Last night during The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic, Walt Disney Animation Studios shared two really exciting pieces of movie news!

The first thing that we were able to see was world television debut of a two-minute scene from Big Hero 6, opening in theaters November 7, 2014.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios, the team behind “Frozen” and “Wreck-It Ralph,” comes “Big Hero 6,” an action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax (voice of Scott Adsit), a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada (voice of Ryan Potter). When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago (voice of Jamie Chung), neatnik Wasabi (voice of Damon Wayans Jr.), chemistry whiz Honey Lemon (voice of Genesis Rodriguez) and fanboy Fred (voice of T.J. Miller). Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called “Big Hero 6.”

Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, and featuring breathtaking action with all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Big Hero 6” is directed by Don Hall (“Winnie the Pooh”) and Chris Williams (“Bolt”), and produced by Roy Conli (“Tangled”). The film hits theaters in 3D on Nov. 7, 2014.

The second piece of news from Walt Disney Animation Studios was the news that a new animated short called “Frozen Fever.”

Debuting in the spring of 2015, “Frozen Fever” will welcome back Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and, of course, the one-and-only Olaf to the big screen.

In “Frozen Fever,” it’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk.

Directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and produced by Peter Del Vecho, with an all-new original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, “Frozen Fever” marks the first project reuniting the Oscar®-winning original team from Disney’s “Frozen.”

My family really enjoyed watching The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic, and I can only hope that they make more specials like this! The Walt Disney Animation Studios announcements were definitely a pretty awesome bonus!!!
