‘The LEGO Movie 4D A New Adventure’ Takes Awesome To A New Level Exclusively to LEGOLAND Florida January 2016!

An exciting new plot, some of the original voices from The LEGO Movie mixed with 4D effects make for an interactive guest experience

Merlin Entertainments is partnering with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and The LEGO Group to bring a new 4D animated film featuring the popular characters from The LEGO Movie, from Warner Bros. Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures and LEGO System A/S, to guests at LEGOLAND Parks and LEGOLAND Discovery Centers around the world starting in January 2016!

‘The LEGO Movie 4D A New Adventure’ is premiering at LEGOLAND Florida Resort on January 29, 2016, followed by LEGOLAND California Resort on February 6, with the film continuing to roll out at LEGOLAND Windsor, LEGOLAND Billund, LEGOLAND Deutschland and LEGOLAND Malaysia. Shortly after, guests at the 11 LEGOLAND Discovery Centers in North America, Asia, and Europe will get to experience this thrilling new adventure.

Written by Adam Pava (writer of “The Boxtrolls”) and co-written and directed by Rob Schrab (director of the sequel to “The LEGO Movie” debuting in 2018) “The LEGO Movie 4D A New Adventure” is bringing back some of the original voices including Elizabeth Banks (Wyldstyle), Alison Brie (Unikitty), Nick Offerman (MetalBeard) and Charlie Day (Benny) and will introduce a new villain, “Risky Business,” voiced by Patton Oswalt.

“The LEGO Movie 4D A New Adventure” follows a new journey for Emmet, Wyldstyle, Unikitty, Benny and MetalBeard after they receive a mysterious invitation leading them to a new theme park  where all of the rides are based on the characters’ adventures in “The LEGO Movie.” But not all is as it seems as the heroes are once again thrust into the middle of an evil secret plot, only this time, it will be up to the audience to use their Master Builder skills to help save them! Using elements such as wind, water, smoke and special lighting effects, the larger-than-life experience brings the film’s main characters, Emmet and Wyldstyle, back together with their friends for another awesome adventure.

Exclusive Partnership with Travelex Allows Travelers to Buy
LEGOLAND Dollars for Use at LEGOLAND Florida Resort

LEGOLAND Florida Resort has entered into an exclusive partnership with Travelex, the world’s leading independent foreign exchange business, to list the resort’s official currency, LEGOLAND Dollars, on Travelex’s currency exchange boards at 55  participating Travelex locations.

This partnership represents the first theme park to have an official currency listed on a currency exchange board. The LEGOLAND Dollarwill be available for purchase at a 1:1 exchange rate to the US Dollar, with a minimum exchange of $5 USD. LEGOLAND Dollars will only be available for purchase with US Dollars. LEGOLAND Dollarscan be purchased through select Travelex locations for the summer 2015 season.

The five story, 152 room LEGOLAND Hotel will be opening on May 15, 2015, and Jeremiah was able to take a hard hat tour of the construction and we’ll be sharing some similar photos of how it is going to look once completed.

In the LEGOLAND Hotel guests are greeted by a LEGO dragon and the spectacular entrance leads to themed play areas, a family pool, lounge, family restaurant, LEGO models, and interactive features throughout.

The reception desk in the lobby will feature an entire wall created out of more than 5,000 LEGO Minifigures. I know that Zoe is going to go bananas over this, since we love Minifigure Trading at the LEGOLAND Florida Resort!

The lobby is going to be home to the Castle Play area, which is based on the LEGO Kingdom and Pirates line, that is filled with elements of adventure!

Inside the Castle Play area there is a pirate ship complete with a blimp, docked along a moat filled with LEGO which surrounds an interactive castle. As they enter the castle, young guests can pull on a handle to disturb the LEGO ogre above them.

Guests of the LEGOLAND Hotel will be able to travel to the different floors via Disco Elevator. Yes…Disco Elevator!

As guests enter the elevator, lights pulsate in the ceiling to music, the floor will be made of ‘lava’ tiles, and as a mirror ball rotates different sound effects announce arrival on each floor. I never knew that I needed to ride in an elevator like this, but I DO!

March 28:  LEGOLAND Water Park, a park within a park, re-opens with a splash and just in time for summer-time fun. Guests of all ages can spend a full day of play in the water park with the Build-A-Raft River, where guests can build their own LEGO inner tubes and float down a 1,000-foot lazy river or splash and play in the DUPLO® Splash Safari, the Joker Soaker water playground, a 583,000-gallon wave pool and five slippery-fast water slides. Christmas spirit was glowing in the faces of children Saturday night as LEGOLAND Florida Resort hosted 40 Make-A-Wish families to kick off Christmas Bricktacular presented by Shutterfly®, with a Tree Lighting Ceremony in a colorful celebration full of music, lights and snow!

Merlin’s Magic Wand provided tickets for nearly 200 Make-A-Wish guests to enjoy the theme park and be special VIP guests at the ceremony.  LEGO® Santa and the stars of “The LEGO® Movie,” Emmet and Wyldstyle, brought up four children from Make-A-Wish Foundation to share the stage and help light the more than 30-foot tall LEGO Christmas tree made up of 270,000 LEGO and DUPLO® bricks.  The children included Riley Mazur, Elizabeth Pranger, Joshua Chambers, and Emsley Long.

LEGOLAND salutes military veterans with free admission Nov. 1-23, family discounts available

LEGOLAND Florida Resort is proud to offer free admission to military veterans of the United States Armed Forces with appreciation days leading up to Thanksgiving in the month of November. From Nov. 1-23, veterans will receive free admission to LEGOLAND Florida, along with 50 percent off tickets for up to six accompanying guests to experience the Park’s more than 50 rides, shows and attractions.

“We are proud to honor our Veterans here at LEGOLAND Florida Resort,” said LEGOLAND Florida Resort General Manager Adrian Jones. “This is a great way for LEGOLAND Florida to say ‘thank you’ to our military men and women for their service.”

To redeem the free admission, veterans can present their military ID to LEGOLAND Florida’s ticket window the day they plan to visit. This is the second year  the Park has offered this special military offer.

There will also be special additions to the Park on Nov. 10 in celebration of Veterans Day, including:

  • Veterans are invited to open the Park with a celebration
  • Guests can build a LEGO American flag mural
  • Veterans receive a 20 percent discount on select retail and food beverage items

LEGOLAND Florida Resort also honors all active duty military members with free admission. Military personnel including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reservists are entitled to free single day admission to LEGOLAND Florida and the LEGOLAND Water Park (open seasonally). Family and friends of military personnel also receive substantial discounts on admission tickets and should make purchases in advance through participating military base ticket offices.

National Fire Prevention Association Day Tomorrow at LEGOLAND Florida Resort

Tomorrow marks a unique event at LEGOLAND Florida Resort as partner National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) hosts a special one-day experience on Thursday, Oct. 9. The event promotes National Fire Prevention week, with special activities throughout the Park educating families on fire safety and prevention.

LEGOLAND Florida hosts NFPA Day on Thursday, October 9th, and the activities are included with your admission to the park.

Here are the LEGOLAND Florida NFPA activities you will find:

  • Polk County Fire Department (PCFD) at the entry of LEGOLAND Florida with one of their fire trucks, allowing guests to take an intimate look at the emergency vehicle. Fire Fighters will also hand out postcards and fire hats to guests from 9a.m.  – 12 p.m.
  • Guests can compete against PCFD Fire Fighters inside the Park and win a prize (max of 4 competitions throughout the day)
  • Interactive education stations around the LEGO City section of the Park. The various stations include trying on fire-fighter gear, testing fire alarms, LEGO builds and more!
  • The Steve Songs Trio will perform in The Big Test Plaza 15 minutes before each Big Test Show at 11:30am, 1:15pm and 3:45pm

Celebrate Halloween at LEGOLAND Florida’s 3rd Annual Brick-or-Treat!

Guests invade LEGOLAND Florida Resort beginning this weekend for the kid-friendly Halloween celebration of Brick-or-Treat presented by Wells Fargo! This spooky event takes place weekends in October, featuring trick-or-treating along the brick-or-treat trail, super brick build activities, the largest LEGO® Jack-O-Lantern in the world, Halloween entertainment and an all-kids costume contest with brick-tastic prizes!

LEGOLAND Florida is hosting its third-annual Brick-or-Treat celebration, running each weekend in October. Activities include:

  • LEGO Ghost Build – Kids can help build an 8’ tall super brick ghost model
  • LEGO Scary Scavenger Hunt in Miniland- Families can venture through Miniland searching for Ghost models to unscramble the secret word. All participants can enter for a chance to win LEGO prizes and tickets to LEGOLAND Florida!

  • Brick-or-Treat Trail- New this year, limited quantities of a special commemorative LEGO brick will be distributed on the Brick-or-Treat Trail! Children can trick-or-treat on the Brick-or-Treat Trail- gathering goodies, delicious treats and other surprises. This kid-sized cul-de-sac trail features several LEGO-themed treat stations and offers a safe, fun and entertaining trick-or-treating experience.
  • Emmet’s ‘Everything is Awesome’ Costume Contest- The LEGO® Movie’s own Emmet will make a special appearance at the Wells Fargo 4D Theater for each contest. LEGOLAND Costume Contest is grouped into the following categories:

LEGOLAND Florida unveils ‘cool’ way for guests to meet their favorite characters in unique one-on-one experience

LEGOLAND Florida Resort introduced a new unique and interactive way for guests to meet and mingle with their favorite LEGO characters, titled Buddy’s Character Corner!

Buddy’s Character Corner will be based in the historic Magnolia Mansion inside the Fun Town section of LEGOLAND Florida Resort, families visiting now have the opportunity to interact and take pictures with fan-favorites Buddy, Max, the LEGO Friends and even Emmet from The LEGO® Movie, all inside the comfort of air conditioning.

“We are excited to finally unveil this unique experience to our fans,” said LEGOLAND Florida Resort Product Excellence Manager Phil Royle. “This gives us another way for our guests to interact with the characters here at the Park, adding to our already exciting 50 rides, shows and attractions and LEGOLAND Water Park.”

The experience starts as visitors enter the Magnolia Mansion, being welcomed by various characters and LEGO theming. Children and parents will then have the opportunity to take their own photos or purchase an exclusive photo with their favorite character, with unique backgrounds to choose from. The backgrounds scenes include parts from The LEGO Movie, LEGOLAND Florida Resort, LEGO Friends and various LEGO Backgrounds. Other character meet and greet opportunities still take place throughout the park.

Buddy's Character Corner LEGOLAND Florida

The Magnolia Mansion, originally opened in 1941 and part of Cypress Gardens in various forms throughout the later 1900s, was restored in preparation of the new experience. Previously used for LEGOLAND meetings, the addition of Buddy’s Character Corner adds to attractions found under cover, and in air conditioning.

The announcement comes after the Resort released information on bookings for the LEGOLAND Hotel. Opening Summer 2015, the five story LEGO themed hotel will feature 152 brightly colored and highly themed rooms and suites, thousands of LEGO models and interactive play areas! The addition of the Hotel gives guests the opportunity to extend their stay and explore LEGOLAND Florida Resort for more than one day giving them the ultimate family experience.

LEGOLAND  Florida Resort to honor first responders with a free single day admission during September

LEGOLAND  Florida Resort is proud to once again honor police officers, fire fighters and EMS personnel with a free single day admission to the park during the month of September.  LEGOLAND Florida Resort’s special offer gives first responders a chance to experience the Park’s more than 50 rides, shows and attractions with their friends and family.

Welcome to LEGOLAND Florida

The program is valid for all police officers, fire fighters, and EMS employees working in the United States.  Active and retired personnel with identification are also eligible.  Eligible personnel should present their employee ID or professional organization membership card to LEGOLAND Florida Resort’s ticket window the day they plan to visit to redeem their one free admission ticket and purchase up to four additional tickets at only $40 per ticket. Guests may upgrade to include the LEGOLAND Water Park for just $15 per person.  The offer is valid from 9/1/14-9/30/14.

LEGOLAND Florida This Weekend 

LEGOLAND  Florida plays host for a second consecutive year to Cartoon Network’s MOVE IT MOVEMENT Tour on August 9 & 10. The summertime traveling event targets youth 6-14 and their parents, presented in partnership with the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition and in support of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Initiative.

LEGOLAND Florida is hosting Cartoon Network’s MOVE IT MOVEMENT final tour stop.

Move It Movement Activities will include:

  • NBA/WNBA FIT & NBA Hoop Troop — kids can demonstrate their fitness level by testing their basketball skills and shoot against the clock for prizes;
  • The PGA of America Driving Range — updated to reflect the new PGA Sports Academy and its goal of developing young social and competitive golfers, kids are invited to drive the ball for accuracy and distance with The PGA driving range. Top scores are posted on the PGA Sports Academy leaderboard;
  • NFL PLAY 60 — kids can practice a variety of football-themed activities, including running patterns and passing skills;
  • Subway® Fresh Fit for Kids™ Football Sled Challenge – At the challenge, kids can learn the importance of piling the veggies on their favorite Subway sandwich, as they push a custom Subway football sled across the finish line.
  • Let’s Move!/PALA+ booth — a station set aside specifically for registration materials, nutrition tips and further information promoting participation with Let’s Move! and the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award.

    The first 500 guests each day will also have the opportunity to win a pair MOVE IT MOVEMENT sunglasses after completing their ‘passport’ to each of the MOVE IT MOVEMENT stations around the park.
