed.

Over in Disney California Adventure, I loved the decorations all around the park, but especially in Buena Vista Street. The bell ringers and tweaks to the regular entertainment offerings are great. Cars Land was also very cool to see with their take on the holidays.

The two special holiday offerings at DCA are the Viva Navidad celebration in the Paradise Gardens area of the park, and World of Color – Winter Dreams. I will say, I loved both of these last year. The bands, fun crafts and character meet and greets as well as special food offerings at Viva Navidad were fantastic. I think I also saw Winter Dreams four out of the five nights we were there, however it was before I had seen Frozen. It will be cool (no pun intended) to see it now that I have seen Frozen a few times and will know the characters.

Have you seen the holidays at Disneyland Resort? What are you most looking forward to seeing if you haven’t? I am only about 60 days away from my trip and I’m stoked I get to see all the decorations again this year.
